CHAPTER FOUR

"THERE'S SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT JIMIN." Jin said, twirling his red pen around his fingers as he watched the video on the screen in front of his class. "If you're so keen on becoming friends with him."

Yoongi turned, placing his pencil on his desk before turning his body slightly towards the older. Yoongi wouldn't say he was desperate to be friends with Jimin, rather, there was a part of him that Yoongi felt was rather interesting. Besides, after the locker room incident, it didn't seem like Jimin wanted to be all buddy buddy with him. But he couldn't get past the fact that looking into Jimin's eyes was like staring into a mirror in a green field. Yoongi saw not only himself, but the world behind him.

Also because Yoongi had a desire for everyone he meets to like him. But that was besides the point.

"You're making it sound like I'm obsessed with him." Yoongi grumbled, which he was- in a way-.

"Hey, do you want my help or not?" Jin asked, turning away from the front of the class. "I could just leave you clueless, you know. I know Jimin like the back of my hand. Without me you're walking into a maze without a map."

Yoongi nodded, "Okay. What do I need to know."

Jin hummed, setting down his pen and turning to face Yoongi completely. He spoke in a hushed whisper. "One thing to always remember about Jimin is that he's probably more scared of himself -and you- than you are of him."

Yoongi furrowed his brows. "Expand on that please."

"He used to bully kids a lot when he was younger. Especially this one kid. I forgot the name though. They used to be really good friends, but something happened that caused them to stop talking to each other." Jin sighed, "After that, Jimin acted as though they were never friends in the first place. Jimin hated him and bullied him like no tomorrow."

"Man." Yoongi shook his head, "they were just kids. What could've possibly make someone change their mind about a person that quick?"

"I don't know." Jin shrugged, "But what I do know is that after the kid disappeared, he cried for days. Jimin missed school for a week -pretending he was sick- but he really just stayed home and cried. Looking back on it, I think Jimin was scared of himself, what he was capable of, and what people thought of him."

The fact that Jimin seemed to be so fragile on the inside made Yoongi more comfortable with approaching him. It was comforting to know that if he spoke to Jimin at all from now on that he probably wouldn't even lay a finger on him. Just like what happened with the locker room. There was hesitance in Jimin's eyes, but also fear. As if he was afraid that if he didn't hold back something bad would happen.

That thought alone only made Yoongi want to know Jimin more. Before Yoongi could expand the idea further in his head, Jin's voice pulled him from his thoughts.

"Another thing about Jimin is that he's reserved. He doesn't like people knowing too many things about him. The kid isn't very trusting and will think that you're plotting against him somehow just because you know his favourite colour." Jin added, rolling his eyes.

"Well, how come you know so much about him?" Yoongi asked, curious as to how the other boys got to know Jimin so well.

"It took us 12 years of observation, tantrums and a lot of alcohol." Jin chuckled, his eyes nostalgic.

Yoongi frowned, "You guys have known each other for so long. How am I supposed to catch up?"

Jin smiled, placing his hand on the younger's soothingly. "Don't worry about it, from what I can tell the boys like you already and -believe it or not- Jimin probably likes you too."

Yoongi's eyes widened, a small smile crept to his face. "You think so?"

"Probably a bit too much." Jin added, he was about to say something else before the school bell rang, signalling students to hurry to their next class. Jin walked off from his seat, but stopped to turn back to Yoongi, who was still packing up his things. "Oh, one more thing. You won't know how he's feeling until he trusts you enough to show you. But he can only hold onto his bottle of emotions for so long until he breaks."

Jin walked out of the class and left Yoongi to frown alone in the room, thinking about all the new things he learned about Jimin so far.

'He's fragile,
is scared of others,
untrusting with emotions,
keeps things to himself,
is scared of himself,
probably only talks to his group of friends,
and likes me more than he cares to admit.'

Yoongi sighed, throwing his bag over his shoulder and walking out from the classroom. "I should've taken notes."
