Chapter 6

Leon^

Elias listened as Candice talked on and on about her favorite book. He couldn't remember the name, but that was probably because he was focusing too much on her melodic voice, rather than her actual story.

They arrived by the front door of the beach house, and if Candice noticed the luxury of it, she didn't comment. She just continued to speak as Elias nodded his head along, a soft smile on his lips at her antics.

He didn't know why but he found himself releasing a breath when she didn't ask any questions pertaining to the size or cost of the suite.

They both heard chatter and light music as Elias pulled his keycard from his back pocket and swiped it in its rightful slot.

The pair both heard light pop music as the door swung open, the lights low and quiet chatter around the room.

Anthony was the first one to come up to Elias as he saw the door open up, a wide-hipped dark skin beauty attached to his side.

"Hey," He smiled at the girl. He had finally got to see her and meet her up close. She was a pretty little thing, he concluded.

Candice shyly tucked her hair behind her ear, "Hey there," She smiled charmingly at him. "I'm Candice," She introduced politely.

Anthony looked at her hand then rested a larger smile on his face. He took her soft hand in his, giving it a firm handshake before looking down at the girl in his arms. "This is Angel," He said.

Candice looked to Elias before shaking the girl's hand, Angel returning the same smile as her. "And that's Elias," Anthony pointed to the boy.

Angel turned her attention to him and shook his hand, "It's nice to meet both of you." She started as she looked between the pair. "Anthony's told so much bout you," She directed her attention solely to Elias this time. Well, as much as he could tell her in the few hours that they knew each other.

Elias didn't get to reply because Leon shouted, "What's taking you guys so long? Come on," He sounded incredibly impatient. For what? Elias didn't know.

Elias gave Anthony a look, one what he knew meant. "Hey, Angel, could you show Candice to the kitchen and get her something to drink?"

Candice looked to Elias, wondering if it was okay to wander about his house without his permission. He stepped close to her form, gently rubbing her arm which caused goosebumps to form.

"It's okay, go ahead, get comfortable. I'll be there in a sec," He smiled reassuringly.

Candice tilted her head to the side which resulted in her hair falling from behind her ear. Elias had the sudden urge to tuck it back in its rightful place. He surely didn't hesitate as he did just that, his rough fingers grazing against her soft and delicate neck.

Candice blushed at the action, her eyes trained on Elias' face. She quickly snapped out of his trance as his hand dropped back to his side.

She didn't reply, instead, she just turned on her heel after sending him a smile and left.

Elias watched as she left as he cracked his knuckles in the process. It didn't take long for Anthony to walk to his side, his voice a low murmur.

"I know that look," Anthony pointed at Elias' face as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms across his chest.

Elias ignored that statement and clenched his jaw, "There're two girls in there with Leon, correct?"

Anthony paused before nodding confusingly, questioning what this information had to do with anything.

"One with blonde hair and a blue dress, describe the other," Elias stated.

"Bright red hair, clearly dyed, brown eyes, short stature," He shrugged. "Why?"

Elias shook his head, "Seems like his type," He finalized. "Regardless, whatever you do, make sure that Candice isn't talking to either of them, keep her talking to Angel whenever I'm not there, she seems like a nice girl." He chastised.

Anthony nodded in understanding, "If you could have it your way, I know that there wouldn't even be this get-to-together," Anthony accused with a lopsided smirk.

Elias shrugged his shoulders lightly, and afterward ran a hand through his tousled hair, "Yeah well, it was the only way to get her here without having to actually ask her on a date."

With that comment, Elias left and headed to the kitchen, where he knew Candice would be.

When he turned the corner, the first thing he saw was Leon by the archway, and the next thing he noticed was both Angel and Candice with a drink in their hand talking animatedly.

Candice was backing both of them, and it didn't take long for Elias to pick up on what Leon was doing when he heard the low murmur of, "Damn." Passing his lips.

Elias thought that his teeth would shatter in his mouth from how long and hard he was grinding them together.

In swift movements, from what felt like a rehearsed scenario, he walked forward and grabbed the back of Leon's shirt without being seen by the two girls.

Leon let out a grunt in surprise which led Candice to look back in question, just as Elias had pulled Leon away from her sight. Thinking that she was hearing things, she simply looked forward again and continued her conversation with Angel.

"Hey..." Leon chuckled nervously. Why was it that he always found himself in this position with Elias? Pinned to the wall with a tight grip on his shirt. Despite this, the look in Elias' eyes was something he never seems to get use to.

"When will it seem to register in your head to keep your eyes and hands to yourself?" Elias seethed, his fists pushing Leon further against the concrete wall.

Leon lets out another chorus of nervous chuckles, "Come on, I was just looking," He lowered his voice. "She's got some ass on her, man," Leon groaned in pain after the completion of his sentence when his body was pulled, then was thrown again with rough impact back onto the wall.

Elias felt as if Leon loved pain. Why would he continue to test Elias' limits? He was a prick, staring at Candice's ass. Not even Elias himself would ever disrespect Candice in such a way.

"Okay, okay!" Leon pleaded. "I'll go, sorry for eye-fucking your girl," He apologized as he raised his hands in surrender.

Elias glared a hole though Leon's skull. "Smart move," He whispered menacingly in Leon's face.

He pushed Leon forcefully on the wall before releasing his fists, Leon immediately pulling down his shirt from its crumpled position.

Elias sneered at Leon before leaving him up against the wall. He left without another word into the kitchen.

This time, when he entered the kitchen, Candice was alone with no Angel to be found.

He didn't mean to do it, he really didn't. He was being completely hypocritical. But how could he not look when she was bending over on her knees and cleaning water from the marbled floor?

Elias could truthfully say that he's never intentionally looked at any other girl's... assets before, especially so disrespectfully.

However, staring at Candice in this position left his mouth dry and caused him to raise two fingers to slacken his collar from around his neck which suddenly felt constricting to his airway.

Lord knows he tried to look away, and he instantly did after the situation registered to him.

He quickly wiped the sweat that formed on his forehead just a few moments ago before calling out in a hoarse voice, "Candice?"

Candice heard the husky voice coming behind her and quickly sprang off her hands, her knees still planted on the floor but her form straight regardless.

She quickly jumped to her feet and turned around, staring at Elias with his hands stuffed tightly in his pockets. She didn't notice how they were fisted tightly in the confined space, nor how flustered he was.

She looks back down to the water spilled on the floor, "I— can explain," She quickly says nervously. "I'm so sorry! I just wanted some more water and I went to get some but someone didn't screw the cover on properly!" She breathes in one breath.

It didn't take long for her to gasp at her own words as she outstretched her hands out in front of her pleadingly, "Not that this is anyone else's fault but mine, of course! It was my fault, and I was just cleaning it up, that's it, I swear."

Elias tried to contain the smile on his face. It was cute seeing her this flustered for no apparent reason. He could never be angry at her, especially for a reason as stupid as spilling water.

He walked closer to her and rested a rough palm on her arm again. He loved how goosebumps formed on her skin from his touch. He smiled crookedly, "It's okay, just leave it," He chuckled at her red face.

He slid his hand down her arm until it reaches the palm of her hand and interlaced their fingers together, "Now come on, the others are playing some game."

"Ever had your dick sucked before?" That was the first thing Canice heard as she entered the room.

Five other people were in the large room; two boys and three girls. As soon as her presence was known, all eyes were on both her and Elias, although one pair of eyes left her feeling uncomfortable and for once, it wasn't Leon.

She stared directly back at the girl in the blue dress. Candice thought that blue looked really nice on her, although she couldn't really go on much more with her compliments from how her features were twisted in distaste.

Anyone in Candice's book like that, was far from beautiful.

What had she done to this girl and why was she looking at her in such a way? Alina's eyes zoomed in on Elias' and Candice's interlaced fingers and her glared deepened.

The pair sat down and joined the circle, Elias not taking notice of Alina's look.

Leon looked back to Nicole, who had asked him the despicable question. He smirked at her as he wounded his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to him, whispering into her ear loud enough for everyone to hear, "Only once, wanna make it twice?"

Nicole chewed her chewing gum obnoxiously before swallowing it and rushing her hands through Leon's hair and soon the two began to suck each other's faces off.

Angel cleared her that uncomfortably, "Well— my turn, I guess," She looked away from Leon and Nicole. "Alina, was it?" Angel tilted her head in her direction.

Alina looked up from reapplying her lipgloss and stared at the dark-skinned girl, "Yes?"

Angel carried herself a little closer to Anthony from her spot, "So, like anyone in this room?" She questioned. In the short time that she was here, she developed a liking for Candice, and it was clear that Alina didn't feel the same way. It was clear that she was obsessed with Elias, from the little that Anthony filled her in on.

How could she like her though; Candice? This was the girl that Elias seemed to be worshipping; took Alina's man away from her. How dare she?

Alina snapped her mirror closed, "Well, in fact, yes," She smiled innocently.

Without waiting for a response, she continued, "Catherine, my question goes to you— I've been meaning to—" She knew damn well that her name was Candice, but if everyone could mispronounce her name, why not return the favor?— despite Candice never once even calling her name.

Elias glared at Alina. What happened to the sweet girl at the market? She was acting like a total bitch now. He prayed to God that for some twisted reason, the person she was talking about liking, was miraculously Leon.

He rolled his eyes as he watched the couple shove their tongue down each other's throat.

"It's Candice," Candice retorted nicely. She had a hunch mispronouncing her name wasn't a mistake.

"Yeah anyways, Callie—" Alina continued.

"Candice," Candice's tone was sharp this time around. Sharp enough to give Alina the message to stop fucking up her name.

Alina cleared her that to hide her intimidation, "Okay, Candice, as I was saying..." She started. "I've been meaning to get a few jobs done, ya see—" She continued.

Candice failed to hide her confusion, "I was wondering if I could get the doctor's number, how much did it cost?" Alina asked innocently.

Elias' nose flared. He picked up on what Alina was referring to, but yet, Candice was still left clueless.

Anthony and Angel stared at Alina in shock. What a bitch.

"My doctor? I don't get it, excuse me?" Candice was feeling left out since everyone around her seemed to get what Alina was talking about except her. That left her feeling like a fool, especially when the topic was about her.

"Oh come on! He did a good job, I must say. Almost looks real, just a bit uneven," She laughs lightly.

"That's enough, Alina," Elias bellowed.

Alina stared up at him with wide eyes as he stood up. So the only time he could remember her name was when it was pertaining to Candice? This only angered her further.

"It's easy to see, a small girl like her? It's definitely fake," Alina spat. At this statement, Candice's lips turned into a frown as she stood up and looked at her backside. She now realized what she meant.

"Alina!" Elias shouted loudly. Anthony and Angel quickly stood up with everyone else, the kissing pair not long after pulling apart to see the scene unfolding in front of them.

Alina continued to add fuel to the fire, "I'm just saying!" She threw her hands in the air. "While you were at it, why didn't you tell him to implant your chest too?" Candice gasped at this, her arms flying up to cover her small chest.

She quickly grabbed her purse from the floor. She didn't have to take this.

Nicole covered her hand over her mouth to stifle a laugh from escaping as she leaned back in to kiss Leon.

Leon moved away, glaring at her for finding the situation funny. He pushed her off his lap and stood up as well, the redhead scoffing from her place on the floor.

"You need to leave," He gestured toward Nicole and Alina. He felt like this was his fault. This thing started out as a joke and it had gone too far.

Candice shook her head and headed to the front door, her steps fast and calculated. She wasn't going to cry. For what? A stupid comment someone made about her body? Her self esteem was higher than that— but she still didn't need to hear anymore.

Anthony stood in front of Elias before he did anything stupid. He wasn't in the right frame of mind right now, "Go after her, I'll deal with this," He gestured to everyone around him.

"Anthony," Elias clenched his fists. "When I return—" He walked closer to Anthony, his voice dropping an octave lower. "And these people aren't out of this house..." Anthony didn't need to hear anymore as Elias allowed the threat to hang.

Elias didn't make empty threats. In fact, he didn't make threats at all; he made promises.

"Candice!" Candice stopped her movements on the sand beneath her feet, turning to face Elias with a small smile on her face.

"I'm sorry, Elias. Where are my manners? I left without so much of a thank you," She held her head in her hands.

The thought of blaming Elias for this didn't even cross her mind. He was not a part of it. Her hair splayed all across her face as the evening wind became more aggressive as time passed.

"No, no. Don't apologize, you did nothing wrong," He reasoned. "I'm sorry about that back there. I met Alina yesterday shortly before I met you, she seemed like a nice girl. I didn't invite her and when she showed up, I didn't expect her to be this much of a problem—" Candice shushed Elias by placing her soft finger on his lips, a melodic giggle leaving her pink lips.

It was the most she's ever heard Elias talk, and she thought it was sweet that he felt the need to justify what happened earlier.

Elias paused as he felt her finger against his lips, watching as she tilted her head to the side with a beautiful smile on her face.

He gently reached up and held onto her wrist, the smile faltering from Candice's face as Elias pulled her closer, leaving little distance between them as he kissed the palm of her hand.

Ever so gently, he whispered, "At least let me walk you back to your hotel."

Candice stared into his enchanting eyes, "I—I'm not going back there yet. I came just half an hour ago. Going home this early? My brother will know something happened," She breathed.

Elias tried to focus on the sound of her voice, rather than the movement of her lips, lips that looked incredibly delectable right now.

"Stay at mine for a while," Came Elias' quick response. "Please."

Candice looked hesitant as she looked up at Elias.

"They'll be gone, I promise." He smiled down at her reassuringly.

Candice looked at their hands connected together between their chests and smiled, "Well, I guess I accept."
