Family Time

(Leon's P.O.V)

It was the next day, after my birthday. I had a lot of fun seeing the bright fireworks, as Emil held onto my hand.
I kinda liked that side of Emil last night. I laid down on my bed, staring the ceiling. Yao opened my door and smiled widely. I groaned.
"You could've just knocked."
"We're going to the beach, aru!!! Get ready, we're going now!!!"
"I don't want to go..."
"You have to."
"Fine."
I sighed, and groggily got out of bed. I grabbed my swimming trunks, sunscreen, a towel, and a hair brush. That's all I really need. I shoved them in my bag, and ran downstairs, where the rest of my siblings were.
"I call passenger seat!!!" Yong Soo shouted, fighting with Tai.
"Hey! That's not fair! I called it first!" Tai retaliated.
"I wourd suggest the two of you to do rock paper scissors..." Said Kiku.
Tai lost.
"You cheated! Best two out of three!'
"Hah! I won, and that's a no." Yong Soo said, sticking out his tongue.
During all of that I was in the washroom, slipping on my trunks.
"Aiyaa!!! Let's go! Get into the van, aru! No more fighting."
Yao sat in the driver's seat, with Yong Soo in the passenger seat.
Lien, and Mei sat in the two seats in the middle while Tai, Kiku and I sat uncomfortably at the back with everyone else's belongings. Kiku wanted to drive his own car, however his car had to get fixed.
For the rest of the ride, I fell asleep, while everyone else sang a song together. It was a boring song anyways...
Once we got there, everyone ran out of the van, screaming to the endless ocean.
"WE'RE HERE!!!" Tai, Mei, and Yong Soo yelled.
I joined in, 'cause why not?
Yao and Kiku were unloading there stuff from the van, and we began setting up. Yao had brought some cut up watermelon and shared it with the group.
"Hey! I declare a watermelon eating contest!" Said Yong Soo, holding up one of the slices.
"Fine! Let's see who wins!" I accepted the challenge.
We ate as much watermelon as we can. That was until the south Korean man decided to throw some of the bitten pieces.
"I got some smoothies! Would anyone like some!?" Tai asked.
Then a piece of watermelon landed in the drink.
"Okay then..."
"Aiyaa!!! Stop it, aru!"
"It's okay, big brother, Yao! I'll save you!" Said Lien, handing her hat to the latter.
Unfortunately, before she could place it on his head, the watermelon rind hit his forehead.
"I win!!!" I shouted, raising my hand in the air.
Yong Soo smiled.
"That was fun. Let's get changed and go to the ocean!!!"
"Oh, okay."
I didn't go into the ocean right away knowing the consequences of going into the water, without waiting for fifteen minutes. There are other things besides the ocean. Sand. Lots of it. So, I proceeded to build a sandcastle.
"Hey! Let's like, try to see who can build the best sandcastle!" I said, when I saw Kiku building one near by.
"Okay! Sensei will be the judge!" Said Mei, already starting to make one.
I resumed making one, until Yong Soo shouted
"DONE!"
Yao walked over to each sandcastle looking at it closely. I looked over at Kiku's sandcastle, and right away I knew that he would win. He had a Japanese style castle, or a 'shiro.' Only half of it was done though, but the roof looks amazing. He had an emporer and empress in front of the door. Yong Soo's castle was a hill with a hole in it. Mei's castle was similar to the ones little children make. Finally, my very own castle was like a Disney castle. It was no where done, and she I let go, it toppled over. So much for that.
"Kiku wins, aru."
"What!? That's not fair! Mine has a pool beside it! That, and sandcastles originated in Korea!" Said Yong Soo, pointing to the empty pool.
"Fine then. You come second place, aru."
"Okay."
Lien and Tai were picking up seashells during the whole castle building contest.
For the rest of the day, we swam in the ocean, splashing each other occasionally. Even Kiku joined in! It was a lot funner when everyone was with each other. Then, after the beach, we went to town, and split up into different groups. I was with Kiku. We visited a manga shop, and then we went to a black market. I was always curious about why father would go into shops like these. Then, all I saw was pitch black, and I hated the dark! So... I ran out of that store as fast as I could, panicking a bit. Mei and Lien were at the souvenir shop and they bought a baby shark in a container full of liquids. I had a feeling the shark was fake. Yao, Tai, and Yong Soo were at an ice cream shop. They bought ice cream, and had it. By then, we were all exhausted and we went back to the van. This time, Tai was in the passenger seat. I fell asleep as soon as I got to my seat. So far, this is the best summer yet.
