Chapter 3

The pair arrived at the poolside, the eyes of prissy little school girls watching Midas as he showed up in his swim trunks, no shirt on and a light-colored towel thrown over his shoulder.

Midas glanced at his sister, who walked uncaringly next to him with her head down into her book. She was completely unaware of her surroundings as she walked a little too close to the pool for Midas' liking.

Walking up next to her, he gently tugged her arm towards him, barely noticing as she simply complied with his actions and walked about a foot more away from the pool.

Midas wrapped his arms around his sister's shoulders as he finally took notice of how the male species were looking at her, much to her unawareness. He looked down at her and glared at the little dress she was wearing, it wasn't that short, he concluded, and it was better than the last outfit that she wore, but Midas was completely aware of how his sister was attractive to the male population.

He dropped a lot of his friends because of his sister. He could barely take the oogling he had to watch every time they came by the house, but he surely drew the line when he heard them fantasizing about fucking his sister.

Candice sighed as she read the last word of the chapter, placing the bookmark by the page she ended at. "I'll go over there and sit, okay?" She looked up at her brother as she said this. Midas looked over to where she was pointing and saw she was referring to a few lounge chairs near the pool.

He decided that he'd still be able to keep an eye on her from in the pool so it was fine.

With a sharp nod of his head, Candice was allowed to read her book in peace.

Meanwhile, Elias, Leon, and Anthony were currently making their way down to the pool an hour after Candice and her brother had already been there.

Elias was suddenly in the mood for swimming and decided that maybe it would take his mind of the blonde-haired girl that he met at the market.

"Imagine the hot chicks that'll be down here," He heard Leon snicker next to him. Anthony simply rolled his eyes as he focused his eyes back on his phone.

Elias just ignored Leon, thinking that it was better to keep his mouth shut.

They finally made it, and it wasn't a surprise to see teenagers and even middle-aged women starting at them. The clearly different skin tones between the boys were uncanny and extremely attractive.  It was almost like in slow motion as they walked in scrutiny outside into the sun, their skins glistening and hairs blowing in the wind.

Leon spots a group of three girls, his eyes zooming in on their sun-kissed skin and work out bodies. "Mm, my cup of tea." He whispers under his breath with a smirk on his lips. "I'll see you guys later," He whistles as he pats Anthony on the back, Anthony not paying any attention to him.

The pair, Anthony and Elias, stare and Leon's back as he saunters off in another direction. "Why are we friends with him again?" Anthony mumbles under his breath.

Elias shakes his head, not knowing the answer himself. "I'll be over there putting our stuff down," Elias offers as Anthony gives him his phone.

They both go in separate directions as Elias heads over the lounge chairs and Anthony makes a dive for the pool.

Elias runs his hands through his hair as he bends down and covers their phones with their towels. He moves to take a seat, his eyes cast down onto the bottle of sunscreen in his hands.

His eyes flicker up once in a while towards Leon, who was talking up a storm with the group of girls that he saw the first time he came by the pool. Elias resists the urge to roll his eyes as he looks back down at his hands, cracking his knuckles.

His eyes look up again across from him distractingly as he looks back down at his hands once again. Elias' eyes snap back up swiftly as he spots a figure sitting directly across from his with their head down in a book.

Elias' breath hitches for a second as he catches sight of the girl that he lost his first chance with at the shop. His eyes trained on her for a long moment, watching as she pushed her hair gently behind her ear as she wet her thumb with her tongue and flipped the page if her book softly.

Elias licked his bottom lip thoughtfully, trying to decide what he could do. He could go over there and try to flirt and get her number, but he's never had to flirt with any girl in order to go out with her. It all just seemed to fall right into place, he concluded.

This time, however, he couldn't help but realize that even after one encounter, Candice didn't seem like every other girl who he didn't even have to try to make a move on. He'd have to be smart with this one, and patient; two of his best qualities, he thought to himself.

Elias rose from his seat with a determined look on his face as he pushed his hand through his hair, hoping that somehow it made him look even more attractive. He didn't even realize it himself yet that he was trying to impress this girl, and if he did, he wouldn't know what to do with himself.

Elias kept his eyes trained on Candice as he made his over to her. However, his eyes widen and he quickly stops in his tracks before he could bump into the girl that suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Hey, Elias!" The voice chirped. Elias looked down at her for a quick moment before looking back at Candice who was still reading her book. The sudden mop of blonde hair that appeared in front of his sight as she tip-toed, had him stretching his body further from side to side to continue to stare at Candice.

He gave up as he slightly grows irritated at the figure in front of him. He finally looks down to see the first girl he met at the supermarket earlier today.

"Hey uh—" He paused as he scratched the back of his neck thoughtfully. What the fuck was her name again? Amanda, Allisa?

"Alina," She says quickly.

"Right," He mumbles under his breath. "How's it going?" He asks as his eyes discreetly roam over her figure swiftly.

She was wearing a two-piece in which the bikini top, spilled out the contents of her breasts. He quickly averts his eyes away from the sight. Surely she couldn't be comfortable in that thing, it was tight by all means but who was he to judge on girl's bikini?

"I'm fantastic!" She states enthusiastically. "So... I was going to ask you but you were in a rush earlier today—" He would've felt sorry that he wasn't listening to anything she was saying after that if he knew that he was basically ignoring her.

He raised his body a little to see over Alina's high, unruly bun at the top of her head just in time to see Leon walking over to Candice, a smirk plastered on his lips.

Elias grits his teeth at the sight as he watches as Candice looks up at him through her eyelashes before her entire form tenses when she sees him.

"Um, Elias?" He hears a soft voice say from below him. He looks down to see Alina.

"Huh, hm?" He blubbers. "Yeah, I'll see you later too, Alana," He gives her forearm a rub before running around her and towards Candice.

Alina frowns as she goes to call out to him but stops midway. Damn it! It happened again. Only this time, she realized that he was heading towards another girl. She was surely pretty, she admitted. However, Elias was supposed to be talking to her and pining after her, not this other girl.

And for the first time in a while, Alina's lips turned up in a scowl as she watched Elias go towards that girl.

Meanwhile, Elias took a deep breath as he stood in front of the pair; Candice and Leon.
He forced a smile on his lips and spoke, "Hey." He speaks.

Candice's eyes widen as she catches sight of Elias. She was wondering if he was anywhere close, seeing as Leon was currently flirting his ass off. She slightly wondered how women could find these advances and sayings flattering in any way.

Her eyes shifted swiftly from left to right as she gazed at the two men opposite sided of her. Quickly closing her book after ensuring that she marked the page, she stood up quickly facing Elias, rather than Leon, with a bright smile on her face that made Elias stare longingly.

Leon certainly didn't mind her turning her attention to Elias for now, since he had the best view he'd ever seen since her dress had clung to her backside from the sudden movement of her jumping her from her seat.

It was truly a delicious sight. If only could get a bite out of it. Soon enough, he thought.

"Hey," She smiled politely. "It's you again," She slightly laughed.

Elias was going to reply when his eyes caught note on how Leon was not so discreetly looking at Candice's lower half a little too long. "Candice," He spoke softly.

Her heart fluttered at him remembering her name, as well as how daringly tempting it sounded as it passed his lips.

He thought fast as he looked down at her book and picked it up, "What are you reading?" He spoke swiftly.

Candice's eyes lit up. She extremely loved whenever anyone asks her to tell them about her book. Elias was more than pleased when this caused her to come around to his side and stand next to him, her body no longer at the prodding eyes of Leon.

Elias heard when she began to speak longingly about her book, which he heard her mention about how it was genred a romantic comedy. However, his eyes were focused on Leon as he sent him a hidden message behind his stare.

'What?' Leon mouthed as he rose his hands in surrender. What did he do wrong?

"Elias?" Elias heard the soft voice calling his name. "Are you listening?" She frowned. Elias instantly thought about how he didn't like that look on her beautiful features.

It had happened too many times and she didn't like it whenever she was speaking about something that she loved and the other person didn't seem to be listening. It made her think as if her book wasn't of any importance and she was just spurting useless blubber.

"Of course, continue," He could practically feel her body heat as she stepped closer to point at a picture on the cover. Elias heard bits and pieces before, but now that she was so close, he certainly couldn't concentrate on a thing she was saying.

Her smell was absolutely enticing. He wished that he could find a fruit or food to compare it to, but it simply wasn't an artificial perfume brand that gave her her smell. It was simply just her; Candice's natural scent that only she possessed.

The sound of a voice interrupted Candice's talk about her fantastic book.

"Candice?" Elias and Leon heard a deep voice question. They looked up and saw a blonde-haired boy now stepping out of the pool, his relatively long hair causing the water to drip from the strands and to the ground with each step he took.

She turned around quickly. "Midas?" She questioned with a smile. "Are you ready to leave already?"

Midas was shorter than Leon and Elias but it still caused Elias to size him up with his eyes. Who was he? It wasn't a lie that he was attractive and surely looked to be around their age.

Midas squints his eyes at the two guys by his sister's side. "Yeah..." He walked slowly up to them and gently tugged his sister's hand to his side so that she could be next to him. Leon watched the action. So she had a boyfriend? Interesting. But did this thought stop him? No.

He had already gotten dozens of girls beneath him despite them being in a relationship. Why was Candice any different? She wasn't.

Elias tried to ignore how the muscles in his back tensed as he watched the pair.

"Let's head back," Midas states. Candice looked up to her brother and smiled. "Okay," She says obediently.

"I'll see you guys another time," She waved politely and turned around and walked off with Midas' hand on her back to lead her through the numerous who had arrived at the pool not long after they had.

Elias gritted his teeth, and for the first time, he seemed to possess a trait that he didn't even know he had; jealousy.

Leon, on the other hand, loved a challenge.
