Hot summer day

(Emil's P.O.V)

I've never thought about my future after highschool. I really don't plan to either. I'll just go with the flow, but one thing I do have in mind is to stay alone, and live alone. Alright, maybe Leon is an acception. I'd rather live alone though, far and isolated away from other people.
Then I wouldn't have to worry or stress about anything.
Technically, I guess I already shut in people.
I may not have a planned life ahead for me but I have a general idea, which is good.
A black feather fluttered down and I felt a small weigh rest on my shoulder.
"You really shouldn't be thinking too much, kiddo! You'll have white hair!
Wait, you already have white hair.
You'll get wrinkles!!"
Mr. Puffin ranted.

"Ugh, I know, whatever. At this point I really don't care anymore. Also, my hair is silver not white." I mumbled the last part.

"See?? Now you're acting like an old granny. I'm going to go beat up some stuff or something before I end up like an old granny too."

I rolled my eyes. Looks like he's still acting all tough after all this time.
I suppose it can't be helped.
I really need to get some sun though, it's been a while.

After stepping outside, I immediately regretted that. I had felt the evil sun's rays blinding my eyes and the scorching hot air burn me alive.
Nope nope nope nope, too hot outside.
I dashed back inside into my room.
Wow I've nearly done anything and I'm already panting like a cat in heat.
How does anyone go outside in weather like this? And my family wonders why I never go out, ugh.
I should try to cool down a bit.
I'm up for liquorice ice cream now!

I slid off my long sleeved shirt into something that showed a bit more skin. Only my arms though. I hated the feeling of insecurity and vulnerableness especially without clothing. I quickly threw on a shirt and as it was half way on, Lukas just had to barge into my room without knocking. Like always.

"Hey bro, I just had a really good idea because I can't keep Peter calm without him bouncing off the walls."

I groaned, after putting on my shirt.

"At least knock next time you come in!"

"Anyways, you take care of Peter. I have to go grocery shopping with Mathias."

"Wait, why can't you take care of him? And what 'good idea's did you have??"

"The idea was for you to try to calm him down. I accidentally gave him too much lucky charms with a side of pop. Blame Mathias for talking me into it."

"It's an excellent idea." I replied sarcastically.

"Anyways, be back in about an hour."

Just on cue, Peter was behind him, with a goofy grin reminding me too much of Mathias.

"Can I bring a friend over?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm heading out now!" The words echoed from downstairs, and now I'm stuck babysitting a hyper 10 year old.

Great!
