A Miraculous Easter Lukanette/Adrienette part 15
Narrator's POV:
The person tries to bust through the back door. It does not budge right away either. This does not seem to discourage them one bit. Instead of leaving this mysterious person just kicks at it. Then, they punch it hard twice.
Adrien's POV:
Adrien stands guard in the hopes to defend Marinette from the intruder. He does not wish to see anyone get hurt, but especially not Marinette. He can not believe he has come so far with her already. He refuses to lose her before he gets to take her on a real date.
He hears her snore which brings him little relief under the circumstances. He knows she is asleep, but somehow he still fears for her life. He has no idea what makes him feel so defensive of her all of a sudden.
He supposes it must be the knowledge that she is worth it. He sighs when he realizes he loves her more now than he has in his whole life. He longs to assure her that nothing will rip them apart. How can he when someone is after her?
Marinette's POV:
Marinette wakes up from her peaceful nap. She is aware that she is in danger. She does not care. She must protect the backpack since she told Adrien she would do this for him. She only hopes she will not come to regret this decision later. She does not wish to lose him before she gets to go on a real date with him.
She hears him sigh and knows he must be afraid for her. She wishes she could tell him not to worry. She knows this is not true since she worries about him. If she is honest with herself she worries for them both.
"Adrien, why do not they just go away?" She asks from her place under the stairs.
"I do not know," Adrien whispers in response. He turns around to face her for a moment.
"I love you," Marinette whispers.
"I love you too," Adrien whispers back to her.
Marinette leaves the stairwell for just a second. She hugs Adrien and gives him a quick kiss, then pulls away. She wishes she did not have to return to the staircase. She knows Adrien does not wish her harm so she sits back with his things under the stairs. She makes sure the book bag is well hidden behind her along with the duffel bag. The suitcase she sits on it once again. She struggles not to laugh despite the craziness of the whole situation.
Gabriel's POV:
Adrien's father sees the teenager outside the building. He does not even know Marinette and Adrien are inside it. He just knows the man is up to no good. This is something he does not approve of at all. He rather the person leaves so he does not have to call the police on them.
"Hey, you why do not you just back away from the building slowly?" Gabriel asks.
"Oh, yeah why do not you mind your business, old man?" The teenager scoffs.
"It is rather late for you bit out now," Gabriel tries to tell him.
"Well, you are not my father," He retorts.
"Just go home, I am sure your folks are worried about you," Gabriel tries to reason with him.
"My folks worry about me, ha, ha, they have better things to do," He mocks him.
"I still think you better head back to your place," Gabriel argues.
"I think you better mind your business," He scoffs once more.
Gabriel tries to get the young teen boy to see the error of his ways. He even tries to distract him to get him to forget about whatever or whoever he is after at this building. So, far it does not seem to be working though as the teenager continues to kick at and punch the door.
The teen boy's POV:
He thinks why should this man care what I do with my life when no one else does? He laughs at the very idea that anyone should miss him. The very idea makes no sense to him. None at all, so he just continues to laugh as he tries to break into the old worn out an unused warehouse.
"I have no intention to leave," The teen scoffs.
"I will call the police," Gabriel yells at him.
"I dare you too because they will do a thing to me," He retorts. He comes across as being rather full of it.
"Stop it, you can not just break, and enter a place," Gabriel says as he tries to pull him away from the place.
"Well, you can not just put your hands on me, mister," The teen scoffs as he manages to wriggle his way out of Gabriel's hold on him.
Gabriel tries to reach for him once more, but the teenager proves to fast for him.
The teen boy climbs a ladder that leads to the roof, then kicks the ladder away so that Gabriel can not follow him. He then climbs down the trellis. He kicks and punches at the door again after he is satisfied the pesty old man has left.
Gabriel's POV:
He watches the lad climb the roof, then sees him climb down the other side. He notices him run back to the door, so he gets inside his car, and calls the police. He waits for them to arrive and hopes no one is inside the building. He also hopes if he is wrong whoever they are can handle him better than he could by himself.
He gets back out of the vehicle in enough time to see the boy succeed at breaking the door open. He runs towards him, as he picks up a loose tree branch. He hits him hard enough with it to knock him unconscious. He is glad to see this did not kill him. He does not want to go to jail for murder.
Adrien's POV:
Adrien looks up in surprise as the door is broken open and the person behind it is knocked out. He gasps when he recognizes the person who did this to the teen boy. He knows it is his father, but can not seem to find the words to speak.
Marinette's POV:
Marinette hears the sound of wood breaking and sees the door collapse. She can hardly react before the teen boy passes out due to a tree branch hitting him. She notices then the person who came to their rescue. She thinks wait is that Adrien's father, Gabriel Agreste?
"Adrien, is that your father?" Marinette asks.
"Yes, but ..." Adrien says.
"Adrien, I am glad you are alright son, and you too, Miss Dupain-Cheng," Gabriel states.
"Now, come on home son," Gabriel says.
"Mr. Agreste, I do not think Adrien wishes to go home with you," Marinette explains.
"What makes you think you know my son better than I do?" Gabriel yells at her.
"Do not yell at her," Adrien says with annoyance in his voice.
Adrien's POV:
Adrien hears Marinette stand up for him against his father and hears his father yell at her. He is not too happy to see this take place. He decides he must to her aid at once.
"Do not yell at her," Adrien says with annoyance in his voice.
"Adrien, come on home, son," Gabriel repeats himself.
"No, father," Adrien answers.
"I beg your pardon," Gabriel says.
"You heard me correctly the first time when I said, no," Adrien retorts.
"Son, do not be ridiculous, we can work things out," Gabriel tells him.
"There is nothing to work out between us," Adrien says.
"I suppose she has something to do with all this," Gabriel states as he looks at Marinette in disgust.
"Leave her out of it, she did not make me leave home, you did that all by yourself," Adrien explains.
"I do not think she is the proper sort of girl for you, and..." Gabriel begins to say.
Adrien sees tears form in Marinette's eyes and knows she overheard what his father said about her. "How dare you say that about her, Marinette is far better than anyone you could ever pick out for me. The thing is I do not wish to date anyone else. Marinette is the one for me," Adrien tells his father. He scowls at him for making Marinette cry.
"Now, get before I tell the police you were ever here," Adrien says.
Marinette's POV:
Marinette helps Adrien tie up the teenager and watches as Gabriel leaves to go home. She can not help but think that somehow this must be her fault. She does not like to see Adrien look so upset.
She sees the police show up and arrest the teen boy. She smiles as they leave after they finish filing the report.
Now, she turns to Adrien and says, "I do not think it is safe for you to stay here anymore."
"I suppose you are right, so what do you suggest I do?" Adrien asks.
"How about you check into a hotel?" Marinette suggest.
"I think that is a splendid idea, " Adrien says. He grabs up his duffel bag, suitcase, and backpack now that Marinette stands up again.
This time as Marinette and Adrien leaves through the hole left by the missing door they walk together to the hotel. Once inside, Marinette goes to her room, and Adrien pays to have a room for the night. He gets the key and goes to the room. He is glad to see it is the room beside Marientte's.
