"Marinette, I am here," Adrien says. 

           Marinette does not need to look up to know who spoke. She knows who it is already. It is Adrien she knows because he is always been there for her.

            Marinette feels bad that she cries so much around him. She hopes one day she can speak to him without the tears.  She feels strong arms wrap around her without another word.

           Adrien hugs Marinette as he feels tears fall from his eyes. He wishes they could be here together under better circumstances. It seems everything is always sad when he sees her.  

          "Has the doctor said anything about what is wrong with Emma?" Adrien asks.

          "I have not heard anything," Marinette tells him.

           "Oh, well I am here for you," Adrien sadly remarks.

        The doctor comes out to speak to Marinette. 

    "Marinette Dupain-Cheng Cuffaine, I have something important to discuss with you," The doctor says.

      "Yes, what is it?" Marinette asks as she tries to wipe away the tears from her eyes.

       "Is it a matter of Emma's father," The doctor states.

        "What about her biological father?" Marinette asks with her hands trembling.

        "Are you aware of his whereabouts?"  The doctor asks her next.

        "No, why?  He has not spoken to me since he left me other than to agree to sign the divorce papers, " Marinette replies.

        "Doctor, can not you see this bothers her to speak of that jerk?" Adrien asks furiously.

         "Look, I rather not discuss Mr. Cuffaine, but under the circumstances, it is necessary," Doctor Brown replies.

           Marinette frowns in confusion as to what Luka has anything to do with Emma's condition.

            "We need to know if he approves of the treatments which may include a possible blood transfusion or two,"  Doctor Brown explains.

          "Treatments for what?" Marinette asks afraid to hear the answer.

          "Are you any relation to Mrs. Cuffaine or her daughter?" Doctor Brown asks Adrien.

          "No, I am her best friend though," Adrien responds.  He thinks I wish to be more when the time comes.

             Doctor Brown paces back and forth with one hand on his forehead.  He appears to have bad news to give them.  Whatever it is must be disturbing him they can tell with how nervous he is right now.  He frowns and shakes his head in pity.

             Marinette hears a ding on her cell phone and gasps when she sees the text.

          *Author's note: What news could be so important Doctor Brown needs Luka's approval?  Who could have sent Marinette the text?
