Chapter 6: Haunted

" You almost scared me!", I said to Tom's mother, Ana Lawson, who had been standing there for some time now.
" I'm sorry", the old woman replied with a smile," I didn't mean to scare you my dear".
" How long have you been standing here?".
" I just stood here for about five seconds. I wanted to ask for the toothpaste".
I sighed," Seriously mother, I'm really stressed out and frightened".
I calledl her mother because she was my second mother in my second home.
" What's wrong dear?", said Ana with a concerned look on her face.
     " Its nothing really".
" I am no fool. I overheard your discussion with my son. What did you dreamed about Nina?".
" Oh its nothing really", I said and walked away, trying to avoid any more interrogation.
But Ana was more stubborn than any other person I've known. Once she's curious about something, she must know of it to the last detail.
" Nina", said Ana as she followed me to my room," Nina dear, you know that you aren't going to hide anything from me".
" Oh mother, please nothing is wrong".
" Nina, sit", she ordered, sitting on my bed.
I sighed and sat beside her.
" What did you dream about Nina?".
I sobbed before replying," Promise me you won't tell anyone, not even Tom".
     " I promise my dear".
I sighed and then spoke," In my dream, I woke up in the middle of the night and heard a strange call. It was so strong that it hypnotized me, making me to leave the house. I ventured into the forest and entered the River Everline. I stumbled into the heart of a cabin, controlled by a witch named Witch Golem. She undressed me and placed me in a coffin filled with water to the brim. She muttered some meaningless words to some goddess and made a light spirit enter my body. She brought out a strange knife and tried to stab me with it. She wanted to bring someone called Sara Bliss, but a man named Anas stopped her. While they fought, I quickly dressed myself and fled. But before I could escape, the knife flew straight at me and stabbed me in the back".
" My God!", she exclaimed," What manner of dream is this Nina?".
" Its just a dream mother, that's all".
" Its not a dream, its a vision. Some forces are up against you Nina, and you have to show them that you are stronger dear".
" And how can I do that?".
" Greater is He that lives in you, than he who lives in the world".
" So God will help me?".
" Yes dear. And God will never abandon nor forsake you, as long as you obey him".
" Ok mother. Thank you so much".
" You are welcome my child".
She smiled and then took her leave. With my spirit lightened up, I robbed my cream, put on my clothes, and sat in front of the mirror to dress my hair. As I looked at the mirror, I saw another person inside, exactly like me, except for the fact that she had green hair, green eyes, and even her skin was pale green. I blinked, my heart beating more than the usual, and opened my eyes to see my reflection only. I blinked again but didn't see that strange face again. I realised that the result of that dream was now haunting me.

Today became my worst day ever. Everything gave me no pleasure at all. The food I ate tasted more like poison, and I threw up most of the times in the toilet. Tom was now very concerned of my condition. Even Ana seemed to sense that I wasn't in good shape. I tried to convince them that I was alright, but they listened with their eyes more than they do with their ears.
" I'm calling Doctor Collins to determine what illness she has", said Tom.
" I've told you before, I'm fine", I replied before coughing.
" Nina dear, you know how much I love you as if you were my daughter, and you know how stubborn I am. We are going to have you checked up and see what drugs you really need", said Ana.
I argued no further," Ok mother, as you wish".
" That's my girl", said Ana with a smile," Now go to your room and have a nice sleep".
The word sleep made me remember the Relics. I thanked Ana before proceeding to my bedroom. I collapsed on my bed and laid there, almost looking lifeless. With my tongue as dry as anything and the sun shining brighter, Nature made me have my nap.
But instead of stumbling back in the Relics, I was in the house, waking up from my bed. It was nighttime, and everywhere looked blurry. But something else drew my attention. It was the call, again with its mischievous tone. I was no fool. I saw an umbrella and carried it as a weapon. If the crazy witch thinks I can't defend myself, then she would soon see the beast in me. I wasn't hypnotized by it, but it beckoned me to come. I walked with caution, ready to swing my umbrella against anything that tries to harm me. I came to the living room and took a sudden halt. There sat someone playing the piano which was on the east side of the living room. It was the same person I saw in the mirror, the green figure who was haunting me. She looked at me with her beautiful green eyes while she played the melody. She called me to sit down with her, and I obeyed as her puppet, dropping my weapon and walking towards her. I sat beside her and listened with interest to the song she played. She finished her song, looked at me in the eyes, and began mentioning my name and my other name in some enchantment. After all these, she kissed me in the lips, and my eyes widened when I felt something strange entering and infecting me.

Doctor Collins arrived 15 minutes after I slept off. He was ushered to my room after a brief dialogue concerning my state of health. His first mistake was to examine my heartbeat. As he was about to do so, I came to life, spranged up and bit his nose. Tom and Collins wrestled with me until Collins had his nose back. Then a fight began, two men against one woman. The results were concluded in a psychiatric hospital, where I was strapped to a chair, locked up in a room and left there to scream wildly while the two men had stitches on their wounds.
