A Miraculous Easter Lukanette/Adrienette part 12

          Marinette's POV:
Marinette reads the note and gasps when she sees what it says. She puts a hand over her mouth in surprise. She feels horrible for the way she reacted to the whole photoshoot now. She thinks I should have heard him out.

She sighs as she realizes that the whole thing was a misunderstanding. She sobs since she feels so bad about her reaction. What will she do now?

Here is the note for those who are curious to see what it contains:
         Dear Marinette,

I know you have gone through a lot.

I want you to know that no matter what I will be here for you.

I  am sorry that your ex-boyfriend murdered your parents years ago and raped you.

None of those things could have been easy for you.

Also, I  know Luka was just a friend, but he was a better one than  I have ever been.

I  have not been completely honest with you.

I   was afraid to tell you the truth the day you gave me your confession.

In some ways, I still am terrified because the only other important woman in my life my mother was taken from me.  I worry about how I will react if the same thing happens to you.

Mari, you mean to much for me to deserve you.

What I am trying to say is I  can not see how you could love someone like me.

     I  love you, too!

I   feel like my heart will break in two if you should ever find that you no longer feel the same way about me.

I was shocked by the way you handled yourself the day that your ex came back into town and attacked me.  It was amazing.  I  know I was unconscious for part of it, but I could feel your presence.

Bluebell Gal, I know you need to let it all soak in so I will give you all the time you need.

     Love,

   Adrien  Agreste

  xoxoxo

PS. I  put roses on the jacket because the color of them reminds me of how special you are to me, and how you are delicate like a rose. Also, I  understand if you ever decide I am not worth it.

Marinette tries to brush the tears away,  but they fall faster than she can catch them.  Funny how things turn out is it not?

"Adrien, you are worth it.  It is me who is not worth it,"  She says quietly to herself.

"I am the one who did not give you a fair chance to say a word," Marinette remarks.

Marinette talks to herself for about ten minutes, then she cries herself to sleep. She dreams, but the dream is not that pleasant.  Under the circumstances, this is rather normal for her.

      Adrien's POV:
The next day, Adrien gets up, steps into the shower inside the small downstairs bathroom, dries off and changes into a fresh set of clothes.  He looks at the box with a sad look on his face.

He thinks should I just give up and go home or what?

He sits on the stairs unsure of anything.

He wishes he could prove he meant no harm.

      Marinette's  POV:

Marinette gets up out of the hotel bed, she removes her clothes from the day before, she showers, dries off, and dresses.  She looks at the jacket and all the guilt from yesterday comes back to her.  She was to blame.  It was all her fault that Adrien went away sad.

She claims to love him yet brushes him off over a silly photo.  She should have known better.  It was not like her to react in such away.  The whole thing was rather ridiculous now that she thought about it.

There was only one thing she could do.  She decides the first chance she gets she will apologize to him.  She can only hope she is not too late.

       Narrator's  POV:
Adrien goes to the park.  He has no clue why he bothered to come here. It is not like she will be there waiting for him.  He sighs as he sits under a tree to think.

Kagami sees him and smiles. She walks over to him and asks, "Where is the cute guitarist?"

"Oh, have you heard?"  Adrien asks.

"Heard what exactly?"  Kagami asks him.

"Luka is dead.  He was brutally killed by Marinette's ex-boyfriend, Evan," Adrien explains.

"No, Luka!   He is not dead, tell me this is not true," Kagami says with fresh tears in her eyes.

"I am sorry, but it is true," Adrien replies kindly.

     Narrator's POV:
Marinette arrives at the park and sees a girl who looks similar to herself but with brown eyes and shorter hair talking to Adrien.  She can see the sad expression on her face. She knows that look all too well.  It must mean someone dear to her either left her or is dead.

"Hi, A-Adrien.  Hi, Kagami."  Marinette says.

    "Hi, Marinette,"  Kagami says sadly.

"What happened to her?"  Marinette asks.

"Look, I did not mean to upset her.  I  just told her about Luka because she asked about him,"  Adrien says.

"Oh, dear,  I am sorry,"  Marinette says.  She hugs Kagami as the young lady sobs.

Kagami looks at  Marinette in surprise.  "Thanks for being so nice to me," She says.  Then, she leaves.

        Adrien's POV:
Adrien looks at Marinette with uncertainty. He thought she did not want to speak to him or see him again.  He does not move from the shade.

     Marinette's POV:
Marinette sits beside him and says, "Adrien, I am sorry.  The other day I never should have said what I did to you. It was wrong for me to lash out about a silly picture."

"It is alright, Mari, I forgive you,"  Adrien answers.

      "You do?"  Marinette asks.

"Yes, I do because I love you,"  Adrien says. He feels a blush form on his face.

"I read the note," Marinette says.

    "Note, what note?"  Adrien asks.

"This one," Marinette responds as she pulls the note out of her pocket.

Adrien glances over it before he hands it back to her. He looks away and sighs.

"Mari, I  do not deserve you,"  Adrien says.

"Adrien Agreste, do not ever say such things again,"  Marinette blurts out.

"I am the one who does not deserve you,"  She says.

    Adrien's POV:
Adrien gently places a hand on her face and stares into her eyes. He thinks I know I told her I would give her all the time she needs, so why does she have to make it so difficult?  He leans in and kisses her cheek. He lets go of her face, stands up, and says, "Mari, I love you. I will see you tomorrow."  He starts to walk away.

   Marinette's POV:
Marinette grabs his arm and turns him to face her. She looks at him and says,  "I do not need time away from you.  I love you, Adrien!" She sees his eyes feel up with tears of happiness. She pulls him close and closes the gap between them. She kisses him on the lips. She thinks please do not let this end.  Please do not ever let our love be over.

  Adrien's  POV:
Adrien puts his arms around her neck and returns the kiss. He feels so happy to have her love. He is not sure where all this leads them in the future,  but as long as they are together what does it matter?
