Chapter 3
---Noah---
I felt something vibrate in my jean pocket. I reached in and pulled out my phone, which was telling me I had a message. My heart skipped a beat. Maybe it was someone who could help us! But I saw it was from my sister. I opened the text and read it.
Noah, Michael Jackson & Harry Potter r standing rite outside our door!? wat shuld I do?! HELP!! Ri xx
My eyes widened. Ri was in trouble. I looked around, I was more than 5 blocks away, I'd never make it! I spotted a smart looking Ferrari, parked just outside someone's house. No one was here anymore, so it wouldn't hurt to just borrow the car...would it? I thought about Ri, she needed me, she depended on me, I was all she had now. Without a second thought, I ran over to the car and smashed the driver's window, using a brick I'd found. I reached in and opened the door and slid in, now I just had to start the darn thing.
I pushed the driver's seat backwards and pulled the cover off of the bottom of the wheel and began hot wiring. The engine soon made a low rumble and I could appreciate the beauty of the car. It's engine was incredible and the paint job was glossy and unscratched. Shame, I'd probably end up ruining that, not on purpose, obviously.
I put my foot on the pedal and raced off back home. Hold on Ri, hold on!
I wasn't far from home when I had to quickly slam on the breaks. At my current speed, the car's breaks were slow to react and I found the car swerving violently and crashing into a street light. The air bag deployed and I pushed it out the way as it deflated. I quickly scanned my body over, to see what damage had been caused. I noticed that my left leg was oddly bent to one side. A sharp, searing pain shot through my leg as I realized that it was broken. Damn!
I rolled the window down and glanced out, ready to give the idiot a piece of my mind, when a giant toad hopped off. My mouth dropped open. That was what had caused my accident?!
Suddenly, it leapt up into the air, gaining a huge climb, but as it did, I heard a scream. I looked up and saw some blonde haired kid, and Ri.
'Ri!' I yelled. But I suppose they were up too high to hear me since the giant toad continued to hop away, destroying the odd building here and there.
Ignoring the unbearable pain in my leg, I put my foot on the gas and sped off after it. I had to get to my sister, that was all that mattered.
I sped down the road, gaining on them, when I noticed the route they were taking. They were heading down past the sailing centre to the beach and the town's small port. I drove on, watching the toad slow down, before coming to a complete halt. Now was my chance.
I struggled to open the door without moving my leg much. I called out as loud as I could, praying that they'd hear.
'Ri!!!!' I yelled at the top of my lungs. No answer, the toad looked just about ready to move on again, so I honked the horn, and thank God it was a loud one!
'Ri! Down here!' I yelled again. This time, the toad lowered its giant head, and I noticed a pipe in it's mouth. I sweat dropped and sighed. This day couldn't get any weirder, could it?
'Noah!' I heard my sister cry, jumping down from the toad's head when it was low enough on the ground. She ran towards the car, her face pale with worry. On coming closer, I noticed the tears escaping down her face, something that I hadn't seen my younger sister do for years.
Ri never cried, not even when our dog died, not even when she was being picked on in the 3rd grade, not even when she broken her arm, she never cried. She just got on with it, like nothing was wrong. But this, this was different, different for Ri.
'Oh my God, Noah!' She cried, reaching the car, and throwing her arms around me tightly.
'Ri, are you alright?' I asked, hugging her back. Her hands gripped my t-shirt tightly, and she burried her head into my shoulder.
'I missed you! I thought I'd never see you again!' she sobbed. I smiled softly to myself and hugged her tighter.
'Are you hurt, No?' she asked, her voice muffled in my shoulder. I sighed.
'I think my leg's broken,' I told her. She pulled away and looked at the injured leg. She turned around.
'NARUTO!' she yelled. Suddenly, a blonde haired kid in an electrician's suit appeared.
'Ri-chan?' he asked, appearing behind her.
'Naruto, it's my brother, his leg's broken, do you know any medical procedures?' she asked desperately. Naruto sweat dropped and rubbed the back of his head.
'Uh, no, gomen, but I know someone who does!' He grinned, putting his hands behind his head.
'Who! Where are they? Noah needs to see a doctor now!' Ri yelled, standing up.
'Noah? I thougt he looked like Sasuke-kun for a second!' he laughed. Ri's face reddened. She grabbed the collar of Naruto's jacket collar.
'Look, we don't have any time to be laughing and fooling around, okay pal? My brother needs medical help and there's no one on this damn planet that I know who can help! So quit messing and take us to this doctor!' she yelled. Naruto looked shocked.
'Ri, it's alright,' I tried to soothe her. 'Put him down,' I ordered. She stared him down for a few more seconds before letting go of his jacket and letting him go. Naruto was still a bit shaken up but he soon straightened up.
'Okay, we have to get him out of that thing,' Naruto said.
'It's a car,' Ri told him, helping me out of the car. Naruto appeared at my side and helped me out.
'So you're Noah, right?' he asked, grinning.
'Yeah, and you're Naruto I'm guessing?' I smirked.
'You got it,' he winked. 'Okay, Ri-chan, we've gotta get Noah-san onto the back of Cheif Toad, okay?'
My sister nodded and the two of them lifted me up and walked towards the giant toad, which lowered its head. They got on and Ri and Naruto set me down, careful of my injured leg.
'Hold on Noah,' Ri yelled, holding onto me as the giant toad suddenly leapt up. My head started to spin, this was making me dizzy. The toad landed and jumped again, landed and jumped, landed and jumped...
'Noah, are you alright?' Naruto called back. In return, I gave him a shaky thumbs up. He nodded and grinned, soon turning back to face the front of his toad. We endured the jumping and landing a little while longer before we'd reached the outskirts of the city. Here it was just wide open space and the road. To one side of the main road, there was a forrest, the toad made its way carefully through the trees, surprisingly without causing any damage, when we came to a large cave mouth. The toad finally stopped and Ri helped me down again, with the aid of Naruto.
'SAKURA-CHAN!!!' Naruto yelled into the cave, as they helped me towards it.
'BAKA!' yelled a pink haired girl, who came storming out of the cave. She looked pretty hacked off.
'What's your deal!?' she demanded. 'We're supposed to be keeping a low profile until Kakashi Sensei gets back and you and Sasuke-kun go off and-'
'Naruto here said that you were a medical expert. My brother has broken his leg, can you fix it for him? Please?' Ri interrupted, her tone desperate. The pink haired girl's face softened and soon there was a smile pasted onto it.
'Of course I can help him, come inside,' she smiled, leading the way in. We followed her in and she carried on in a tiny bit deeper into the cave. The cave was huge on the inside, and was quite bright, and full of belongings. It was almost like a mini camp had been set up in here. The pink haired girl cleared a bed and ordered Ri and Naruto to lay me down.
'On here,' she instructed. The two carefully lay me down and the pink haired girl rolled up her sleeves of the black shirt she wore. She also had on a green army vest type jacket. She pushed a clip on one of the holders and took out some gloves. She put them on and carefully tried to roll up the toruser leg of my black, skinny jeans. I flinched in pain.
'Sorry, but these are too tight, I need to get a good look at the damage first. You don't mind if I cut trough them, do you?' she asked. I grinded my teeth together.
'Go for it, just make it quick, please? I think I'm dying here,' I mumbled. She nodded and pulled out a knife like dagger thing, and cut through the material. She nodded to herself and bit her lip. I looked at my deformed leg. I felt sick suddenly.
The pink haired girl began doing some fancy work with her hands, making weird signs before they began to glow and faint bluey-green color. My eyes widend and Ri gasped, as the pink haired girl raised her hands over my broken leg.
'Hey! What do you think you're doing!?' Ri yelled, stepping forward.
'Ri, it's all right. It's making the pain go away,' I said, raising a hand. She stepped back and folded her arms.
'That's right, I'm just easing the pain first, before I can put a splint on it and re-shape it,' Pinkie told us. 'Oh, and by the way, I'm Sakura,' she laughed giving us a closed eyed smile. I smiled back.
'I'm Noah, and this is my little sister Ri,' I smiled. Ri huffed and turned away. Sakura smiled. The pain in my leg began to fade away she called Naruto over.
'Hold this and don't let go,' she ordered, holding the splint in place. Naruto held it while Sakura began healing again. My leg began to look normal again and I couldn't feel any pain at all.
'Alrighty then, I want you to stand up for me,' Sakura said, when she'd finished her healing. I looked at her.
'Are you crazy Pinkie?' Ri growled. 'His leg was just broken and now you want him to stand up and walk about?!'
'I've healed it, he should be able to walk on it now, all he needs to do is keep it in this splint and the rest of the healing will continue natrually,' she explained. Ri frowned, but I slowly lifted myself up, before standing on my good leg. I was reluctant to put down my injured leg, but Sakura insisted. So I did. I winced a little. It felt like a sprain, but it definately wasn't broken anymore.
'That's some scary magic you got there,' I told her. Sakura raised an eyebrow.
'Magic? Really? I've use medical ninjutsu to heal you, not magic,' she laughed. Ri huffed again.
'Thank you for your help,' I grinned.
'Yeah, thanks,' Ri cut in.
'You're welcome!' Sakura smiled. 'So where are you guys from? I haven't seen you back in Konoha,'
'What on earth is a Konoha?' I asked, resting against the bed.
'It's the village where we live,' Naruto grinned.
'We're not from this Konoha place, we're from the city, here,' Ri explained.
'I see,' Sakura smiled. 'Can you tell us where we are?'
'You're in the outskirts of the city,' I told her.
'Oh,' she sighed. 'Do you know how to get to Konoha from here?'
'You could get a taxi, but-,'
'A taxi? What's that?'
'It's like a car. But no one's around anymore, it's like they just vanished into thin air...' Ri trailed off.
'No way,' Naruto gasped. 'Sakura, do you think that these guys have something to do with the summoning?!'
'Maybe...would you guys be able to wait here for a while? I think you might be able to help us,' Sakura asked.
'Sorry, but we've got problems of our own. Our house has been raided by a reincarnated, creepier version of Michael Jackson that plays with creepy snakes and a real life Harry Potter, who goes by the name of Kabuto,' Ri snapped. Sakura's face paled and Naruto's eyes widened.
'That's right, I forgot, Sasuke's back fighting them off, I said I'd go back and help him!' Naruto yelled, running out of the cave.
'Naruto wait!' Sakura called. 'We can't just rush in there! We have to trust Sasuke-kun to this fight and wait for his return. You two weren't even supposed to leave the cave!'
Naruto stopped and sighed.
'Fine, but if he doesn't get back before Kakashi Sensei, then I'm going back,' Naruto said, grinding his teeth together.
'If you're going back, then you'll need me, I know how to get there,' Ri said, taking a sudden interest in the conversation. I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at my sister, who avoided eye contact with me. Strange, was this Sasuke perhaps another boy that had caught my little sister's eye?
