Chapter Three
Sliding her hand over their heads for no more than two seconds, Parvati held onto her small dangling pouch, exhaling with serious expressions. Swara and Lakshya straightened their posture and flapped their eyes at her with a wide smile curled over their lips.
"Have a happy marriage." Parvati blessed, clearing her throat after and glanced away from their joyful faces, not able to witness it for any longer.
"Thank you Daadi." Swara replied to Parvati, genuinely thankful for Parvati's blessings. Despite it being no more than two seconds, Swara's heart felt relieved and overwhelmed with Parvati's kind words.
"Thank you." Lakshya replied with a smile and turned his head to face his wife, Swara. Happy to see her happy.
"Shona, Lakshya, before leaving meet Ragini." Swara and Lakshya face Sharmishta, nodding their heads positively, "Is she awake?"
"Yes, she's awake, but she doesn't feel too well to come down." Parvati replied to Swara's question instead, gazing at them. "I thought it'll be better to meet her before you leave so she doesn't hold any guilt back and you won't feel bad of her not being here to see you off."
Swara and Lakshya agree to Parvati, nodding their heads positively at her.
"Swara, Lakshya. . . Are you guys ready?" Annapurna interrupted the two as she walked there with Sujata behind her.
Lakshya, Swara, Sharmishta and Parvati cock their heads to the side, staring at them.
"Maa, we are going to meet Ragini and after that we can go."
"Ragini?" Annapurna was confused as she blinked at Lakshya, who nodded his head at her as a response instead.
"Yes, she was unwell so she couldn't attend the wedding. I wanted to see her before leaving." Swara uttered, expressing her desire of meeting her sister before leaving. This could possibly be the last time she would be able to meet her daily. Her eyes glistened as a thought of not being able to see her mother, father, grandma, granddad and her sister everyday now, made her emotional.
"Jiji, let's meet Ragini before we leave too." Sujata uttered and Annapurna nodded at her suggestion and blinked at Parvati and Sharmishta, "if you don't mind can we meet Ragini too?"
"Sure." Sharmishta agreed, curling a small smile while responding to Annapurna and Parvati merely nodded her head positively, okay with Annapurna and Sujata joining them too.
(Chuuu from the start to here is flashback. Italics mein karna)
Swara, Lakshya, Sharmishta, Annapurna and Sujata flapped their confused eyes at Ragini and Sanskaar while Parvati merely made eye contact with Sanskaar, neither surprised nor angry to have caught the two like this.
Sanskaar continued staring at Parvati, recalling his encounter with her.
After exiting the Baari secretly from the back, he felt a void and released a distraught sigh. He hated himself for hurting and leaving Ragini like that, the fire he started was now engulfing Ragini alone. He managed to escape before it caused more damage to him, yet he felt miserable to let Ragini be trapped in it. 'How would you feel if someone you love was taken away from you?' Swara's words played in his mind like a song on loop, attacking his heart with guilt and pain.
"Stop!" He halted his steps and turned around, surprised to see Parvati rushing out behind him.
His eyes widened and she caught up, panting due tiredness. "Don't. . . Leave. . ." She managed to mutter between her breaths and swallowed her dry throat.
"D. . . Daadi Ji?" He wanted to confirm he wasn't hallucinating, and touch her shoulder, dropping his hand instantly as if he had been zapped by the electricity.
"You're not mad?" She sternly questioned and grit her teeth, "why did you do this drama?"
"I. . ." Before he could complete his sentence, he watched her hold his collars and shake him with all her strength. "Why did you use my Laado? Why did you make her do all the bad things, who are you to leave her alone? Who!"
His breath hitched and he widened his eyes, "how. . ." Yet again, he wasn't able to speak as this time Parvati released his shirt from her grasp and pushed him.
He fell onto the ground and Parvati closed her eyes for few seconds, inhaling to stop her tears from making an unwanted appearance.
"All those things that happened to Swara. . . Was it you and Laado?" She opened her eyes, demanding an answer from Sanskaar who stood up, dusting his clothes.
"Clean your clothes later!" She exclaimed, clenching her jaw, "answer me!"
He was terrified with her anger and raised his head to meet her eyes, nodding his head positively as a response.
"Why did you do this?"
"To take revenge. . . I was blinded by the fire of revenge to this extent that I couldn't distinguish what was right and what was wrong anymore. I wanted everyone to feel the pain I went through and using Ragini, was the perfect way to avenge Lakshya. . ."
Parvati slapped him across the face as hard as she could, disgusted and angry by his thought.
"How dare you! You lured my Laado into this by promising to give her Lakshya only to avenge your own pain?" She was angry and disappointed at Sanskaar, wanting to slap him even more yet she was controlling herself from doing so, having something else in mind that she wanted to put forth.
"You ruined my Laado's life and now you just leave her alone as if she's the only bad person?" Parvati continued, lashing out at him with her words rather than hands, feeling a tinge of fire burning her heart. "She would never have done any of this if you had just left her alone! My innocent Laado was manipulated by you! You used her love for Lakshya against her and made her turn evil and now you told her to stop as if you're a saint?"
His eyes glistened hearing Parvati's harsh yet true words piercing through his heart. He lowered his gazes, unable to meet hers and she continued attacking him with her words.
"What will you do now? How will you take responsibility for your fault? What will happen to my Laado? Are you really just going to disappear after ruining her innocence and good heart? What if she takes a step that she would regret her whole life to separate Swara and Lakshya? Who will take responsibility then!"
"I. . . I'm sorry. . ."
"Will your sorry fix everything?"
He shook his head negatively to her question, really reflecting on her words. She was right, his sorry wasn't going to fix anything. He had already caused the damage, and now if didn't fix it, it would expand and break to this point that picking the scattered pieces would be hard.
"I'll take responsibility. . . I'll take the whole blame, I won't let Ragini be dragged into this mess."
"You already dragged her into this mess!" She retorted, and he mustered courage, lifting his head to look at her. "How will you handle the person you made her into?"
"I'll. . . I'll stay by her side to make sure she doesn't do anything wrong, I won't let her walk on this path, I'll help her walk away from it like I have. . ."
"With what rights?" She asked and he stared at her cluelessly. "This society won't let you be just a friend to her! Your relationship with her would be butchered many times, you may not care but I do care! My Laado doesn't deserve all the hate she'll receive from the people! You do!"
She was right, and this was the most tormenting thing about society. They will never let anyone breath in peace, it's mainly worse for girls, who face more insults and black lash from people compared to boys. Parvati knew Sanskaar and Ragini's closeness even if it was with the intention to help her will be questioned in the most dirtiest way ever. Now that Sanskaar not mad, he has no excuse to be with her anymore. Before it was her helping him but now, him helping her would never be understood positively.
"What will you do when all the women point fingers at Laado after seeing her with you every single minute? What will you do when they question your intentions to help her refrain from being bad?"
What will he do? He really had no answers to Parvati's questions, his heart started to feel numb and his throat felt dry. He stared into space thinking about the situation.
"Only if you hadn't influenced my Laado then she wouldn't have been so crazy about snatching Lakshya away from Swara and do all those things!" She accused and averted her gazes away from his face. "You wouldn't have to take responsibility if she had silently let her heart break and allow Swara and Lakshya to move on happily!"
He felt ashamed, Parvati's words were hurting him more than he could handle and tears seeped down his eyes. "W. . . What can I do to make things better again?"
Parvati exhaled and glanced back at him while he lifted his head to look at her, sincere about his question. "What can I do?"
"Marry her." His teary eyes widened at the brazen statement of Parvati, who held no regrets in declaring her decision. "Marry her and take responsibility. You may move on in a while but my Laado, what about her future? How would she live with all the mistakes she made because of you? How would she heal when you left her to be blamed? What if someone finds out about all the things you made her do? Her life would be ruined, who would want to marry her in future? The sister who tried to snatch her sister's happiness, would anyone accept her into their family after hearing about this incident?"
"But. . . I wouldn't be able to give her a secured future. I have gotten kicked out of my house just today, where would I go with her?"
"You can stay at our house until you get it sorted out! If you want to take responsibility then make her your wife, that way no one will raise their fingers on Laado!"
He clenched his fist and stared into space. Will making her his wife really sort out half of their problems? He wasn't willing to agree to this decision, he knew he wouldn't give Ragini the love she deserved as his heart still mourned for his ex love, Kavita. Yet he had no other choice, he was the reason why Ragini fell into the black hole and now he has to be the reason to pull her out.
"Okay. I'll marry her." He exhaled after speaking, feeling his heart hitting against his chest. "I'll take full responsibility, this is my fault so I'll fix it." He added and Parvati sighed, looking down afterwards.
"What is happening here?" Parvati asked, adding anger to her tone of voice while calmly looking at Ragini and Sanskaar.
Ragini's eyes stopped at Swara's hairline and tears seeped down her cheeks after seeing the vermillion. Her eyes slowly move down to her neck, staring at the Mangalsutra that should've been hers. Her heart clenched and she exhaled a small silent sob, closing her hands to make a fist, wanting to stop herself from breaking down and looking pathetic in front of them.

And doneeeeee! 🥰
All of you must be happy seeing early updates. I'm actually shocked, what is happening? Why am I writing it so early? What has gotten into me? I'm usually not the type to give back to back updates, one after another! Oh my gosh, kiska bhoot chala gaya mere andar? With writing, I'm literally Fizo ki hi behen. I would honestly take months to write one sentence and four hours to think of one line. This whole experience reminds me of Telly Updates times. When I first started my journey, I would update 5 times a week 😂.
Bada wala thank youuuu to everyone who are reading, voting and commenting. All of you are so kind and supportive. You're boosting my confidence! 🥺❤️❤️
Guys I think yeh iss scene se aage ni jaane wala. Ekta ki tarah I'll probably take janams to move from this bedroom mein caught wala scene 🤣.
I'll try my best to write it once a week but I can't promise anything 🤚🏼.
A little treat for Chu and all of you:
I actually call Fizo Chu, it's short for Chudel 😂 I wrote Chu so many times but I had to change it to Fizo in case all of you misunderstand it for the bad word. 🤧
