Chapter 3

Haley's POV:

Linds and I walked to breakfast in silence. I glanced at her, wanting to confront her but kept quiet and looked in front... Again. Confront her, you might ask? Well, the day she'd forced me to go shopping with her, she ran down to the lobby to grab some money and returned empty handed but with a paled face saying that she'd seen Connor, Riley and Toby in the lobby. I didn't believe her but she insisted that she was correct. As emotionless my face must have been, my insides had melted and exploded at the same time. They could NOT have been there, right? RIGHT? I had to excuse myself for a moment to get some fresh air because I couldn't breathe. I hadn't seen them in TWO YEARS and suddenly, I had my best friend telling me that she'd seen them in the lobby of the hotel we were staying in. Put yourself in my shoes and then tell me how you would be fine. Anyways, despite the shock that Lindsey had given me, we hadn't seen the boys around the hotel for the past week and I was beginning to doubt her... Pleasant announcement.

"Haley, stop glancing at me like that. I know what I saw and I am not lying about it," Lindsey said with an irritated voice and I jumped slightly in surprise. She had already been questioned about it multiple times and now knew what I'd ask even before I would say it. I did feel a bit embarrassed, I admit but I really was doubtful and curious. I just wanted some answers. I sighed and nodded.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I'll stop. Let's just get some breakfast."

Connor's POV:

"Hurry up, you guys!" I said loudly to Riley on the phone as I stood outside the Four Seasons and waited for my brothers to show up so we could leave for the studio. We had some really crucial days ahead of us that could either make or break the EP. We could not mess up and we could NOT be late but if my dear brothers did not hurry up, we would be late for sure. Hence, my impatience. I was about to call Riley again when I saw him and Toby sprint out the front door. I sighed in relief but stopped short, noticing something missing.

"Oh thank Go--- Wait. Where is the backpack?" I asked them. Riley quickly spun to face Toby, whose eyes widened and he looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Toby! I told you to grab it on your way out!" Riley exclaimed.

"I-I thought YOU were taking it! I so so sorry, C-Connor! I'll go get it an--" Toby rambled as I let out a grunt of frustration but took in a deep breath to prevent myself from yelling at my little brother.

"NO! YOU stay here and I'LL go get it! Just give me the keys." I said as calmly as I could. Riley silently tossed me the keys, which I caught and ran back inside. Sprinting to our room on the sixth floor, I ran inside, grabbed our shared backpack and ran back to the lift. You see, that backpack contained all our important belongings, such as our passports, ID cards, extra money and we had to take it everywhere with us because without it, we'd be stuck in one state forever. I felt as though the elevator wasn't slow enough to take me back to the lobby. I almost yelled out in delight as the elevator dinged to signal it stopping at the ground floor. As soon as the elevator doors opened, I ran out and took a left, sprinting towards the hotel entrance. Not even looking at my brothers, I got into the car and slammed the door shut.

"Con, I really am so sorry! I genuinely thought that Riley was get---" I heard Toby's small voice say from the back. I briefly closed my eyes and took in a deep breath to lessen my panting state.

"It's okay, Tobs. Let's just go and get to the studio before something else happens."

Haley's POV:

Lindsey had left for a conference and I headed to the elevators to get my stuff from our room because my photography conference was going to begin in half an hour and it took me 15 minutes to get to the destination. The elevators were taking some time to come to the ground floor so decided to check my schedule on my phone to see if I had gotten prepared for everything that would be discussed at the conference. These conferences were vital in us gaining knowledge in our particular fields and I needed to work hard for every second of them if I wanted to succeed in my field. I heard the elevator behind me ding and I closed all apps in my phone and placed it in my pocket. As I turned around, I felt someone rush out of the elevator and a sudden familiar scent hit me, causing me to freeze. Normally, I wouldn't have given the matter a second the thought but since Lindsey had mentioned something to me, I was reconsidering not thinking about the situation, especially when a certain Connor McDonough wore the same deodorant. I spun around but found no one there. My heart sunk tremendously but I could do nothing about it. As I rushed into the same elevator Connor had ran out of (hopefully it WAS Connor), I was made certain of one thing... The boys definitely were staying at the Four Seasons and I had a really strong feeling that I was going to come face to face with them really soon...
