Sticky Notes Marichat/Adrienette part 6
Adrien's POV:
Adrien sighs as he hates the fact he had to cute his date short with Marinette. He wishes he could have stayed longer. Now, he is home and awaits his father's reaction to the missed photoshoot.
Nothing could prepare him for the lecture he is about to get. He looks up as his father enters his room. He can see the look of dismay in his eyes.
"Adrien," his father says in a stern voice.
"Yes, father?" Adrien asks.
Adrien insistently regrets his decision to speak as it is met with an immediate slap across his face. He does not yell though instead he takes the sting because he knows he has no intentions to ever dump the girl he loves. Not now not ever.
Gabriel's POV:
Gabriel is so angry he slaps Adrien hard across the cheek. He can not believe his son could be so irresponsible to miss an important photoshoot. Least of all this one since it was something planned for months.
"How dare you miss the photoshoot today, and for what to goof off after school perhaps?" Gabriel asks with an angry scowl. He never once takes into consideration that his son has a love interest.
He does not wait for an answer. "From here on out you must come home directly after school, and have no more extra activities," Gabriel scoffs.
"Is that clear, son?" He asks.
Adrien's POV:
"Yes, it is perfectly, clear father," Adrien answers.
"It is not what I want though. A model life is something you might wish for me, but I have no interest in it," Adrien tries to explain.
"You see there is the girl and I love her," Adrien blurts out.
Gabriel reacts by slapping him harder than before so that Adrien will need twice as much makeup to cover the bruise than the previous one. He shakes his head in disapproval as he says, "No girls are to come between you and the Agreste business contract," He spits out. He walks off before Adrien can say another word.
As soon as his father is out of earshot, he puts makeup over the bruises to cover them as always. He shudders to think about how Marinette would react if she knew the truth about his home life. He is not sure if he should tell her or not.
Adrien finishes then work on his homework.
Plagg's POV:
"Adrien that was out of line even for him. He should treat you with more respect," Plagg says.
Plagg notices Adrien does not say anything to defend himself at the moment. He decides to continue, "Marinette would be hurt if she knew that your father did this to you."
"I know Plagg which is why I am not sure I can tell her," Adrien says.
"Adrien, you have too. You know how much she loves you," Plagg argues.
"Besides, she is your girlfriend, and she is bound to discover the scars soon," Plagg tries to tell him.
Adrien's text to Marinette
Thanks for the note, and I will see you soon.:)
Adrien's POV:
Adrien finishes his homework, then sneaks out of the house. He knows it is risky, but he does not care. He has to see her because somehow he is not sure how long it will be before his father ruins this relationship for him too.
He sighs as he runs to her place with Plagg hidden inside his pocket. He arrives a few minutes later. He hands her a small note but feels silly about now that they are together.
"Adrien, do come inside," Marinette says.
Adrien enters the place not sure what to expect at the moment. He is glad to see that Marinette is happy to see him. He can tell her father glares at him with annoyance. He begins to wonder if this was a good idea or a bad one.
"Mari, can we talk in private?" Adrien asks.
Tom's POV:
"Young man you may speak to her in private, but do not hurt her," Tom says.
"If you ever make my daughter cry, you will be in trouble," Tom blurts out.
Tom watches Adrien take Marinette's hand as he walks upstairs with her. He smiles to himself glad that Marinette has a boyfriend. Maybe then she will be more like her old self soon.
"The guy who makes a child smile like this must be the one for her," Tom says to himself.
Marinette's POV:
Marinette looks at Adrien now that they are alone. She can tell something seems off, but can not quite put her foot on it.
"Adrien, are you okay?" Marinette asks.
She shows concern for him when he does not answer right away. She steps closer and places a hand gently on his cheek. She gasps when some makeup smears off to reveal a hideous scar on it.
"Oh, no! Adrien, what happened?" Marinette asks. She feels him tremble as she kisses his cheek gently with her lips. She goes over the wound slowly so as not to cause him any more pain.
Marinette hugs him and says, "Please, do not be afraid to tell me, I love you."
Adrien's POV:
"My father was not happy about one missed photoshoot. I tried to explain how I felt about those and he slaps me hard twice. I was ashamed so I covered it with some makeup," Adrien says.
Adrien sees the tears in his girlfriend's eyes. He kisses her gently then pulls away.
"Mari, I will be ok," He says.
"My father does not know I am gone. I sneaked out to see you," He explains.
" The truth is he wants me to go home after school from here on out. He expects me to do the photoshoots, and he refuses to listen when I tell him I am in love," Adrien remarks sadly.
He hears her sobs as if she thinks all this is her fault. He tries his best to calm her down.
"Mari, it is alright, none of this is your fault, sweetheart," Adrien says.
Adrien lifts her chin gently and kisses her. He wishes to see her happy no matter what it takes.
