12b: Her Diary
WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT
Before the lights went out,
I was sitting at a table with you my muse as my sole guest.
Before the lights went out,
you lavished me with promises to fulfill my wishes, that I thought you were genie.
Before the lights went out,
the sparkles of your smiles were too blinding, turned me into a reckless fool.
Unbeknownst, I was just a tool.
Before the lights went out,
you crouched, ready to pounce,
But I was just entranced,
swooning in illusions of your dance.
Then the lights went out,
I was too busy gazing up at your high pedestal,
But you were no longer there to feast with me.
Then the lights went out,
and you struck, quicker than King Cobra.
You took a nose dive into my head and ate what's left of my sanity.
Then the lights went out,
and all around was darkness,
You kept on digging inside my head until I blew a fuse and they called me madness.
When the lights went out,
I realized you were just a beautiful masquerade
When the lights went out,
then I saw the light.
