Ladybug's  POV:

      "A-Adrien is he dead?" Ladybug asks.

        Ladybug hears Adrien sigh. She feels him pull away from her.

        "Well, is he?" Ladybug demands to know.

    Adrien's POV:

      "He went into early retirement," Adrien answers.

        He sees her sob again and  knows she must have misunderstood him.

       "He is alive, but he gave the ring back to Master Fu,"  Adrien explains.

      Ladybug's  POV:

     "Chat returned his miraculous, but why?  He was supposed to be my partner, and he just left with no explanation.  Now, you tell me he quit," Ladybug blurts out.

        Ladybug looks ticked off now. She can not believe it. She thinks Chat is not dead but he is not returning cause he quit being a hero. She does not understand.  How could this happen?

         "Did he tell you why?"  Ladybug inquiries.

       Adrien's  POV: 

         Adrien scratches  the back of his head. This is something he does when he gets nervous like he is right now. He thinks should I tell her?

         "He told me he quit to protect Marinette.  He wishes he would have told you, but he thought you would not understand," Adrien tells her.

       He thought too bad that is only partially true. To bad he can not tell her that Hawkmoth started to suspect who Chat was behind the mask. He  recalls how he was so close to finding answers yet he could not do a thing about it since his father had him leave town for so long.

      Ladybug's  POV:

     Ladybug thought did he just say what he did. Then, she smiles as it dawns on her Chat did what he could to make sure she was safe as a civilian which ironically enough made her safer as Ladybug. She is so happy. She can not contain her excitement.

     "Chat did all this for Marinette?" Ladybug responds.

       Adrien's  POV:

       Adrien nods his head. He sees her smile.

      He thinks man how I missed it.  

        He hands her a small necklace that he found at a store while he was away.  

          "I bought t-this for you, M-Marinette," Adrien mutters.

         He hears her gasp. He just realizes he messed up by giving away the secret that he found out her identity. He overheard Tikki talking to her one day in the past and knew ever since then.

        Personally, he was relieved since he knew this meant the Ladybug he loves is not a stranger.

         Ladybug's  POV:

          "You know my identity, but how?" Ladybug questions him.

         She thought she was always careful. She did not think anyone knew it was her.

         She hopes this does not mean Hawkmoth knows. She stares into his eyes and sees the love he has for her in them. She gulps. She knows now that he was in love with her all this time.

         Now, the question on her mind is why did not he tell her.  Why did not he say something.

      Adrien's  POV:

       "I found out by accident.  I overheard your conversation with your kwami once and I..." Adrien trails off.

       "A-Adrien, you know about k-kwami's, b-but that is i-impossible. Only miraculous h-holders know about kwami's," Ladybug replies.

       "Ladybug, I know more than you think," Adrien states.

      Adrien places a thumb close to her nose and hears her slow soft tears fall from her bluebell eyes once more.

       " Marinette, M'lady do not cry for me," He mumbles. He does not seem to notice the slip up.

      He is just glad to have this moment with her.

    Adrien's POV:

       Adrien leaves his thumb on her cheek, grins, leans in, and kisses her lips. He thinks this is even better than I imagined it to be. He sees her eyes close as if she is afraid it is not real. He deepens the kiss. 

       He pulls away, helps her fasten the necklace around her neck, and mutters, "M-Marinette, I love you, both as Marinette Dupain-Cheng and as Ladybug."

       Adrien kisses her again.  

   Ladybug's POV:

    Ladybug's eyes open and she thinks, Adrien Agreste is kissing me. He loves me.

       She  returns the kiss, then pulls away.

        "Adrien, I love you too, but I have something I have to do before we can be together," She explains.

         Adrien looks disappointed. He sighs and nods his head. 

     "I understand, go getem' Bugaboo," He  retorts.

          Ladybug hands Adrien the cat miraculous and the snake one.  "Here take them, cause I am going to need all the help I can get, Adrien, or should I say Chat, aka Snakenoir," She teases him.

         Adrien's POV:

      Adrien smiles, slips on the ring then the bracelet.  He calls out, "Plagg, Sazz unify!"

          Now as Snakenoir, he assists Ladybug for the first time in years. He thinks it is just like old times only better cause now she finds me irrestible.  He smiles at the thought.

          Snakenoir sees Hawkmoth behind Ladybug, but before he can warn her the creep puts her in a choke hold.

         Hawkmoth's POV:       

         "Hand me both miraculous, or the bug gets it," Hawkmoth snarls.

          He tightens his hold on her neck as he speaks.

          Ladybug's POV:

          Ladybug feels tears stain her cheeks.

          "No, it is a trap," Ladybug screams.

         "Snakenoir d-do not listen to him," She protests.

             Ladybug watches as Chat charges as Hawkmoth hears him call out Catcyslm and sees his fist hit the cane Hawkmoth holds. She sees him snatch the brooch off the unconscious Hawkmoth and gasps.

           "I am sorry," Ladybug mumbles.

         Snakenoir's POV:

           "Do not be sorry, m' lady and my princess," He tells her.

          He hands her the brooch, then runs outside. Once there he waits for her.

            As she approaches him after she fixes a few small damages with her lucky charm she holds her hands out.

          He says, "Plagg, Sazz divide."
   

   Now, he hands the snake miraculous and cat ones back to her.

         Ladybug's  POV:

          Ladybug  announces to the public the good news. Then, she runs off and Adrien chases her.  She lets him catch up to her. She removes the earrings. Now all the miraculous are in the box for safe keeping.

        All expect for the peacock one.

          She watches as Adrien reaches into his pocket and hands her box.

         "Is that what I think it is she asks?"  
 
           Adrien nods his head.  

            She smiles and places it inside the miraculous box for safe keeping as well.

             Narrator's POV:

           Years later, Ladybug,  and Chat Noir have gone out of the public's view. They are retired as neither are needed anymore. Yet, neither Adrien or Marinette forgets the day, Marinette got her smile back.

        "You could say it was a spotted smile," Adrien remarks.

         "Haha, nice pun, hun," Marinette rhymes.

          Adrien and Marinette have made an official announcement yet, but Adrien has bought her a ring.  He is proposed and she has accepted.

           The end...
