Summertime sadness
I stayed on the roof until the sun started to set. I was up here for about 4 hours. Damn. I manage to get my head clear until I heard, "MARILYN!" I turned to see Bill looking up at me. "We thought you vanished without a trace," said Bill. "Yea, well, what do you want?" I asked. Bill decided to climb up to the roof as he climbed from the roof pipe on the side of Jack's house. He got to the roof and sat next to me on the edge, looking at the distance of Downtown L.A while the sun sets behind the buildings. "I can tell you miss L.A." He looks at me as I still looked at the buildings. "I actually do," I said, "I miss my original life in the 2000s. Those years were perfect but now? It sucks ass." "You don't like the 80s?" asked Bill. I looked at Bill and said, "oh no. I do. I really do but looking back in 2016 and now is like, a huge piece pulled out of my system." "You're homesick then," said Bill. I shrugged and said, "I guess I am." I looked down at my feet, kick front and back slowly. I thought I would be happy here in the 80s. I guess I was wrong. Bill placed his hands on my shoulder and looks at me. I lift my head and look into Bill's eyes. His eyes were a wow. Eyes that are blue and grey combined made me feel relaxed. Just looking deep into it made me distracted, forgetting the events that currently happened. I blinked for a moment and asked, "are you going to kiss me?" Bill went shock and asked, "why? You want me to kiss you?" I groaned. I want him to kiss me but I love Jack the most. Why must I be stuck in a love triangle? I love the three dudes. Damn you god for creating 3 sexy dudes. Bill chuckled, "I don't have to kiss you. You know that right?" "I know," I groaned again, "but you're hot and so is Ted and Jack and-" I covered my face with my hands and groaned again. "I hate my life!" Bill looked back at the sun behind the buildings as it disappeared. Only the light was shown as stars begin to shine the black sky with a full moon appearing next to the buildings. He looks at his watch to see it was 6:49 pm. He looked back at me as I uncovered my face. He leaned close and kissed me on the cheek, making my eyes widen and my face completely warm. I looked back at him with shock as he chuckled. "You are bodacious Marilyn and I wish you were mine but I rather prefer being friends." Well, there's the friend-zone. As Bill was about to leave I heard Jack saying, "HEY! WHAT ARE YOU TWO LOVEBIRDS DOING UP THERE?!" Wait, did he actually think me and Bill are actually together? Yikes. Bill slid down the pipe and lands on his feet. I stood up, jumped to the tree branch and climbed down through the tree and land on my feet, meeting Bill, Jack and Ted. I noticed Ted looking away from me. I walked up to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He gasped a bit and looked at me. "Sorry I punched you," I said. Ted smiled and whispers, "don't worry about it." I guess we are all even now. Bill and Ted decided to leave back to their homes to prepare for school tomorrow. I went with Jack back inside as he asked, "what were you two doing up there?" I looked at him and answered, "nothing Jack. We were just talking about ideas for Summer vacation." Jack smiled as I sat down on the couch and he sat behind the piano. As I laid on the couch, looking up at the ceiling, I heard the piano begin to play from Jack, but what surprised me was he is playing my favorite song. How does he know my song? I sat up and look at him, playing. I got out of the couch, walked up to him and sat next to him while he continued to play. I was shocked. I wanted to ask but I decided to sing instead, "Another summer day has come and gone away. In Paris and Rome, but I wanted to go Home." I can tell Jack was surprised. He looked at me while still playing as I continued to sing. We went on until he pressed the final note of the song, ending the entire thing. Just as I was about to say something, Jack pulled me into a kiss without no words at all. I held my eyes widen until he pulled away. He looked at me, noticed what he just did but he didn't care. "Look, Marilyn," he said, "you may not see it but I love you. I have a major crush on you once I first met you back in 2016. I know you have a crush on Bill and Ted but I really do love you and I'm sorry that I kissed you. I couldn't handle myself." He covered his face and whispered, "I'm an idiot. I knew I shouldn't have kissed you. I-I'm sorry." He looked back at me and I decided to kiss him back. Now he was the one in shock, but he shrugs it off as I wrapped my hands around his neck and felt his arms around my waist. Wow. I thought Bill and Ted would be great kissers but Jack's kiss took my breath away. I guess the rumors were true. Kissing under the night sky is truly romantic.
Monday morning rolled as me and Jack jumped from the sound of the alarm. We fell on top of each other while the alarm went off. We looked at each other all messy and laughed it off. I pushed him away as he tried to kiss me again. "Lets just get ready dude," I said as I stood up. "Really?" Jack asked. "No morning kiss?" I chuckled and help him up. "I'll give you a morning kiss after we get ready." Jack did his puppy face but it didn't work on me as I head to the restroom to shower. I turned on the faucets as the water begin to rush. I took off all my clothes and step into the shower. After 5 minutes in the showers, I turned off the water and grab a towel that was hanging on the side. I wrapped the towel around my nude body and head out of the restroom. Jack manage to finish changing as I saw him putting on a plain white short sleeve t-shirt and slips on a blue vest to match it. His style was more of looking like a DJ, even though he is in San Dimas High. He decided to leave the room because, well you already know why. I grab my clothes begin to change. I put on a maroon shirt with blue jeans that are torn on my knees and put on my Black Sabbath converse. I head back to the restroom and brush my hair. As my hair was brushed, I put on a Baymax beanie on my hair as my bangs covered my right eye. I looked at the reflection and smiled. I quickly rushed out and grab my white binder and my sketchbook in my hands and rushed out of the room. I grabbed my Orbit gum and hid my phone in my pocket because we are in the 80s and cell phones you see in 2016 have not been invented yet. I look at Jack to see he was waiting outside as he leaned his back on his 1969 turquoise Mustang. It was clean and all waxed. I head downstairs and out the house. I closed the door behind me and walked towards Jack. "What took you so long?" asked Jack. "Hey. At least I don't wear make-up," I said as I entered the passenger side. Jack said, "good point." He closed the door after I entered the passenger side. He jogged to the other side and opens the door as he enters the driver's side. He closed the door, put on his seatbelt, insert the keys in the ignition, turns it on and begins to drive. We rolled down the windows as the cool breeze rushed through. We were on our way to pick up Bill and Ted at Ted's place. We saw Bill and Ted standing on the sidewalk as Jack parked the car in front the duo. "Why did you bring your binder?" asked Ted. "We won't be doing anything this entire week until Wednesday." Ted enters the car first and Bill enters last as he closed the door after he enters. I answered, "Oh this is not my school binder. I held my art supplies here." Ted forgot I carry my sketchbook and my sketch binder wherever I go. I pulled out a pack of Orbit gum and offer one to Bill, Ted, and Jack as they took one. Jack continued to drive and throughout the entire drive, we listened to the radio as we all sing whatever plays on the radio. Mostly rock songs. 38 minutes later, we arrived in front of San Dimas High School. Jack parked the car on the school parking, a couple of blocks away from the High School's entrance. What's actually surprising is the students don't look happy. Everyone had their backpacks and felt like it was a normal school day. We all looked at each other once we got out of the car. "What's wrong with everyone?" asked Bill. "Did someone died?" asked Ted. Jack shook his head and answered, "I don't think so Ted." I looked at Bill, Ted and Jack and said, "it's a Monday dudes. You know how everyone is around Mondays?" "But we're 2 days from Summer break," said Jack. "He has a point Marilyn," said Bill, "when it comes to the last days of school, we're all excited and get out early." I begin to think for a second, noticing Bill is right. No one is happy around the school. The four of us start walking to the school and head our separate ways to our first and second period. Once the nutrition bell rang, I sat at a table where the window is and looked at everyone felling gloomy. What is going on? I saw Bill and Jack coming to where I'm sitting, but where's Ted? Bill and Jack haven't seen Ted since we left for first period. As we were talking about today, immediately we heard Ted's scream coming towards us. We saw him running towards us as he yelled, "WE'RE DONE! OUR LIVES AREOVER! WE'RE SCREWED! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!" "Woah woah woah woah woah," said Jack, "slow down Ted. What do you mean our lives are over?" Ted took a seat next to Bill and panicked as he said, "I was at the library right before 2nd period is over and I looked at the school's calendar to find that there was NO SUMMER VACATION!" He pulled out a page out of his vest pocket and hands it to Bill. Bill began to unfold the calendar of June and his eyes turned widen. "No...way," said Bill. Jack grabs the calendar from Bill's hand as I looked and we were in shock. Ted was immediately right. The week of June are clear. There was no black mark covering Wednesday through the first week of September. "That-that's impossible," I said as me and Jack looked at Bill and Ted. "Someone has erased summer vacation," said Ted. "Summer is now History," Bill spoke softly. The four of us looked at each other and yelled, "NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
