Miraculous Mother's Day Thrills (Reno/ Rena Rogue and Nino Lahiffe)part 2
Nino Lahiffe knew he had done well. He was sure of it with how pleased Rena Rogue was at that moment. He wished he were a hero too. He was at one point, but now he was not anymore. Someone had stolen the turtle's bracelet that gave him the ability to transform into Carapace.
He was too ashamed to tell anyone this. He had not even told Chat Noir or Ladybug. Here he stood uncertain as to what all his future held. He knew whatever it was that he wanted Rena Rogue by his side.
It was Mother's Day, and his mom tried to get him to break it off. He could not do that to Rena. He had not spoken to his mother all day. It was the fact that troubled him more than he would ever admit. He could not very well tell his fiance. It was not something he wanted her to know.
Rena Rogue sensed there was something Nino was not telling her. Her mom had celebrated with the family the day before. It looked like most of her friends were busy in celebration of their moms on this special day. She knew it was hard on Adrien, but that is what he had Marinette for. She grinned at the thought.
"Nino, did you, and your mother, have another spat?"
"Yes, but it is different this time."
"Oh, how so?"
"I am sorry, but I can not tell you. Sweetheart, it is something I rather not talk about ever."
"Why not? It could not be that bad."
Nino sighed. He felt pressured to just come out with it. He was not sure how to tell her without causing her pain. It was bad enough he made the mistake of dumping her years ago, then gotten back together with her, and after much work, he eventually popped the question. He never regretted being with her. He only regretted the fact it took him, so long to realize how much she meant to him.
"Well, dear?"
Rena Rogue saw it in his eyes. The pain that had been put there, and she felt sad to see it. She loved him and longed for him to be truly happy. She knew it was not her fault so why did she feel so bad?
"I uh, it is just that my mother does not exactly approve of us."
Nino did not mean for it to come out quite like that, but he had said it and now there was nothing he could do to fix it.
"I see. "
Rena did not say another word about it. She just smiled a weak smile but kissed him anyways. She did not want to let him go, not again.
"I love you, and I want what is best for you. You know that right?"
"Yes, and I believe you are what is best for me," Nino said with a huge grin.
Rena smiled.
