Home Sweet Home..
Note: The Nocturnal in this story is fanon, not canon. In this one she is a ghetto girl who's addicted to cocaine. Lol. Enjoy!
After we left Swagnimite's caravan camp, Oblivion told me something really important.
"Mom has been looking for you," she said. "Maybe you should come to Evergloam before you go back to... wherever you and Sans live." She glanced at Sans with this look that I was all too familiar with. There was no need for words, for she spoke with her eyes. 'Can I trust you?' was what they said.
Sans looked at her quietly. Then he gave her a thumbs-up. Oblivion nodded. "Okay then..."
"Let's go," I said, then teleported to my mother's realm, bringing Sans and my sister with me.
A silver mist hung over the damped ground. The sky was eternally black and speckled with flecks of diamond. An eerie castle loomed not too far off.
My birthplace was exactly how I remembered it. It's strange, how a being of fire and light be a product of a place so dark and gloomy. But I have no regrets growing up here. I didn't have a choice anyway. Heh.
Oblivion lead us into Mom's castle. She was sitting on her throne, smoking weed. "Hey, babies!" she shouted. She waved, grinning maniacally. "Glory, you're here, too!" She hopped off the great chair and gave me a big hug. She smelled of alcohol, but I leaned into the embrace. It's been so long since I've last seen my parents.
"Where's Dad?" I asked, smiling as we broke from our hug. Sans gagged out of the corner of my eye in reaction to the stench of beer.
"In the Isles, as always," Nocturnal replied. "He's busy at work, but..." She lowered her voice and whispered, "You've always been his favorite child. I'm sure he'll make an exception for you."
I blushed lightly and nodded. Mom rose her hand, and a purple mist appeared on the ground before us. The mist soon turned into my father, Haskill of the Shivering Isles.
"Yes? How can I be of-- Glory!" He laid his hazel eyes on me and, like my mother, hugged me. "Glory, where have you been?"
"Oh, you know." I winked. "Bouncing around dimensions. Breaking legs, breaking hearts. Catching things on fire. You know me, Daddy."
"Heh, I do." Dad nodded, amused. "You really are a special one."
"Hey!" Oblivion protested. She crossed her arms in the beginning of a pout. "What about me? I'm special, too!"
Nocturnal laughed lightly, and patted her youngest child atop the head. "You are, Baby Bat."
"Mom, Dad," I began, grabbing Sans' wrist. "This is one of my friends, Sans. He's a skeleton."
Sans waved. "yo."
"A skeleton? That's... odd..," Haskill said, but at the same time Nocturnal yelled, "THAT'S AWESOME!!"
Sans smirked, and winked up at the Daedric Mistress. "yea, i'm a sans-ation."
It all went quiet. We all stared at him. Then we all burst out laughing (except Dad, who I'm pretty sure is unable to laugh), but Oblivion just punched Sans playfully in the shoulder. "Ugh, you're just the WORST!"
I giggled, watching Sans shrug innocently. I looked up at my mother. "So... Oblivion said you have been looking for me?"
"Oh yeah." Her face turned grim, and she and Haskill exchanged glances. They glanced to Sans and Oblivion to make sure they weren't listening.
"Mehrunes Dagon is out looking for you."
An unpleasant shock skipped up my spine right at the sound of that name. Mehrunes Dagon. Daedric Prince of Destruction. I've had history with him, but I haven't heard from him in years.
"Oh god..," I murmured in dismay. "Why?!"
Haskill looked at me sternly. "You know why, Firecracker."
I shuddered. I opened my mouth to say something, but Nocturnal quickly said, "That's not all. He's been stalking your sister... Threatening her for your personal info." She took a puff of weed, inhaling deeply.
"I can't just give myself to him!" I exclaimed.
"We're not asking you to," Haskill said gently. "We're asking you to do something about it." He put a hand on my shoulder. "Glory, we love you. But your problem has become Oblivion's problem. And we can't allow that to happen." He took his palm away. "Glory. You're all on your own for this one."
