Chapter 3: The Inevitable Moment
I got lifted from the ground, my flame whip useless against the enchanted ropes. The Earth Rels were the only ones I know that could make such enchanted traps. This was my first time of getting caught in a trap, being deceived by the bush. It rustled happily, staking its leaves with pride. But then my sense of smell kicked in. I perceived the smell of someone too familiar, who wasn't that easy to forget. Suddenly something rose under the bush, a fat Rel wearing an executioner's armour and even carried the weapon. He was the one I was smelling, and somehow my face twisted in disgust when I confirmed who the hunter was.
" Finally, meat!", said the hunter.
" Farax! You idiot! Its me you bubbling fool! Let me out of here", I yelled.
Farax' excitement twisted into annoyance as he realised he didn't caught the deeron(gotten from the name deer) he was looking for. The foul beast had eaten most of his crops, so he decided to hunt it down. He would however have to give up the game as he knew how important I was to Dogan. While the insults burned in him, he helped me get out from the trap and bent down to reset it again. While he was at work and I stood with my back against him, he stole few moments of looking at my buttocks and chuckled under his breath. After he was through, he looked to me and said," Well Miss Flamingo, what are you doing out here in the forest of Tobata?".
" I came here to have a stroll Farax, nothing more. Must have woken up in the real world which must have made me remain here until I got back", I replied, trying to place my memories together.
" If it isn't that so Miss Flamingo. Anyway, I'll have to get you back to Dogan as he was seriously worried about you. You shouldn't have disappeared like that without letting us know Nina".
" I know, I know. I'm sorry. Just felt like walking and suddenly my alarm clock woke me up".
Farax laughed," You humans and your toys. Anyway, lets forget our talk and head back to Degora".
I followed Farax, leaving the beautiful forest of Tobata. The forest was indeed colourful, and I must have felt it would be interesting being in a place like this. But anyway, we got to Degora by nightfall and met the others who were waiting for Farax to bring home the deeron. Naguda was a lovely lily who had the heart of Seth. Naguda was a master of the blue arts while Seth was a retired sceptan warrior. My love, Dogan, was a neutral. He alone was the most skillful among us, and he looked pleased seeing me. After the others greeted me, he invited me into his room, where we chatted and laughed. But we felt the attractive force, too irresistible, our faces coming slowly towards each other for that perfect moment. But something happened to me. Strangely, I found myself back in the train, not with Dogan.
A woman woke me up from my sleep. She smiled at my startled face, half mixed with annoyance and surprise. She looked back without saying a word, and following her gaze, I realised that I finally arrived at Euston, London. Half of me wanted her burnt or murdered or hanged, for making me lose such a golden opportunity of missing Dogan's hard lips against mine, his body on top of my body, and the act of love interchanging between us. But the other half reasoned that I came to Euston for a purpose, not to be in bed with Dogan. I didn't find that idiot again, but I was glad she left so that she wouldn't received some bullets from me. I felt she was an ungrateful creature for waking me up like that and for failing to apologize to me. But it didn't matter now, because I had a special assignment to carry out.
I exit the train as other travellers were about to enter. I stood for a while and breathed the air of Euston. Mom really would miss me though, and Tom would be excited to see me yet again. He had taken the holiday but didn't took me with him because of my work. But now that I too had my rest, Tom was eager to feel my lips once again.
I stopped a taxi and boarded the vehicle. I told the driver my destination; the fishing village on Basque Coast. He hummed before calling out the price; 15 euros. At first, I felt this driver was cheating me, realising that I don't even know where I was going. But since I had no choice. Obeying the law of taxis and strange customers, I gave him my fare, watching his greedy smug on his face as he took the money. Facing the road, he turned on the engines and drove the taxi back on the road. While he was driving, I brought out my phone and saw 16 missed calls, all from Tom. He even sent 5 messages, both in the evening and morning. It was 8:02 am, and the last message came around 7:50 am. Gosh, he must be waiting desperately for me.
I ignore the missed calls but read his messages. They all expressed concerns about my journey from Ashbury to Euston, and more importantly, my safety. I was his beautiful pearl, the golden treasure, too good to be thrown to any man but himself. He had strong feelings for me, so concentrated and impossible to dilute. This chemistry between us boiled deep into his heart. He didn't wanted anything bad to happen to me. He wanted the best for me and for our future.
The stupid driver got caught in a heavy traffic, and tried to extort more money from me. I was too stubborn to this brute, so much so that I warned him not to be embellzzing from people he didn't know at all. Seeing this, he kept his big mouth shut until we got to our destination. Thank God, I thought as I got out of that Godforsaken vehicle. I looked at the entrance of the village and saw a man coming towards me, his face which was full of fear and anxiety now twisted into a face of happiness and relief, with a smile across his face.
