Marinette's Fourth of July in America part 5

Marinette wakes up with the knowledge that it three days before the trip. She thinks great now should I pack a swimsuit or what?  It dawns on her that she forgot to ask her folks if she would need one or not.

"Mom, Dad, do I need my swimsuit?" Marinette asks.

"Yes, do plan on bringing along one or two of them if you want," Sabine says.

"Your twin sister, Bridgette has a swimming pool outside her place and there should be a beach too," Tom remarks.

"Okay, sounds nice, thanks," Marinette replies as she pulls out three swimsuits. She tries the first one on only to decide it is not that great of color on her. She adds it to the donation pile.

The second one fits in all the right places and she loves the color. She packs it, then tries on the last suit. It fits as well, so she packs it too. Now, she has both a two-piece tanki and a two-piece, bikini packed as well.  The tanki is a pink color with a few red stripes down the sides to it while the bikini is a solid blue color that matches her eyes.

Marinette finds her three coverup tops, the first two she packs, the third she adds to the donation stack.  She is glad she was able to shop for a few new things earlier this year. This way she has a few cute dresses, along with two skirts and nice shirts to match, some shorts, tank tops, and sandals amongst the items to take on the vacation.

"I packed the beach ball and pump in my luggage," Sabine states.

"Oh, thank goodness because I wondered where that was mom," Marinette responds.

"Well, now you know," Tom says.

Tom and Sabine are glad to see Marinette's tune has changed since yesterday. Perhaps, this means the journey to see her sister will be good for her after all. They can only hope so anyway.

Marinette has a sudden flashback again...

Marinette is five years old and is playing truth or dare with the other kindergartens.  Okay, so it is kindergartens and a few first, and second graders.  She does not mind as long as she has some fun.  Well, at some point it is her turn so she says, "Dare."

Marinette did not know she would regret this decision for the rest of her life.  "Okay, I dare you to go over there to that boy and kiss him," A  little girl says.

Marinette approaches the boy, and says, "Hi, there, I am Marinette!"

            "Oh, hi," The boy says.

Marinette leans over and gives the boy with the jet black hair, and brown eyes a quick kiss on the cheek. She blushes, but before she can explain anything to him the boy runs off. She runs back to her friends. She feels so awkward about it from that moment on she does not know what to do.

"Haha, did you see that girls?  Marinette Dupain-Cheng kissed  that boy!" Chole Bougerious the mayor's daughter brags.

"Yes, so what?" The other girl's remark.

"So what, she kissed a boy.  It was so funny, am I right?" Chole asks with a chuckle.

Alix rolls her eyes but then sees Marinette come back and sit back down. "Ew, I can not believe you just did that Marinette.  I mean that is so gross," Alix says.

"Whatever, it was just a dare," Marinette says as if it is no big deal.

"Oh, but it was I mean the boy was so disgusted he ran from you, Marinette Dupain-Cheng," Chole teases her.

           End of Flashback...

Marinette thinks why did I have to go and remember some stupid kiss I gave to some boy I never even met. She believes her kindergarten year was one crazy one.  Good thing, she never told her parents since they always told her not to kiss a boy unless she was serious about him.  As if that will ever happen, she thought, since there was a boy once she wanted to kiss, but he turned about to be a jerk and she never got a chance too. She never did want to kiss another boy ever since then.

Meanwhile, Adrien remembers he forgot to pack his swimsuit. For some reason, he thinks he recalls Luka saying he might need it.  He adds his two need ones to the suitcase, along with a beach towel, and his beach pail and shovel.  He has no idea how much these might come in handy later.

Plagg smiles in approval as he and Tikki just got back together today. It was all because he quit sulking and checked his friend's request on Instagram. It was then he saw a friend request from Tikki.   He accepted and requested to follow her.  To his relief, she responded with an acceptance to his request too.  He had gotten a few texts from her since then.

"Plagg, what has you in such a good mood?" Adrien asks.

"Well, it is a nice sunny day, and my ex-girlfriend still likes me, and I am so glad," Plagg says.

"What does this mean for you exactly?" Adrien asks.

"It means she said yes when I asked her out!" Plagg squeals.

"Awe, I am so happy for you brother," Adrien says.

Adrien sighs since he can not help, but feel jealous that his brother has a girlfriend. He wishes he could get Marinette to see he has not a bad guy.  How?  It is not like he can expect her to just trust him out of the blew.

"I hope if you see Marinette while you out of town that she accepts you this time," Plagg says.

"Plagg, I did not know you cared," Adrien says.

"Bro, I have always cared about you," Plagg says.

        Now, with Luka...

Luka thinks wow the girl who my cousin says works at a frozen yogurt shop in the area we are visiting is cute.  He wonders does she have a sister?  He hopes so that way he can ask this girl out and set Adrien up with the other one.

Maybe this way, Adrien can see he is not such a horrible guy.  He grins and thinks, I can only hope, right?
