Chapter 2

!In this chapter abuse will be mentioned!

The mein door of the Lightwood residence slammed close, the young teen cringing at the loud sound, having a headache all morning he really did not need his mother scolding him about his rude manners.

Walking up the stares he heard his name being called half way up. He stopped and slowly turned around knowing it was his mother who called, ready to tell him off for being unnecessarily loud.

However the moment he saw her he froze in place, brushed and blood linking down from a cut on her forehead. She seemed scared... He too felt his heart sink in his chest, his hair to stand up and cold sweat form when he noticed his father who gestured him to follow, his mother shaking her head, trembling, no do not follow.

But Alec did.

Maybe it was fear? Worry? He still could not tell why he followed.

The moment he entered in his father's office and heard the lock close behind him, he regretted everything.

The things his father said, he doesn't dare speak, of how, without any proof accused him of having intimacy with the neighbor's kid that was twice his age.

Alec had never spoken to that kid, rather, the man.

Yet his father thought so, and confidently as well. He said a lot more things than that... A lot that he can not remember, it was as if the entire time his brain blocked his ears... Or was it his hands.

He can't remember most of it.

He should be happy he thought, but could not. Why was he accused of sleeping around at sixteen when all he did was go to school and back home everyday just to avoid the inevitable yelling.

His dad, Robert, would break things and even force him watch some things to show him how intercorse should be done. The right way.

Alec remembers himself yelling back, to stop already, that he will never act on it, to never do it if it meant for Robert to let him be.

Robert never touched Alec, he thought of him as an illness, a punishment upon his perfect family. Alec found himself in his room hitting himself because he knew how much it would hurt his mother if he cut. They were both in this and had agreed to not leave the other behind.

Sometimes it was too much.

Sometimes he screamed in his pillow and cried silent tears.

Those kind of memories woke him up wrenched in sweat. Alec up to this day can not regret running away at sixteen with the help of his mother, leaving Izzy and Max behind. It would either have been that or...

He still remembers how much he cried when Maryse managed to divorce Robert  and take custody of Max and Izzy. The happiness, the relief.

However, what makes him feel on edge is that Izzy and Max don't know. Maryse had made multiple sharp comments but only the ones related with the several mistresses Robert had. Alec wants to tell them, at least Izzy, Max is too young. But he is afraid he won't be able, that he will cry, it brings him so much same when it shouldn't. He is not ready and neither is Maryse, she feels ashamed for not divorcing Robert sooner, when it was still early and Alec would have been safe. But that too late.

~

Alec sat on his couch, he didn't sleep much, not as much as he wanted at least. Izzy still hasn't arrived so he decided to check up on her. Frowning when he saw a text from an unknown number, the only thing he needed to do is read the first line to block it immediately.

Henry and him used to date but after Henry made some odd remarks, like his odd and upsetting fantasies, soon everything started to get too mutch. And once Henry realised Alec was loosing interest and quickly he became clingy, jealous. Henry just became too mutch for Alec to manage, so he broke up with him.
Alec happen to give a chance to a person who was interested in him thinking he too will come to like Henry, he didn't.

It's been almost a year of confusion and frustration on Alec's part. Henry would send desperate apologies and pleas to Alec through different numbers but at times he would cuss him out and even sent videos of him and other guys.

The whole experience was upsetting.

Alec felt embarrassed for going for the first man that was interested in him. He tried to reach the police about it but Henry is the son of the police chief, he let it be, not wanting to attract attention to the matter.

Ashamed for being desperate, he thought.

His phone rang, an unknown number. He thought for a moment, maybe he should answer it, it might be Izzy's friends, so he did.

"Are you going to make kiss your ass to forgive -"

Alec hang up and blocked the new number. Is he not tired to get a new number every month, week, he has lost count.

He called Izzy who answered seconds later, "Hello, I told you I would call you, dont need to worry yourself." Izzy assured him.

Alec looked outside, it was indeed still very early. "Just wanted to check, still, tell me if you need anything."

"Actually, if you don't mind, can I have a sleepover this weekend? I know I haven't even moved in for a week and maybe you don't feel comfortable with my friends around, so do tell me if you are not okay with it." Izzy spoke.

Alec smiled softly, he did not mind at all. "Izzy, I am fine with it, truly. I will be at work anyways."

"Alec, you do tend to put your needs below mine. It's your house, if you don't feel comfortable we can do it at jace's place." Izzy assured him, knowing full well that if not there will be some difficulties.

Clary's mom is overprotective and does not like how her brilliant and creative daughter is with someone like Jace.
Simon's mother is even worse.

"Izzy, seriously I am okay with it... As long as you order food and not make your own I do not mind." Alec laughed at Izzy's silence.

"... It's getting old."
Izzy signed, knowing full well it will never end.

"Come back home before it's gets dark."
Alec said before hanging up, deciding to watch some TV to pass time.

-

Izzy walked in with Clary following closely behind, Alec was there dressed more casual than before, clearly ready to go out.

"Someone is deceased nicely."
Izzy comments with a smirk.

Alec immediately shut her down, all her hopes that Alec may perhaps be meeting with someone other than the classic gang. "I will  send your regards to Rafael, how have you been clary?"

Clary was friends with Izzy from junior high years, Alec met Clary occasionally when he dropped by Maryse's place to see Izzy.

"I'm all good what about you?"
Clary greeted back, Alec shrugging, saying something about his kitchen being burned.

"Alec!"
Izzy half yelled.

"I will be on my way now." Alec enounced, clearly having waited till Izzy got home before making his leave.

After the door was closed behind him Clary asked with a slight worry, "I hope he does think bad of me."

"Why would you say that?"
Izzy asked, getting the phone to order some food.

"I don't, its just... His tone? His face?"

"That's just his resting face, yes hello?"
Izzy spoke to the phone mid through her sentenced while Clary moved on to the couch to see if anything good is on TV.

After the food had arrived Izzy and Clary watched some TV while making small talk and remarks about the first day.

"Rachel seriously needs to move on."
Clary agreed.

"...Do you think Simon may confess this year?" Izzy asked.

"To be honest, I don't think so. Even if he says that this year will be different, he has been saying so ever since you too crossed paths." Clary admitted.

Izzy sighed, "Three years... If this time is the same I may as well do it myself."

Clary hammed in agreement.

-

Alec came back filling mutch better, having cleared his head. "Izzy, I'm home."

"Don't you have work?"
Izzy asked, walking up to him.

"No, Rafael will cover for me... Today at least." Alec said with a smile.

Izzy beamed, "Great! We can watch a movie and cuddle like we used when we were kids!"

Alec nodded in agreement and like that, they settled in, a soft blanket over them, both of them leaning on eachother and while watching Garfield the movie.

"How was the first day of school?"
Alec asked, casually.

"It was okay, the usual. Rachel was acting like a child and the teachers remain this year as well, pricks with a stick up-"
"-Okay, got it."
