CHAPTER NINE

YOONGI SAT NEXT TO JIN IN THEIR SCIENCE CLASS.
His foot tapping against the floor gently as Jin directed his attention to the board in front of them. The two sat at the back of the class, though neither of them had 20/20 vision.
Jin glanced at Yoongi, who's leg was shaking and was chewing at the nail of his thumb before rolling his eyes and turning towards him; whispering as to not alert the teacher.

"Is this about Jimin again?" Jin asked, eyebrow arching as the boy detached his finger from his mouth and stared at him with wide eyes.

"No." Yoongi said, pausing slightly before he continued. "Why did he say anything about me?"

Jin rolled his eyes, "All he said was that you have the dick of a fish and mugged him in the middle of the night."

"What?!" Yoongi yelled, earning a look from their teacher.

Jin chuckled, winking at the teacher who blushed shamelessly before turning back to the board. He looked to Yoongi, nudging him softly. "You idiot. I was just playing around."

"Why are you so concerned about what he says about you anyways?" Jin asked, an eyebrow raising.

"It's not like I'm concerned or anything, I just want to make a good first impression." Yoongi shrugged, twirling his pen in his fingers.

"You met him literally last week, you've made your first impression all ready." Jin said.

That may be true. But for Yoongi, he'd get so nervous around the younger it was like they were meeting for the first time. Every time they're in class together it's like that was the first time they've ever seen each other. It might be just him but Yoongi could've sworn Jimin was stealing glances at him on the first day. And it made him feel good, no one's ever looked at him like that before; whatever way it was it was nice. It felt refreshing to have Jimin's eyes on him and he didn't know why.

But he obviously wasn't gonna tell Jin that.

"I just want us all to be friends, and not have the fact that Jimin practically hates me to make things awkward for the rest of us." Yoongi said, zoning out into the senseless biology on the board. Obviously that wasn't true, Yoongi wanted Jimin to like him for completely different reasons; reasons he hasn't even admitted to himself yet.

"Well if you want a tip to get into Jimin's heart-"

"Is it through his stomach?" Yoongi asked, hopefully.

"No." Jin stated.

"Good, I'm a terrible cook." Yoongi said shaking his head, "what do I have to do."

Jin shrugged, "I guess what you have to do is just be vulnerable with him. He won't tell you anything or let you into his heart if you won't do the same for him. He won't trust you that way. If you wanna know stuff about him, he has to know stuff about you first. The more you share with him the more comfortable he will become to share himself. But if you force him to tell you things he'll lash out and there will officially be a 0 percent chance of you two being friends."

Yoongi nodded, he wasn't relieved like he thought he would be. He didn't know that Jimin was someone to be careful with to this extent. Perhaps the boy was fragile after all. Either way Yoongi needs to be careful with what he says, otherwise things could turn out bad.

Very bad.

The bell rang, and Yoongi turned to see that Jin wasn't even there anymore. Like a spirit that disappears after sharing important information. Yoongi sighed, packing up his things and making his way out of the classroom. He needed to find Jimin. This project was not gonna finish itself. It had to start the day the assignment was given. Not only did they have to write a biography about their partner, but also write a journal entry about the following days they spend together.

Yoongi couldn't write about someone he hasn't spoken to. So no matter how bad Jimin didn't want to be his partner; he was gonna have to get over it.

If only he could find the younger-

"Jimin!" Yoongi called, walking towards the boy, who stood at his locker- retrieving his bag for his journey home.

Jimin looked at him blankly before shutting his locker and walking off. Yoongi frowned, but followed him anyways.

"We have to start our friendship project today, so I was hoping you could swing by my apartment for an hour or two." Yoongi asked nicely, walking a little ahead Jimin and turning to face him, stopping the younger in his tracks.

"What makes you think I want to go to your apartment?" Jimin grumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets.

That's it. Fuck first impressions.

Yoongi rolled his eyes, pulling out Jimin's hand from his pocket and slipping a piece of paper inside. Jimin didn't want to admit it but he liked the feeling of Yoongi's hand in his.

Jimin ripped his hand away, clutching the paper- which seemed to slowly burn a whole in his hands.

"I know you're so against us becoming friends and all for whatever dumb reason you made up in your head. But I'm not gonna let my grades suffer just because you want to act like a child." Yoongi seethed before taking a breathe, smiling softly and gesturing to the paper in Jimin's hand. "My address is on there. I'll see you at 5:00."

Yoongi walked away from a stunned Jimin before he turned back to the younger, his smile dropping from his face and turning into a serious glare. "And don't be late; I have shit to do."

Jimin gulped, walking off into the direction of his own house.
