Descriptions vary between authors. It really depends on your style. I'd say the most important thing to keep in mind when writing a description is that that is going to be the very first thing your reader is going to read. It has to be eye-catching. If it's a dull description or doesn't look appealing, then most potential readers will just skim over it and won't even read it. 

You can use a suggestive dialogue if you'd like, or describe your story in a single paragraph. I usually write something that shows my intentions with the story, but at the same time, I have a hard time coming up with a fully formed plot, so I don't even know what's going to happen. 

Points:

1. Write something that will catch the reader's attention.

2. Have fun with it. Don't be afraid to pull on a few heartstrings.
