A Miraculous Easter Lukanette/Adrienette part 5
In the previous part, Marinette helps him back to the cot. She sees him try to get up again but shoves him back down and he grabs her arm. She looks at him unsure what does this mean?
In the current part, "A-Adrien, what is it?" Marinette asks.
Adrien smiles at her and says, "I want you to know that no matter what happens between us you can keep the jacket."
"Oh, is that all?" Marinette asks sadly. She looks a bit disappointed.
Adrien thinks how can I confess now? He fears she will regret ever having met him if she ever finds out the truth. He feels so bad that he can not tell her. He wonders if things will ever be the same between them again. He wishes that he could stop whoever it was from hurting him.
"Mari, have you seen my backpack?" Adrien asks.
"Yes, it is right over there," Marinette says as she points to the bag on the floor to her room.
"Could you hand it to me?" Adrien asks.
"Yes, sure, A-Adrien," Marinette says. She picks up the bookbag and hands it to him.
Adrien smiles at her and sighs. He thinks, Marinette perhaps I am better off without you. He feels tears form in his eyes now.
Marinette sees Adrien's tears and wonders what happened to make him cry. She does not recall having said anything to offend him.
"I will be back later," Marinette says.
Adrien nods his head without asking her where she will be because he does not want to know. He thinks it will only make things more complicated then they are already. He watches her go and sobs. He thinks, so I did lose her already.
Marinette hates to leave Adrien alone like this. She wishes she could stay, but she knows she has something she must get off her chest. She exits the room and heads downstairs. She shuts the door and locks it behind her. She sighs as she goes to meet up with him.
Luka smirks when he sees her. He thinks does this mean she chose me or does it mean that I am just a stupid boy with a hopeless crush? He is not sure of anything much right now.
"Luka, do you know why he was there?" Marinette asks angrily.
"Marinette, what are you going on about now?" Luka asks.
"I want to know, did you know that he would be there?" Marinette repeats the question.
"If by he you mean your ex-boyfriend, then no," Luka replies.
"I did see you talking to Adrien and was about to ask you something, but then that other guy came by and hit him. I could see you were busy, so I left," Luka tells her.
"Whoa, you mean you were spying on me and Adrien? Luka, that was inappropriate," Marinette blurts out.
"Sorry, Marinette, but I went to the park to ask you if you had decided if it was Adrien or me you want to be with when I saw you with him. Then, that other guy shows up out of nowhere and before I could warn you he knocks Adrien out," Luka replies.
"I am having a hard time believing you right now," Marinette says through gritted teeth.
"Believe me or not it is the truth Marinette. Speaking of the truth, did Adrien ever say how he felt about you?" Luka asks.
"I believe that is none of your business," Marinette retorts.
"It is when you are the girl on my mind you know," Luka tells her.
"Luka, getaway, you are to close for comfort," Marinette screams at him.
Luka tries to kiss her, so she pulls the small water bottle out of the inner liner to the jacket Adrien gave her. Marinette is not sure how long it was in there but is sure it will come in handy. She turns it to on and sprays some of the water in his face. She laughs as he backs away with a scowl.
Luka's POV:
Ah, I can not believe she put water on me.
He thinks, she could have just told me the truth about who she loves.
He sighs unsure why the girl can not make her mind up yet between him and Adrien.
Marinette runs before he can catch up to her. She runs until she arrives outside her place, she puts the key in the door, unlocks it, removes the key, enters the apartment, closes and locks the door behind her. She heads upstairs to check on Adrien. She does hope he is okay.
"A-Adrien, are you alright?" Marinette asks as she goes upstairs and enters the room.
"Yes, I am fine," Adrien answers.
Marinette sees his face and notices it is rather red. She does not understand what could have taken place while she was away. She sits down with a look of worry in her eyes.
"Do not worry, Mari," Adrien says.
"You do not understand, Luka tried to kiss me," Marinette says.
Adrien's face falls as he thinks about her with Luka. He thinks, why did she not tell me it was Luka she was going to see? He does not know what to believe. He feels jealous of Luka.
"A-Adrien, I sprayed him with the water from this bottle," Marinette explains as she holds up the spray bottle.
"Ah, yes, I put that in there to make sure you were safe," Adrien says.
"Safe, you worry about my safety?" Marinette asks.
"Yes, I do," Adrien responds.
"He was furious when the water hit him, so I ran," Marinette remarks.
"You did not have hurry back on my account," Adrien says.
"I wanted too," Marinette says.
Adrien smiles because he knows that Marinette wishes to spend time with him. He is not sure why, but he is happy.
Adrien's POV:
Does Marinette love Luka or not?
Marinette's POV:
Why did Adrien kiss me earlier?
It is not like he loves me.
She sighs.
"Mari, you do not know how happy that makes me," Adrien says.
"Adrien, do not say things you do not mean," Marinette says.
Adrien thinks I must find some way to let her know the truth about everything. How do I tell her? How can I explain that I did not believe her love could be sincere when I am the one who hurt her? If anything she should not love me. He puts his hands over his face.
