Getting to know each other
Mark arrived at Coex Mall 30 minutes prior their initial meet up time, not wanting to give a bad impression by being late. Spending at least one and a half hours deciding what to wear. In the end, he opted for some light washed fitted jeans and a grey hooded jumper with his gold-rounded-rimmed specs.
He walked back a forth in front of the entrance, where the automatic door kept on inviting him in but he chose otherwise. His hands in his pockets started to sweat, he took them out and wiped them on his jeans.
The bundles of fresh and blooming bouquets of the ending spring flowers from the florist store was too beautiful to not be noticed. Mark busied himself, killing time by making his way to the store and admire the flowers. Roses, daisies, tulips all reminded him of something delicate. Reminding him of how the sun is needed for how these flowers bloom vibrantly.
"Need any help there young man?", asked the elderly woman who Mark assumed was the owner.
"Uhh", Mark contemplated whether or not he should give Donghyuck a greeting flower. But he didn't want to come off as desperate or creepy, so he left it as it is. "No, I'm good Ma'am. Have a good day!", he slightly bowed with an apologetic smile and returned back to the entrance.
Leaning against the bricked wall, he eyed the hands on his watch running in five laps. After getting bored of that sight, he looked and saw that sun and moon are both up at the same time, getting ready to reach the evening. He spotted Donghyuck in a distance, constantly fixing his ruffled hair that was caused by the wind and straightening his white t-shirt and creamed coloured cardigan with his slightly trembling hands. Mark couldn't help but smile to himself, seeing how the younger looked so nervous. But the moment he was five metres away from Mark, his whole aura changed into a much calmer and "careless" attitude. And this time, Mark chuckled out silently while shaking his head in disbelief.
"So, I'm expecting you to take me to some kind of magical kingdom", Donghyuck sarcastic remarks had put Mark speechless. Speechless at how and where he got the confidence from, considering he looked so small and nervous from afar.
"Ehh, not quite", Mark's head had dropped a little before making eye contact with Donghyuck who had looked a little different. This time, showing his bare tanned skin (skipping the bronzer) but the focus are on his eyes. A simple smudge of eyeliner added wonders to his already alluring eyes.
"Are you done staring mister?", Donghyuck crossed his arms and quirked and eyebrow at him.
"Ah yeah, what?", Donghyuck thought that Mark's face looked so stupid but those specs weren't being on his side. He just thought that those rounded specs looked cute, that's all.
Mark had caught him staring for a little too long, when Donghyuck got himself out of his own train of thought, he looked else where but the older in front of him. Mark found it amusing how Donghyuck says such things but does the exact same thing. There was a lot that Mark needed to learn from him, he didn't mind it one bit.
Donghyuck looked over his left shoulder and eyed the fluorescent florist store with his lips slightly parted, silently gasping at the pink and white bouquet. "Those are some nice flowers", he said nonchalantly and entered the mall, leaving Mark three footsteps behind.
Mark cursed under his breath, regretting his decision on not buying the bouquet before hand.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I took you to the movies", Mark explained himself to the question that Donghyuck had bombarded him for the last 20 minutes as they walked into their cinema room.
"God, you're so corny",Donghyuck rolled his eyes followed up with a restrained smile, trying to hide that fact that he was already enjoying it too much, even though this is just the beginning to a new friendship. He honestly didn't know why he made effort to come out tonight, he was in no place to be. But he thought meeting Mark wasn't going to be too bad, considering the amount of times they had ran into each other where it's mostly unexpected.
There they were, sitting side by side as friends, if they even care to put on a label of what kind of relationship this was, watching a movie that Donghyuck found to be the most stupid with poor humour. Mark's reactions says otherwise, laughing a fit at the smallest thing. He laughs easily, Donghyuck noted. Not that he needed to but it was too obvious to not be noticed.
Mark's contagious laugh was a lot more entertaining for Donghyuck to watch. The way his nose scrunches up and eyes disappearing in the most pleasant way. Laughing so hard, suddenly Mark's eyes bulged out, stopping every movement or act he was doing. Donghyuck just stared at him with confusion, not knowing what to do. Mark pointed to his neck with mouth opened, panicking, his face starting to lose colour. He started coughing up so loud as Donghyuck patted him on the back hardly, earning dirty glance and little curses from everyone in the room. Eventually, Mark had coughed up that popcorn seed which threatened to end his life.
They both left the cinema room, Donghyuck going out after Mark while he was speed walking out, embarrassed to the gut.

Everything they did seemed to be doing it side by side. Now, walking along the Han River in the cool evening breeze. City light glowing in a distance, comfortable silence grew upon themselves.
They had initially planned on walking home together by taking the longer route because their movie "date" was cut short by Mark's choking incident. Mark felt humiliated by that scene, on top of that felt bad for dragging the younger out to an unorganised meeting. He figured going to Han River wouldn't be too bad. What could possibly go wrong? Unless Mark embarrasses himself again and will jump into the river for good.
Settling down on a bench in front of the flowing river, sitting a reasonable distance from one another.
Bonding over some cheap beer in their hand, that they had bought from the convenient store when taking a night stroll around the city. Talking about how their semester break was so long, not knowing where to go or what to do. They both agreed on it, Donghyuck complained that it would be a waste if they don't go out, he said reluctantly to Mark that he only showed up because he was bored. That was it.
"Smart choice", Donghyuck interrupted as Mark was discussing about the comedic movie.
"What?"
"Pulling moves on me", referring to the midnight club teasing incident. He looked into the far distance with his hands on the edge of the bench then swift his head to turn back to Mark, who was already looking at him in awe.
"I can say that I got lucky", Mark's lips tugged into a small smile dropping his head to his lap for a short second then back to the younger who just sipped on his beer.
Those words buzzed in Donghyuck's ears, ignoring all of the city traffic and footsteps around him. Taking a deep breath in but managed to not look obviously impacted by the sweet lies.
"Yeah, I was lucky enough to see your image being ruined by a popcorn seed", Donghyuck tried to break this feeling, the feeling of your body temperature boiling reaching its highest point before steaming off.
Mark sprayed beer out of his mouth, ready to defend himself. Ruining image part two, Donghyuck thought but he found the duality cute.
"Funny how such small things make you choke or something", Donghyuck quirked a comment at him. Not only that popcorn seed mad Mark choke, but metaphorically, Donghyuck was also a small thing, that makes him choke on his own words. Choking on how savage he can be once you try to enter into his world, or choking on how ethereal he looks, especially under the moonlight and the city lights reflecting on his soft features in the dark.
"Are you always this savage? I swore on the first night we met, you were much nicer. I've been scammed", Mark retorted but no signs of anger showed. He only wanted to tease the younger.
"Try me"
"Why should I bother"
"Mmm, Yeah. Thought so, all you do is talk", Donghyuck's smirk can be seen on the side.
"Aish, this kid", Mark had strangled Donghyuck's neck with his toned arms, slightly suffocating him and ruffled the top of his head.
Mark got up from the bench and released a long and loud sigh, stretching out his limbs. Picking up the empty cans that managed to make them feel more relaxed now that the night was ending.
"Where are you going?", Donghyuck asked.
"Leaving you here", Mark walked off and waved with his back turned.
Donghyuck had thought, all of this was too good to be true. It was one of the first times that a male had approached him. While on the other hand, Donghyuck was always the first to make a move which had ended with many failures attempts. He sat there fiddling with his fingers, thinking about he should be faithful to Jaeno, who stuck around with him longer than he thought. In fact, Jaeno cared for him and showed him affection, but it was different, it isn't the same like how he felt now. Donghyuck cursed at himself for being too stupid to be pulled into a trap of lies.
"Fucken handsome foreign bitch", he stood up in his feet to leave.
When he turned around, the handsome foreign bitch said was standing right in front of him chuckling at what so ever reason.
"I heard everything", Mark rested his left hand on Donghyuck's shoulder and the other behind his back.
"What are you doing here?", he brushed of Mark's hand.
Mark pulled his right arm in front of Donghyuck. The sight of bunched up sunflowers that was probably picked from the grass made his stomach tingle and it started to tie knots. A pink blush filtered over his face, flushing his tan skin.
"You said all I do is talk. I'm sure you know what these mean", Mark smiled softly.
Feelings of admiration, adoration and plantonic love towards another. Hoping his happiness last forever because it mattered to him. Building a stronger bond amongst themselves. Last but not least, wishing him good luck. Wanting to show his gratitude to him for being there when he felt out of place.
After all, unorganised meetings wasn't too bad.
