Marinette's Fourth of July in America part 4

Marinette thinks her time in America will be dull as ever. She begins to wish she did not have to go. Then, again if she stays how is she to know if it is great or not.  She begins to pack for the upcoming trip.

Sabine and Tom have no idea how to get their daughter to calm down. They feel bad they brought up Luka since they are sure he broke her heart at one point.  However, they are not sure about his friend.  Whoever he or she is they hope will be great friends with Marinette.

Nino and Alya can not wait to go on their adventure with Alya's parents, along with her sisters.  The two believe it will be a good time for both of them.

Adrien finishes getting his things ready for the fourth of July.  Plagg shakes his head the entire time.

Luka smiles glad Adrien agrees to go along with him. It will make things less boring.  He hopes that they might run into some cute girl.  Maybe, then Adrien will not be so sore at him when it comes to the past.  Then perhaps, it would be better if there were two girls so Adrien could have one and he could go out with the other girl.  It might do them both some good to have a girlfriend.

Adrien sighs as he places his camera inside the case and the case inside his suitcase. He closes it back glad to be ready at last.  He knows the vacation is still in around five days including day, but four if you do not include today.  He hopes he did not make a mistake to agree to go on it.

Plagg smiles as he finishes some cheese crackers.

"Brother, I see you are all set for the trip," Plagg says.

"Yes, indeed I am at that Plagg," Adrien remarks.

Plagg frowns since he is still sad due to the fact he has not heard from Tikki in years. He knows they broke up, but that was only because she said they had to once she moved away. He wishes they could have stayed together.  He loves her and not being with her makes him miserable.

        Back to Marinette...

          Marinette's flashback...

Marinette was so happy she could not wait to tell her parents all about it.  She was his girlfriend for two months.  It was about time they knew she was in love. She ran to the place for the date in a hurry. She was a bit early but hoped he would not mind.

"Hi, I am here, darling," Marinette says.

"Hi, Marinette, what brings you here?" He asks as if he does not know.

"Ha, silly, I came here for our date," Marinette tells him.

"Oh, was that today?"  Luka asks.

"Yes, we have only planned this forever," Marinette states.

Another girl comes over to Luka and wraps her arms around him, Marinette watches in surprise when her man does not shove this other person away. She thinks it looks like they know each other.

"Luka who is this?" The young girl asks.

"I could ask the same question," Marinette remarks.

                 "Chole, not now," Luka retorts.

"Chole, is it, well why did you bring her along for anyway?" Marinette asks.

"Marinette, you see the thing is," Luka starts to say.

"Do not be so ridiculous, Marinette, it just that Luka thinks I am better cause you are such a bore,"  Chole says with a gleam in her eyes. She laughs.

Marinette looks to Luka for answers. She thinks he will support her after all he is her boyfriend.  She can not believe it when instead of reassuring her everything is fine between them, he places a hand around Chole's waist, the other on the blonde's cheek, then to top it off he leans in and kisses her.

"What?  It is our anniversary of the day we got together, and you do this?" Marinette blurts out angrily.

Marinette pulls out two items from her pockets and throws them on the ground. She walks off heartbroken but does not look back. She does not want him to see her tears, nor does she wish to seem him in the embrace of someone else.

Two days later, Marinette gets a phone call from Luka. She goes out to meet him hoping it was just a misunderstanding a few days ago. Only, he tells her, "Sorry, Marinetteboo but, we are over.  It is not your fault,  it just I find Chole to be so exciting, she is new, adorable, and I see myself smitten with her.  So, anyway, I hope you take care of yourself."

"What? You came here to dump me?" Marinette asks with her eyes full of furry.

"Yes," Luka spit out as if it is no big deal.

Marinette grabs up a dagger and throws it across the room. It misses him and hits the blank dartboard on the wall.  She sees him run out of the room but calls out after him,  "I hate you,  you hear me, I hate you Luka Cuffaine.  I hate boys, I hate men, I am finished with them all, you here!"

After Luka left, Marinette prints out an old photo of them together. She taps it on the dartboard, then throws the dagger towards it. She hits the photo over and over again until soon it is full of holes just like her relationship is right now.  Just like her tattered heart feels over the boy who cheats on her and leaves her for the mayor's daughter of all people.

              End of Flashback...

Marinette wonders what brought on her sudden flashback to the day that Luka hurt her or days later when he made the breakup official.  It is not as if she had done anything to deserve it.  She had always been the best girlfriend to him, right?  Sure she never kissed him but that was because she thought he was not ready for that sort of thing yet.  She even remembers the first time she kissed a boy long before she met Luka.

She rather not think about it now.  No, she rather forgets all about the entire thing, just as she wishes to forget about Luka.  She also rather forget about that pest Adrien.  The dull blonde-haired boy who seems to obese over her.  She honestly can not see what he sees in her. She is a man-hater and always will be one.
