Chapter 9
~Next Morning~
*Ring ring*
The sound of the alarm makes the duvet stifle. A person groaning in tiredness fills the pink room as a hand reaches out of the duvet to stop the alarm from making anymore noise. Under the thick covers, reveals Sunmi, who had just woken up from her slumber.
She pats her cheeks with the palm of her hands, her eyes still close as a smile makes its way onto her face. "I wonder what my schedule would be for today~ Will I see him again like yesterday?~ But I only saw him, did he notice I was there too?"
~Flashback~
"Sunmi-sshi! Your on stand by! Five more minutes!" "Ne!" Sunmi walks out of her waiting room, feeling fully ready for her performance. As she stands beside the stage, awaiting to perform, she watches the performers before her. She smiles widely as it's Wanna One, her eyes quickly searches for her bias.
"I'm feeling good, I wanna to..." She starts to squeal, fangirling hard, not noticing a crew member is putting on her earpiece. The crew looks at her weirdly, making a nervous smile appear on her face as she apologizes, "Juseonghamnida."
Sunmi forced herself to turn around and face the other way, so that the crew member can set up her mic properly, "Gomeubseubnida~" A few minutes later, she turns around again, but it was already another group performing. She pouts like a sad puppy as she had missed the ending of their performance, "It ended..."
~End Of Flashback~
~Ringtone-One Dance~
Though she had just woken up, she still manages to daydream about what happened, when her ringtone wakes her up officially, "Ne manager-nim?" "Eo~ Sunmi-sshi, the studio recording for your reality show appearance is suddenly pushed earlier than planned. Get ready, I'll be there in an hour."
"Ne. Eo Jamkan!" She calls out before he puts down the call, having to inform something important to him, "Wae? Is there something you need?" She nods in response. The line goes silent for a moment as none of them speak, "Sunmi-sshi?"
"Ne." "What is it that you were going to tell me?" She slaps her forehead, just being reminded that they're talking through the phone and he can't see her, making it obvious she's still half asleep, "Eo ne! Can you do a research on a list of famous restaurants that serve buffets or serves food in big portions and is often chosen by foodies?"
"Yah Lee Sunmi! You're suppose to be on a proper diet for your comeback! How can you think about having a buffet right now?!" He suddenly yells at her as pulls the phone away from her ear. Her eyes look back at the phone while shaking her head, "If you don't want to help me, could have just said so. Annyeong." She answers monotonously then ends the call.
"Mwoya? I just asked if he could do some research, does that always mean I'm the one whose gonna be eating? Why does this guy always jumps into conclusions?" She scoffs while looking at her phone then throwing it beside her.
She quickly jumps out of bed to get ready for work.
~An Hour Later~
Her manager picks her up from her apartment. As soon as she enters the van, her eyes are glued to the views outside the car window. Watching cars pass by, kids going to school with their friends, people in suits walking in a hurry to catch the public transport.
Her mind feels at ease whenever she watches the scene. She feels as if it's the only time she can experience what normal looks like. With her
"Sunmi-sshi, are you taking your debut seriously?" Her eyes furrow at the question, making her feel irritated, "What kind of question is that?? Of course I am. Plus, I already debuted a week ago, have you seen how hard I work on stage? I'm already learning a new dance for my comeback everyday when my debut had just been done, trying to eat properly, learning, memorizing the lyrics. Wah~ Na jinjja himdereo, just talking about my schedule is already draining my energy~"
"Geureuseo, why are you planning to have a buffet when you debuted literally just a week ago?? Huh?? You need to stay in shape so that you can do the dances properly."
"Na ara. You think I don't know that? Every where I go currently is related to work. Can't I at least have a peace of mind while I'm free now? *sighs*" When she mentions about rest, her manager stays silent, knowing he had pushed her a little too far than he intended too.
He's about to open up his mouth to say something, when the girl snaps at him suddenly in a half sassy manner, "By the way, I asked if you could do the research cause its a present for a friend of mine. Just because I asked you to do something for me, doesn't mean that something is meant for me"
She says under her breathe irritatingly as she stares back at the car window, pouting her lips sulkily like a child. Her manager who feels sorry as he had yelled at her, decides to admit that he is guilty for blowing things out of proportion.
"Geurae? Mian, I'll ask your assistant to do some research on that." She hums as her mood is still down. Another reason she's feeling sad, is because it's been a week since she last saw her crush.
While staring out the window, she sees couples passing by. Some holding hands, while some are sitting in a café, having a coffee date.
"So whose birthday is it?" "Huh?" Her eyes too focused on the view, not fully listening to question being asked, "To whom is the present for? Hyuna? Hyelim?" "Yoon J---" Her manager looks at her weirdly as her eyes widens and wavers.
"Yoonji? Who's she? A new friend of yours?" She has been to focused on the view outside of the window, she doesn't realize the ones he mentioned are girls, when her mind is obviously occupied by someone else.
"Y-y-yu-yubin-sshi!" "Ah~ Cheongmalyeo? But wasn't her birthday just last week?" "Museun suriya? We haven't even entered September yet! How can we pass October already?*laughs*" She smiles nervously as she looks at him from the corner of her eyes, hoping he won't catch her lying. Luckily, he doesn't find her laugh odd at all.
He then suddenly starts to feel suspicious yet again, resulting to him twist his head slightly to the side, finding the situation odd, "Geunde---" "Oh look! We're here! Better head to the studio before they start without me!" She cuts him off as soon as the van stops in front of the television station building. Sunmi opens the door and runs in the speed of lightning.
As she walks pass the entrance, she keeps on looking back, hoping she can avoid her manager for the time being. Her eyes aren't focused on where she is heading, making her bump into someone, causing her to lose balance as she closes her eyes, expecting the fall.
Her eyes have been closed shut for a few seconds, and yet, she doesn't feel any pain of falling, "Gwaenchanha-eo(Are you okay)?"
