The next day, Marinette wakes up a smile on her face. She can not wait to see Adrien. She also looks forward to sharing some good news with Emma for a change.

           Adrien wakes up with a grin across his face. He thinks about how he and Marinette are together now. He is so glad. It seems like it took forever for them to get this way. He can not wait to see her.  He gets up, gets dressed, eats breakfast, puts on deodorant, brushes his hair, and shaves off his mustache.

        He wonders what Marinette will think when she sees the facial hair is gone. He sighs as he thinks that she will be ready soon.

        Adrien's text to Marinette

         Good morning, you all set?

        Marinette's text to Adrien

         Almost, I just need to grab my keys, purse, and some books.  I know how much Emma likes to read.   I thought I might bring her a few to keep her occupied.

      Adrien's text to Marinette

        Sounds good and do not look now, but there is a guy on your porch.

     Marinette grabs up her things and heads out the door. She locks it and almost bumps into her boyfriend.  "Hi, Adrien, wait, you are here!"  Marinette squeals.

      "Yes, glad you are still happy to see me," Adrien says with a grin.

       "Oh, and you shaved off your mustache, I see," Marinette remarks.

        "So, you noticed?" Adrien asks.

      "Sure I did, and it looks nice by the way," Marinette states with a smirk.

            Adrien helps Marinette in her car.  He will not let her say no once she has everything in there.  "I will drive today, and you just relax, sweetheart."

             "Okay, dear," Marinette says.  She blushes.  She can not believe she gets to ride with her man to the local cafe then to the hospital to check up on Emma.

         A  few minutes later, Adrien pulls into the cafe's parking lot, and after he finds a nice spot parks the car.  He gets out and opens the door for her.        

          Marinette shuts it behind her and locks it.  She and Adrien go inside to enjoy a nice breakfast.

        "Wow, this all looks so good," Marinette says.

        "Yes, it sure does," Adrien says. He does not tell her it is her, he thinks about and not the food.

        Marinette orders the pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a small orange juice.  Adrien orders the waffles, scrambled eggs, and a small apple juice.  As they wait for the food, Adrien holds her hand and kisses her.

         "Awe, so sweet," The waitress remarks as she goes to give their orders to the chef.  

           The waitress comes back fifteen minutes later,  "Now let me see, ah, yes, you have the pancakes, eggs and orange juice, Miss and the rest of this order goes to the polite gentlemen with you.  I say you both look great together."

         "Thanks, we think so too," Adrien says.

         "Yes, we ought to since he is my boyfriend," Marinette says happily.

          "I thought so and a very good day to you both," The waitress says as she hands them some napkins, utensils, and an envelope to Adrien.

       Adrien places the envelope in his pocket which makes Marinette wonder what that was all about anyway. He thinks I will tell her later.

       The two enjoy their food, but all too soon the date is over.  Adrien pays for the meal and leaves the tip.  Marinette does not protest, she just lets Adrien take her hand and lead her back to her car.  She smiles when he drives them to their next stop.

     The enter the hospital holding hands and the nurses, and doctors all smile. They secretly think it is good to see the young man and lady getting along so well.  Surely, it is a pleasant change from the day before, but that is all in the past.

     Adrienette enter the elevator together, Marinette pushes in the button and Adrien kisses her as the door closes.  Later, the door opens so they get off and head straight to Emma's room.

     "Hi, Emma how are you today?" Adrien asks.

     "Yes, how are you?" Marinette asks.

       "Mommy and Mr. Adrien are holding hands!"  Emma squeals. She is so happy.

         "Yes, well we have something to tell you," Marinette starts to say.

       "What is it?" Emma asks.

     "I asked your mother to be my girlfriend and she said yes," Adrien replies.

        "Yes, I am so very happy," Emma says weakly.  She even coughs just a little bit.

               The nurse enters the room.  "She has caught a cold, and we are trying to get it on the mend so we can get back to the treatments.  She seems to be in a good mood," The nurse says.

             "Nurse Jenny, is she going to be okay?" Adrien asks.

             "I am not sure," Nurse Jenny whispers so as not to scare the patient in the bed.

               Marinette nods her head but does not pull away when Adrien squeezes her hand. She thinks somehow we will get through this together.  

              Nurse Jenny hands Emma some iced water. The small child takes a few small sips.  "Thanks, I was thirsty," Emma remarks.

         The nurse exits the room and sighs. She wishes she had better news to give the girls mother and boyfriend by the looks of it.  She is glad that Miss Marinette is happy though maybe this will somehow help.

       Emma beams at the sight of her mother and Mr. Adrien. 

    "Mommy, did you ever date him?" She asks.   

     "Yes, sweetie, we ate breakfast together, before we came here to speak with you," Marinette says. 

      Adrien can sense the sadness in Marinette's voice and see the tears in her eyes. He knows it is due to her sick daughter. He too feels tears in his eyes as well. He thinks do not worry, Mari, I will be here no matter what happens.

   He frowns when his phone goes off.  "Sorry, to rush off when I have my two favorite girls here with me, but I have to go into work," Adrien says. He does not look too thrilled about it.

   Adrien kisses Emma on the cheek, then gives Marinette a kiss on the lips.  He laughs when he hears Emma giggle.  He leaves the room with the thought that he can not wait to see them both again.
