Sticky Notes? part 3 (Marichat/Adrienette)
"Chat, ha, as if you ever were. It is a cruel joke to say such a thing," Marinette said to herself.
"What was that princess?" A voice behind her asked.
Marinette turned around and saw Chat Noir standing there. She stood there speechless.
Chat Noir stared at her unsure how to respond to her silence at that moment. He stepped closer to her and said, "Princess, it is no joke."
"Chat Noir, why bother with a failure?" Marinette asked.
"Marinette, you are not a failure," Chat Noir responded.
"Oh, yeah, then why did my parents split up? Why did my father stay while my mother chose to move out?" Marinette blurted out as the tears formed in her eyes.
Chat Noir had no answers for her. He felt bad that he could not fix a thing that troubled her. It was worse than he thought.
"Princess, there is are some things answers can not be discovered for such as why is this poor cat's father never around? Why did my mother die when I needed her the most?" Chat Noir answered.
Chat Noir felt something or rather someone as they pulled him tight in a hug. He looked up in surprise as it dawned on him his princess hugged him. He hugged her in return.
Neither of them said a thing about the hug, somehow they knew it was meant for anyone else to find about, but it was also something special they had shared.
Chat Noir waited until she fell asleep with her head on his shoulder. He kissed her cheek, then gently touched her face with his gloved hands, sighed, and said, "Mari, do not give up on yourself, because this kitty needs you."
He picked her up, tucked her into her bed, turned off the light, and left. He made sure to leave something special behind though.
As Chat headed home, he thought to himself, perhaps tomorrow she will open up to Adrien. He could only hope so as he wanted to be there for her no matter what form he was in at the time.
The next day, Marinette awakened at six o'clock. It seemed she always was up early now that she was in a broken home with its mark everywhere she went. She headed out the door, but almost tripped over it. Sure enough, there was yet again a sticky note.
Dear Marinette,
Wishes for you to have a feline well day, today. Sorry, if this sounds like a lousy pun.
It is harder than it sounds to say things that help others.
The cat's mother died when he was a little kitten and his father chose to ignore him by being busy with work.
Now, every day, it is a struggle not to frown, yell, or pound something. Also, it is hard not to pull you close and tell you how much you mean to this cat.
Adrien wishes to speak to you. He sits alone because he thinks you want nothing to do with him. He does not want to pressure you to speak to him.
Sorry, about your parents, Marinette. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, someone to listen, or hug believe this cat when he says he will be there.
Sincerely,
Chat Noir
Marinette arrived at school on time, gathered her things for class, and turned around when she heard someone else as they sighed. She looked to see who made the sound. Imagine her surprise when she discovered it was Adrien Agreste.
"Here, Marinette, it does not make up for anything, but it says more than anything. Sorry, if your space was intruded," Adrien says sadly.
Adrien walks away before Marinette can say a word to him.
Marinette thinks great how could you just stand there and let your crush walk away like this? How could you let him think he did something wrong?
