Chapter 46 : Kind Date

I'm not really sure if where will Jimin take me today. I know that he's full of surprises that's why I'm expecting so much for this day.

Instead of wearing something girly, I went with my usual casual style. I don't really like the idea of dressing up. I know I have to, but Jimin already knows me, he would be surprised if he saw me wearing something that I don't usually wear.

Therefore I decided to just wear an oversized black shirt with the words 'unstoppable' printed on it, track pants, and a pair of white shoes.

I don't want to seem like I'm excited that we're going out today. It's not like the first time that we hang out together. But in reality, this whole thing is making me frenzied.

When I finished putting on light makeup and straightened my hair in front of the mirror, I grabbed my phone and was about to go out, but then I stopped walking when I saw the PRKR paper bag on the corner of my room.

I grab the paper bag and took out the ring cap that I bought before. I placed it neatly on my head and I'm glad that I'm not wearing glasses anymore. Because whenever I wear caps, it touches the frame of my eyeglasses and it feels uncomfortable.

When I got into the living room, it was empty. A sign that it's still early for Jimin and I's date. I just sat on the couch as I patiently wait.

Later on, someone rang the doorbell, I run silently to open the door for the guest, and as I was expecting it's Jimin.

When I looked at him, I was surprised when I saw him wearing the same ring cap that I have. Just like me, he is wearing the usual clothes he wears every time he goes out. White long sleeves and skinny jeans with a pair of combat boots on his feet and black circular shades.

I'm glad that I made the right choice to not wear a floral dress.

"You got one." He says and points at my ring cap.

"Yeah. It caught my attention and I thought that I should buy it." I explained.

I peeked over his shoulder and I saw his car parked at the pavement near our house. "Are you ready?" He asks and I nod my head.

The car ride is a little quiet, except for the Chris Brown music that plays on his radio. "So you like Chris Brown?" I ask.

"I don't." He replies with a short answer.

"Then why do you always listen to him?"

"I listen to his music and that's different." He says, his eyes are focused on the road.

That was the end of our conversation inside the car, only four lines. I was disappointed. It seems like Jimin didn't anticipate this day as much as I do. Still, it's a good thing that he's the one who asked to go out today. Maybe he's just nervous? Because I told him yesterday that I'll consider this as a date.

When was he nervous anyway?

I just stayed silent as I let him drive the car on the roads of LA to where he's going to take me for today. Once he stopped the engine, we arrived at a luxurious restaurant and I feel like it's inappropriate for us to wear something like these.

I just trailed behind Jimin when we got out and I heard that he already made a reservation. My cheeks automatically blushed because of it. He really did prepare for this day, although he is not that enthusiastic as I thought he would be.

Later on, the waiter handed us the menus and waited for us to take our orders. "Go choose whatever you want, it's all on me," Jimin assures and I nod.

He let me order my food first and I told the waiter a dish that looks like a beefsteak in the picture and an iced tea. When I was done enumerating the food that I wanted, Jimin was next and he tells the waiter a ton of name dishes.

"Can you eat all of that?" I whisper-yelled at him.

"No, but you can." He smirks and I twitch the side of my lips. What is he doing?

Later on, the waiter gave us appetizers while we wait for our main dishes. "So why did you bring me here?" I started the conversation first.

"No particular reason. Just the fact that you love eating." He says and I'm a little offended by it. Well, it's not that he's lying, but can he at least sugarcoat the last part? He must've noticed that I eat a lot whenever Lana and I eat with his friends during lunch break at the campus.

A few minutes later after a few chitchats, the waiter is holding a big tray with a variety of foods on it on his hands. He carefully places the dishes on our table and once he was done he left.

The dish I ordered is nothing compared to the rest of the foods in front of me. "Close your mouth and just start eating." Jimin wakes me up and I immediately closed my mouth.

That was a very embarrassing thing to do Elise. My subconscious lectures me.

"Eat anything that you like, stop acting like you're on a diet when you don't even know that word." He teases and I glare at him.

I sliced the meat on my plate and chewed it inside my mouth. After finishing my dish, I was not contented. I feel like I wanted more and I want to try the other meals that Jimin ordered.

I hesitantly took a chicken wing from a dish and I saw Jimin smiling. "Jimin," I called and he looks. "Can I order another cup of rice?" The smile on his lips widens while he nods. "Thanks."

I slowly raise my hand to gather the attention of any employee walking around. Once I did, I told him that I wanted another cup of rice and he nods at me before fleeing back inside the restaurant's kitchen.

Minutes passed and I already tasted everything on the table.

I'm fortunate that I'm wearing an oversized shirt, therefore I don't have to worry about my huge belly sticking out of my shirt because I ate too much. It's just a pity that I'm wearing track pants, the garter is adding pressure to my stomach and I feel like anytime it'll explode.

Not my pants but my stomach.

"Elise, there is something on your..." He points at the side of his lips.

"Huh?" He shakes his head before grabbing the napkin next to him.

Oh, I know this! Are those scenes in the movies wherein the guy would wipe off the dirt near the woman's lips?

I patiently waited for him to do what I'm expecting.

But I ended up sighing in disappointment. "Here." He hands me the napkin with a smirk on his face.

I snatched the napkin from his hand and wiped the side of my lips on my own instead.

"So where are we going after this?" We just finished eating lunch and I'm back to being fully charged now.

Seconds later the waiter approached us and he mistakenly gives me the check. I smiled at the waiter as he stood there waiting for me to take out my money.

I looked at Jimin and he shrugs with a playful sneer.

I awkwardly opened the check and my pupils dilated on how expensive our meals cost. I immediately closed it and passed it onto Jimin. He expertly catches it and I hear him laugh. Jimin hands his credit card to the waiter. Once the waiter got what he needed, he left us with a confused look.

Seconds later the waiter returned with Jimin's card and he left a tip for the guy.

Jimin is secretly soft-hearted and I can say that when he does small actions like this. Usually, people with golden spoons shoved inside their mouths care too much about their money that they won't even pay a tip for waiters. That's not being thrifty, that's greed.

The car ride was silent again and I was annoyed. I still have no idea where we're going next, but I'm leaving it all onto him.

While we are inside the car and the traffic is a little bad I felt my phone buzzing inside my bag and I quickly grabbed it.

The moment I saw the caller's ID, I immediately put it back inside my bag. Once the vibration was gone, I took it again and turned my phone off.

Not now Ryan.

The moment we passed the heavy traffic jam we finally found ourselves walking around an arcade. "Oh yeah. I like games. Great." I sarcastically remarked which made him chuckle and attempted to ruffle my hair but I'm wearing a cap.

"You'll love this." He assures with a smile as he puts his hand down.

The games we were playing subsequently proved that this is somehow fun. Instead of fighting each other using a toy gun, we teamed up while we defeat robots on the screen. I found out that I was good at driving when I won on a race driving over Jimin. I knew he was not losing purposely because he was getting frustrated authentically.

I was empty-handed from those hideous claw machines but when I stopped to watch Jimin play it he actually got three Pokémon stuffed toys in just four tries, specifically Charmander, Pikachu, and Snorlax.

I thought he is getting them for me but he wasn't. He is really a selfish nut sometimes. I literally begged him to give me Pikachu, but he says that Pikachu is his favorite so he gave me Charmander instead, while he keeps the other two.

This is not keeping up with my ideal date with him, at least I'm surprised. He really is fleeing away from the typical guy on romantic dates, it's annoying but cute as well.

When we were walking around, I asked him to play that mini hockey game on the other side and he refused. But I was being really persuasive, so I practically pulled him over the thing.

If that was even called being persuasive than being forceful.

Now I know why he refuses to play it, he sucks at it. I was literally laughing the whole three rounds. He can't even protect his goal. He only watches the puck carefully but his movements are very slow.

When we headed out of the arcade and we took a walk inside the mall, I kept teasing him about our hockey game earlier and he was mad but he is great at keeping his cool.

We stopped upon another PRKR store and I followed him when he went inside.

He looks around the branch of his father's business. He is checking the clothes, but I know he's not here to buy something. He's just here to look and observe.

Suddenly something fell on the floor and we both turned to see what it is. There's an old lady who fell on the floor and the saleslady who's standing in front of her is not even helping her.

I stepped forward in an attempt to do the thing that the saleslady could've done earlier but Jimin stopped me by blocking his arm on my way. "She's hurt!" I hissed at Jimin, but his eyes are still focused on the incident.

There are only a few people around the shop, and most of them are not giving any attention to what is happening.

The level of being indifferent to some human beings are amazing.

"You've asked me every size of this design and I went back and forth from the stocks room just to give your needs, now you're saying that you wanted a different one. Are you kidding?" The saleslady complains as the old lady slowly gets up.

"I just want a nice gift for my son." The old woman's voice is shaky. She pulls out her wallet and took $5.

"There's no product in here that goes around $5 and below." The saleslady snickers.

"Actually there is." Jimin butts in. The saleslady looks at him with an angry face. Jimin slowly walks towards the two people as I watch from behind.

"Now grandma, can you tell me the design that you want." Jimin smiles at the old lady. She then points at the mannequin wearing a black shirt with printed designs specifically for men.

"Nice choice grandma. I heard that's only $5." He lies and Jimin nods at the saleslady to get the thing and the employee obliged.

When the saleslady returned she rudely passes the item to the old lady and Jimin jaws clenches. "I want you to get me a new stock of that, two of this, that one in red, also that lovely dress on the mannequin, that denim overall and the black ring cap." Jimin points at the things displayed inside the store.

The saleslady looked at him with wide eyes. "If you get one thing wrong, I'm calling your manager." Jimin threatens.

The saleslady immediately moved and I watch her enter the stocks room as she picks the items that Jimin pointed at earlier. Her memory was actually good and she got it all when she got out.

She placed them inside a small shopping basket and gave it to Jimin. "Call your manager." Jimin orders.

"Why would I? He's busy doing something in the office." The saleslady fights back.

"Call him, or you'll regret not doing it yourself," Jimin said, there is something scary in Jimin's voice that made the saleslady follow him instantly.

She entered a room and afterward she came out with a guy in a full button-up shirt. When the said manager saw Jimin, he bowed at him.

What the hell?

"Mr. Park, it's good to see you here." The guy reaches out for Jimin's hand and he courteously shakes it. "What brings you here boss?" The saleslady was dumbfounded the moment she heard her boss calling Jimin a boss.

"Your employee is causing an uproar in your store and she's being rude to a customer. Don't you think that's a little inappropriate?" Jimin informs with a smile and the manager looks at the saleslady with a frown.

"I'm really sorry Mr. Park we'll make sure it won't happen again and as for my employee, I'll put her on probation again, she is a new employee." The manager bows again and the saleslady gapes at what she heard.

"It's okay. Now, I want all of these, including grandma's item." Jimin smiled at the old lady and it was heartwarming.

Later on, Jimin checked out the items on the cashier and he gave the dress that is also displayed on the store's mannequin to the old lady as a gift. He gave three items free for her.

"Thank you, child." The old lady smiles at him before waving goodbye.

When Jimin walked over to my direction he hands me the black ring cap, a shirt, and overall denim. "What's these?" I ask.

"Clothes you'll wear on our next date." He smiles.

This idiot, I know he only bought it to confuse the saleslady earlier.

Nevertheless, at least he gave me something and I should be grateful for it. These clothes are probably expensive.

He really is kind, how I wish I treat him that way as well.
