Summer 5
“Argh… My head—ugh!”
Beomgyu started coughing and went to the sink to have his hangover vomit then look for cold water after cleaning himself. When he opened the fridge, he was surprised to see some hangover bottles. He grabs one and decided to drink it.
After couple of minutes, his phone vibrated and quickly opens it to answer the call that lasted for almost ten minutes. After that, Beomgyu head down to his auntie to ask for what happened.
“I what!? Paid the teammates food!? I did!?” he exclaims with his large doe eyes and he blink twice. “Why? W-why did I do that?”
“You were so drunk, punk,” Aunt Ren laughs. “Just joking, Taehyun paid it with Yeonjun’s money.”
“Ah auntie!” Beomgyu stomps his feet and held his chest. “I almost died in heart attack!” he complaints and open his phone to see if he really sent money and there are no any notifications with regards it.
Aunt Ren continues to laughs and asks, “Are you feeling well now? Yeonjun had to carry you up until your bed,” she stated.
That grabs Beomgyu’s attention and stares at the old lady, “R-really? Why?”
“Yes! And he even stayed up all night to take care of you,” she added that mad Beomgyu gasps. He’s now thinking if he did something weird while he was drunk because he can’t remember anything. “You shouldn’t get drunk when Yeonjun is not around— hey! Where are you going!?”
Beomgyu quickly run outside the apartment and look for Yeonjun at the court but he failed to see him around and there are basketball players instead.
“Excuse me, where are the volleyball players who always play here?” Beomgyu asks one of them.
“Today isn’t their schedule and for sure they all passed out because of their after-party,” he chuckles. “Some are probably working,” he added and excused himself.
Beomgyu went back to his aunt and ask where Yeonjun could be and she answered, “He’s at the town plaza because he’s taking care of his brother’s PC bang café.”
After that information, Beomgyu ride his bike and went to the town plaza where he can find where Yeonjun is working. There are only few establishments around so he can see him faster than expected.
“Choi PC Bang,” he reads the signage. He parked his bike and went inside. There are a lot of students who are playing loudly because it’s summer vacation and there are no classes.
Beomgyu continue to walks around and he finally sights the table where Yeonjun can be. He saw him with iced lemonade in his hand, straw stays in his mouth, while are eyes fixated on the PC screen.
He walks towards him but Yeonjun is so invested to what he’s watching which is the VNL so Beomgyu decided to pull a prank on him. “Is the PC 10, open?” he asks.
“Just check it…” Yeonjun replied without even giving him glances.
“Can you help me with it?” Beomgyu asks politely.
“Just do it, it’s not like you don’t always play in here,” he answered with a slight frown and still watching on his screen. “Just receive it properly, dummy! You’re still going to go slide two? My goodness!” he reacted with what he’s watching.
“If you’re still going to ignore me like this, I might really go then,” Beomgyu stated with his low voice.
Yeonjun quickly pulled his eyes off the screen and finally look at Beomgyu. “Oh! I’m sorry,” Yeonjun stands up and went out of his mini cubicle. “Why are you here? Did you miss me?”
“No,” Beomgyu coldly reply. “You seem busy so, I’ll just go,” he acted sulking and turn his back but Yeonjun held his wrist so he stop and hid his smile.
“I’m sorry if I left early, I have work to do so,” he explained and Beomgyu look again at him. “How are you feeling? Your head, do you feel pain? Did you drink what I put on your fridge?” he asks one by one.
“First, yes, I’m fine. Second, my head is fine as well, and third, yes I drank it,” Beomgyu smiles. “But… did I done something weird last night?”
Yeonjun breathes in and gently pinches his nose as he think, “I’m not sure, have you?”
“Hey!” Beomgyu glared at him.
“I’ll keep it for myself,” Yeonjun grins.
“Hey!” Beomgyu hits his arm. “What did I do?”
Yeonjun moves closer to his ear and whisper, “You look pretty when you’re drunk and sleeping.”
Beomgyu felt his blood rushing up on his cheeks and ears when he heard Yeonjun’s husky voice and he bit his lower lip. “You’re really a sly fox. Hitting me with those when you already hit the neighborhood’s girls.”
“Hey,” Yeonjun laughs as he saw Beomgyu pouting and blowing air on his cheeks. “I didn’t! Why are you thinking like that?” he continues laughing.
“Are you gaslighting me right now?” Beomgyu frowns.
“I’m not really!” Yeonjun laughs and he smiles. “We both agreed to just enjoy things, right? Why are you so worked up?”
“You’re right…”
Yeonjun taps Beomgyu’s shoulder to cheer him up a bit. “Don’t worry, okay? Let’s just go with the flow. Let’s just enjoy things. Let’s not overthink, okay?”
Beomgyu nods and smiles, “Right,” he chuckles. “And thank you by the way for last night… I really didn’t spend much, right?”
Yeonjun purses his lips while scratching his left right brow, “I don’t know? I was drunk too…”
“Hey!”
Yeonjun laughs, “No worries,” he assured him. “It’s not like your blackcard will get less after it,” he muttered.
“Huh? You said something?” Beomgyu frowns.
“Me? None,” Yeonjun shook his head. “Anyway, I’ll be here the whole day so just explore the town, okay? Or just wait for me but I’ll be free at six.”
Beomgyu nods, “Okay, I’ll wait for you. I’ll be at the apartment at six, will that do?”
“Of course baby, anything for you,” Yeonjun winks at him. “And you owe me one, right?”
“Oh right!” Beomgyu remembers. “Okay, later let’s talk about it. See you,” Beomgyu smiles and wave his hand in tiny before going out the café.
“He’s so cute,” Yeonjun chuckles. “How can he be so cute? Why is he so cute?” he continues wondering before sitting again. “And I even kissed that cutie? Oh come on, Yeonjun! I know you’re just so cool at everything,” he laughs at his own thought. Overconfidence is sometimes scary.
Beomgyu just stroll around, takes picture and sent it to someone. He spent the whole day exploring the town before going back to the apartment. He arrived at the floor and he saw Yeonjun waiting for him.
“How’s your strolling?” Yeonjun asks him.
“It was fun,” Beomgyu smiles. “Have you eaten dinner?” he asks next.
“Not yet,” Yeonjun answered. “Should we eat each other?”
“Huh!?”
“Together? Eat together?” Yeonjun bit his lower lip to stop from laughing at Beomgyu’s glares. “Why? I’m sorry. Let’s go, I know a good resto,” he suggested and led the way.
Beomgyu just sighs and tagged along with Yeonjun as they went outside. They decided to ride Yeonjun’s motorbike. “Come here,” Yeonjun said and put on the helmet to other.
“Thanks,” Beomgyu replied with a smile.
“Does that make your heart flutter?” Yeonjun teases him.
“No, not at all. Not even once,” Beomgyu just reply without any remorse. “Just drive.”
“This guy, really,” Yeonjun reacted and tsked.
They ride the motorbike, Beomgyu wraps his arm around Yeonjun’s waist until they reached an old pub. “What is this place?” Beomgyu asks while taking off the helmet.
“The food here is so freaking amazing you’re going to forget your name!” Yeonjun exclaimed and they made their way. “Hello ahjumma! I’m here!”
Beomgyu got startled by how Yeonjun shouted and was even surprised that there are actually a lot of people inside the pub; there are professionals, regulars, and even students.
“Oh our team captain is here!” the owner Mrs. Lee welcomed Yeonjun. She noticed Beomgyu and she smiles. “Aigoo! Are you new in the town? This is the first time I saw you.”
“Hello, I’m Choi Beomgyu,” Beomgyu introduces himself and bent a bit.
“Okay! Soup is in the house. The usual, captain?” Mrs. Lee asked Yeonjun.
Yeonjun winks, “You know what I love, ahjumma,” he chuckles after and they look for a spot.
“Sure a lot of people know you,” Beomgyu commented.
“Of course, I’m Choi Yeonjun,” he smirks in proud and Beomgyu just look at him blandly. “I’m sorry… By the way, I already thought of that one you owe me,” he said.
“How much? Should I transfer the money right away?” Beomgyu casually asks like it’s normal for him to have that money transaction.
“You,” Yeonjun pointed him. “Are you really an office worker?”
“Hmm yeah? Why?”
Yeonjun swirls his tongue to think before nodding, “It doesn’t matter anyway and I’m not talking about money, punk! We’re going to do something—”
“Just tell me if that’s sex—”
“Hey!” Yeonjun covered Beomgyu’s mouth immediately. “What are you talking about? We’re going for a camp, crazy punk,” he scolded the other.
“Oh camp? I like it! When?” Beomgyu excitedly asks.
“Tomorrow? We don’t have practice tomorrow so we can go in there,” Yeonjun planned.
“Okay! Deal,” Beomgyu shows his thumbs up in full smile then they got disturbed by a continue vibration sound of Beomgyu’s phone that is on the table.
They both look at the caller and Beomgyu stares at Yeonjun. “Answer it, I’m good,” Yeonjun permitted.
Beomgyu pick up his phone and excused himself to answer the call. Yeonjun sighs and then laughs at himself. “Whoa, he’s crazy,” he commented. “Aigoo ahjumma! Thank you so much!” he exclaimed after he see the lady with their orders approaching the table.
Beomgyu went back and put his phone inside his pocket. “Yeonjun, before we go to camp tomorrow, can you come with me?” he asks.
“Sure, where?” Yeonjun replied and started putting food on Beomgyu’s bowl.
“I want to buy a new phone,” Beomgyu answered. “The newest Sumsung model,” he added.
“I don’t think there’s a new model already in here,” Yeonjun just replied.
“Oh… then the flip phone will do,” Beomgyu nods. “Thank you for the food,” he smiles and pick up the utensils.
Yeonjun pauses and gasp. “Just how rich is this man,” Yeonjun muttered before eating. “Beomgyu, if you’re just going to hide things, why not buy a cheaper phone then?”
“Are you a cheap one? Our memories need to be stored in high quality,” Beomgyu stated.
“O-our memories…” Yeonjun giggles. “Hey, you’re making my heart beats so fast,” he chuckles.
“Of course, I’m Choi Beomgyu.”
