Adrien runs outside, he sees the Dupain-Cheng building collapse, and almost faints. He runs over to the rumble, moves some of it out of the way, finds the bodies of Marinette's parents, but Marinette is nowhere to be found.

"No, " he screams, "Marinette please be okay!"

Four months later, Ladybug and Marinette are not seen. It seems they both vanished into thin air.   Adrien promises himself he will find Marinette if it is the last thing he does.                 

  "Plagg, this is all my fault, if I had not taken Aurore to the mall, Marinette would still be here," Adrien says.

     "Adrien, do not blame yourself.   I know you love her, but her disappearance is not your fault." Plagg says.

    "Plagg, I  know she has to be alive,"  Adrien says.

      "What makes you think so when everyone else thinks she is dead?"  Plagg asks.

     "Look the police never found her body or any sighs of her since the explosion and the collapse of the bakery.  She is alive,"  Adrien remarks.

     Plagg's  POV:

     Adrien's insistence that Marinette is alive makes no sense.  He thinks the poor guy must be grief-stricken.

     Adrien's  POV:
   Marinette is alive I know she is, but I need to find her to prove it.

 Meanwhile, with Marinette, she awakens in some strange place. She looks around her in the cold air and sees the snow as it falls around her.

   "What? Snow, where am I?"  Marinette says. She does not recognize anything around her.  She does not recall having been here wherever it is ever before in her life.

   "Who are you?  How did you get here?"  A voice behind her asks.

   "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and you are?" She asks.

   "Master Fu, so what brings you to China?"  He asks.

"China, how can I be in China? The last thing I remember is leaving the mall in Paris, and..." Marinette begins.

"Mall, there is no such thing at least not in this period, it seems you have traveled back in time, Marinette." Master Fu tells her.

   "I time traveled, but how?" Marinette remarks.

   "I am not sure, I was hoping you could tell me how you got here,"  Marinette says.

   "How about I get you something to eat?"  Master Fu asks.

   "Ok, is there any rice or soup, brr...it is rather cold here," Marinette remarks.

"Sure, I think I can manage both, come with me." He says as he starts to walk toward his home.

  Marinette's  POV:
  She thinks she time-traveled to the past in China. Now, how crazy is that anyway?

    "What am I to do?  How will I get back home and to my time?" Marinette asks.

"Come on Miss, Marinette!  We are almost there," He says. His jaw drops when he sees the place is on fire.

  "No, no, no this is bad,  I have failed in my mission,"  He remarks. He enters the building and manages to rescue a few people. He also rescues and old, funny-looking box.

"Miss, I am sorry it seems I have no idea how to get you back home," Master Fu tells her.

     Marinette laughs, and says, " I will my way back home."  

       She whispers, "Tikki spots on!"   Nothing happens.

   "Oh, no!  Great, I am stuck here. Stuck in the past," Marinette says and frowns.

      The snow stops falling, and a voice says,  "Master Fu, perhaps I can help."

"You know I believe you are right," He says as he hands a small box similar to the larger one he still holds to the person who spoke up.

    "Now, let me get this straight, Tikki spots on!" She says and transforms.

       Marinette looks at her in surprise. "Wow, you are Ladybug, this is cool!" She says. She thinks, I can not tell anyone, but still, this is cool.

   *Author's  Note:  The past Ladybug attempts to open a time portal to send Marinette back home, will she succeed or fail?

   Back in Paris, France Hawkmoth has not made any new villains in a while, for that matter, it is almost like Hawkmoth ceases to exist.

"Nino, you know something, Adrien behaves so odd.  He never goes anywhere since Marinette's death four months ago," Alya says.

"You are so right, Alya. I wish I could something to cheer him up.  His father says she refuses to speak to anyone,"  Nino remarks.

   At the Agreste mansion,  Adrien thinks there must be a clue somewhere about what happened to Marinette, but where?  What could it be?

"Adrien, I am sorry about your friend.  Your obsession to find her has got to stop, she is dead and there is nothing you can do,"  Gabriel remarks. He walks off and thinks, I can never tell him the truth about what happened to her since  I am partially to blame.
