Louis stood in front of Elias. Elias couldn't believe it was actually him. His features changed slightly but it was still very clear that this was his childhood friend.
His once neck-long hair was cut incredibly shorter and his jaw was now littered with slight stubble that looked a bit unkempt.
"Man," Louis sighed out. He hadn't seen him in years and he couldn't believe he was standing right in front of him. What were the odds of meeting him here on vacation?
Louis smiled and pulled Elias in for a tight hug, his hand patting his friend's back, before finally pulling away after a long, hearty greeting.
"How long's it been? Four, five years?" Elias' lips switched slightly. His eyes scrutinized Louis, his thoughts wandering back to Candice just moments ago.
He looked in the direction she went for a quick second before staring back into the green eyes of Louis. "Just about that," Louis chuckled. His eyes averted to behind Elias. "Who's the chick that was with you just a moment ago?" He smiled.
Elias continued to stare at Louis, "How about we talk about what you've been doing for the past five years, hm?"
The green-eyed boy showed Elias his teeth in a grin, "You've never been one for beating around the bush. Guess you haven't changed."
Elias gave a simple shrug, "Can't say the same about you," Louis didn't miss the double meaning in his statement, but chose to ignore it.
They both began to walk, Elias whipping out his phone and sending a quick text to Candice and telling her that he'll be back in a bit, and to find Angel if she was through before he arrived.
"What's the word, Hamilton?" Elias doesn't waste any time in speaking as he sits down across from Louis.
Louis rubbed his palms together, the friction creating a dry sound. "Just here with a couple of friends, can't complain," He explains.
Elias leans back and hums out a response, "How's your mother?"
Louis' face hardens, "Alive, and that's about all I know," He shrugs uncaringly. They did not by any means have a good relationship, especially since his father started drinking.
"She calls once in a while, booked this plane ticket for me and now, here I am."
Elias knew that Louis had had it rough these past couple of years, "Still in school?"
Louis looked up at the guy he always considered his brother, "Barely, but my friends always make the experience fun," He chuckles as he rests an arm behind his head. "But let's talk about you, Dankworth." He paused. "Still a virgin?" He smirked.
They last saw each other when they were about thirteen and Louis always felt superior when he lost his virginity at the age of twelve.
Elias licked his bottom lip, "Maybe. What's it to you?"
Elias lost his virginity at 16, a little more than a year ago. He had sex countless times since then, but yet with the same girl. He liked her, a lot, and he thought that she reciprocated the feelings. She was more experienced than him and seemed to want to be fucked by him every night.
Turned out that she never really returned feelings for him; mutual ones at least. It was all physical attraction for her; lust. Elias spoiled her for other men. The way he took her body to heights that she had never been as he drove orgasm after orgasm out of her shocked her up to this moment.
Up to this day, she still didn't believe that she was the first girl that he fucked, he was too fucking good at it.
"I guess that's a yes," Louis laughed. Elias simply gave another shrug. Louis didn't have to know about his business, let him assume what he wants. "I heard you replaced me, Dankworth."
Elias tilted his head, a crooked smirk on his face, "Don't always believe what you hear, Hamilton."
The blond-haired boy shrugs his shoulders. "Good point," He then made a quick movement of his eyes in looking behind himself. Louis snorted before looking back at Elias, then checking his watch, "I should go now, friends are waiting for me. And I assume you have to go back to that blonde hottie you were holding onto over there," He smirked as he pointed to the area where Elias and Candice stood.
Elias forced a smile. He didn't appreciate him talking about Candice in such a way, but he tried to imagine that it was just some innocent teasing.
Louis stood up and Elias did the same, "We'll meet up sometime," He slipped his phone over to Elias and Elias returned the gesture before putting in his digits, Louis doing the same.
Louis gave one more firm nod in Elias' direction before turning around and running off to some guy with light bleached blond hair.
Candice peeked her head out from the restroom and looked to her left in the direction that Elias was prior.
She lets out a sigh of relief when she doesn't see him anymore, nor the guy that he was speaking to.
She stepped out from her origin of hiding as she ran her hand through her hair and turned to head in the other direction.
She jumped a few inches in the air and placed a hand on her bosoms, a shrill scream escaping her lips.
"Elias!" She breathes in exasperation. "You scared me, don't do that," She stumbled over her words.
Elias remained in his position leaning against the wall of the restrooms, his arms folded strongly against his arms.
"What are you doing here?" She spoke again since she was greeted with silence.
He shrugged his shoulders, "Just waiting for you to come out, pretty upset stomach you had to have there," His lips quirked.
Candice blushed deeply, rubbing the palm of her hand up and down her forearm.
She chose not to answer since she knew that he knew that she didn't actually have to use the bathroom.
"Let's go swimming," Candice was happy that he dropped the subject.
Candice giggles as she wipes a towel through her hair, Elias doing the same.
"That was fun," The girl runs to walk in front of Elias so that she was facing him and her form was walking backward.
Elias hums and sweeps his hair from his face, "It was."
Candice smiles, "Hey, can I-" She stops midway and lets out a quick squeak as she falls backward.
She then lets out a sigh of relief as she feels the palms of her hands gripping onto firm, hard biceps.
She looks up and meets Elias' dark eyes, a small breath passing her lips.
Elias felt it.
"You should really watch where you're going," His voice was slightly teasing as he whispered in front of her.
Candice slowly trailed up her arms up to his naked shoulders, watching as Elias' jaw gritted at the action. Her arms began to move further up until they looped around his neck and his eyes turned slightly to the left to observe the action.
"Why, when I have you to catch me?" Her voice was a gentle caress to his ears as she spoke.
His grip tightened on her hips, his hands leaving a burning trail as he rose them slightly higher to situate them on her waist.
Elias leaned in slowly, his eyes trailing her features with the same pace. He wanted to remember the flushed state of her cheeks and parted lips before he had to claim her lips as his.
Candice swallowed when she saw his face getting gradually.
"Woah, look what we have here," For once, Elias didn't want to bash Leon's face in, especially since it wasn't him who interrupted them.
Elias placed Candice on her feet again before looking at her slowly beginning to pale, and he doubted that it was from their almost kiss.
"What do you want, Hamilton? Didn't we already reunite?" Elias was impatient and everyone around him knew it from the tone of his voice. His eyes zoomed in on the two boys behind Louis, one with short black hair and the one he saw earlier with light bleached hair.
Elias noticed Candice trembling and the first thought was that it was maybe because she just got out of the water, but he wasn't that small-minded. Something was wrong.
Her head was cast down to the floor, her hair a curtain and blocking her face, and she didn't seem like herself at all right now.
Without another thought, he raised a hand and pulled her close to his side, hand resting on her tiny waist.
"Well, Dankworth, I just came over to say hello to the little lady," He began to nod his head in approval as he swept his eyes over her.
Elias looked down at Candice shortly, noticing how she still refused to look up. "She's shy," He said finally. "How about you introduce me to your crew?"
His thumb drew reassuring circles on Candice's bare skin that he noticed relaxed her, but only slightly.
Louis smirked, "These two?" He asked. "Ryder and Kenneth," He pointed to the blond-haired boy and afterward, the black-haired one respectively.
At the mention of their names, Candice began to tense up again, and Elias took that as his cue.
Elias looked at both boys and nodded in acknowledgment.
"You know," Louis started before Elias could get another word in. He ducked his head slightly as he tried to get a peek at the girl, "It's not nice to avoid eye contact." Louis teased.
He stepped forward and Elias immediately held up a hand, "I said- she's shy," His words held no argument, and dared Louis to question or defy him in any way.
Louis tilted his head to the side as he stared at Elias, before drifting his eyes back down to the girl with no face.
He then held up two fingers and pointed to the direction of the pool for the other guys to follow, "I'll guess I'll see you, later."
"Don't count on it," Elias didn't miss a beat at his response.
Louis swiped his tongue on his top row of teeth, his lips twitching at the corners. He shook his head for a final time before walking off without another word.
Elias turned both of them around; Candice and him, to go and look for Anthony, Leon, and Angel after he stared at Louis' retrieving back.
Candice finally looked up, noticing how his hand was still on her waist. She tried to find the right words to say as she watched him stare straight ahead.
"Thanks," She finally decided on saying.
Elias didn't even look down at her as he muttered, "Don't mention it." And he was serious, he didn't want her to mention it at all. Elias should be able to say that he knows Louis, but instead, he had to say that he knew Louis 5 years ago.
Whatever it was that had Candice so scared to even looked at Louis, he didn't want to know, at least not yet. Because if he did, he'd have to confront Louis about it, and if he got one answer that he didn't like from him- enough said.
