- Chapter Twenty-Nine -
"I've missed you so much."

"Is anyone here?" Allison called out with a laugh, gripping tightly onto Primrose's arm as the two women drunkenly stumbled into the building Five had led them to. Klaus was by their side but was making an attempt to walk by himself, still staggering though as he put a hand on Prim's shoulder every now and then to stabilise himself.

"Hello?" Prim called out, wearily blinking around at the place as Klaus came to a stop beside her and bent down to lean his head tiredly on her shoulder and circle is arms around her waist in a hug as she patted his head.

"Le petit mort. Le petit mort." Klaus slurred out, giggling as his hair tickled Primrose's neck and she laughed at the feeling, pushing him away from her again.

"What?" Allison turned to face him with a little laugh of her own, her and Prim's arms still interlocked with one another. "You don't speak French."

"It's 'the little death'." Klaus told the two women, taking his arms away from his friends waist and stretching them widely with a large groan. "I learnt it from that shitty movie back in 2014." He clicked his tongue and pointed his thumb behind him with a grimace.

Allison let out a hearty laugh and Primrose found herself laughing too, still in a hazed state of drunken exhaustion. It was when Allison stopped walking that Primrose stopped too and took notice of her awed expression as she stared upwards, Prim furrowed her eyebrows and with her mouth still parted in an unspoken laugh, she turned her head to.

Above them, behind the railing of a balcony was Luther, Vanya, some random guy and...Diego. For a moment, all of the breath was knocked out of Primrose's lungs when she made eye contact with him. Her eyes went wide, her mouth went dry and it felt like her hazed stupor had disappeared within a blink; she watched as Diego himself straightened up at the sight of them down below, his own eyes widening slightly when they made eye contact.

"Oh wow," Klaus mumbled, Primrose was barely paying attention to him and was too busy still staring up at Diego who was staring back down with his mouth still parted in shock. "I know it's impossible but...did we all get sexier?"

He then laughed and waved up at the siblings as if he wasn't bothered by the sudden knowledge that they were all together once more. It was silent again for a moment and Allison, although having been distracted by seeing Vanya again, turned to glance in between Diego and Primrose with excitement and uncertainty at the same time. Klaus did the same, then Five, then Luther, Vanya looked confused as she did it but decided to keep her mouth shut as the rest of them waited for one of the two to say something.

Diego spoke first, calling out her name in a gentle tone. "Prim?"

"Diego?" She rasped, her mouth dry from the shock she had endured when seeing the missing pieces from 2019 up on a balcony. "Is that you? Because you kind of look like Antonio Banderas from here."

Not the best first reunion sentence but his lips quirked into the smallest smile nonetheless, Primrose's own mouth beginning to stretch into a grin yet neither of them moved from their positions.

"Vanya." Allison said after she had let the two of them have their own small reunion. Primrose tore her gaze away from Diego and looked up at Vanya who was smiling widely and gripping the balcony banister excitedly.

"I can't believe I have sisters." She laughed slightly.

"Oh, Primrose isn't our sibling." Diego pointed out, a knife in hand as he pointed it down at the strawberry-blonde whose attention went to him once more. "Definitely not. Hopefully." He furrowed his eyebrows slightly and Primrose grinned again, the reality of the situation slowly starting to wash over her.

Diego, Luther and Vanya all slowly walked down the steps towards the lower floor where the rest of them were. A small fluttering appeared in Prim's stomach as Diego descended closer to the ground floor and his features became more distinct, he stopped beside Five who was next to Klaus and then next to Klaus was Primrose who was the only person Diego was looking at.

Vanya stood before Allison awkwardly for a moment before Allison spoke.

"I missed you." She murmured softly and the rest of them exchanged looks, knowing that the last time Allison had spoke to Vanya normally was when her throat had been sliced open by the violin bow.

"Thank God someone did." Vanya chuckled softly before opening her arms for an embrace, Allison wasting no time in launching forward to give her one.

Prim smiled at them before turning around at the sound of Klaus' grunts to see Diego gripping his shoulder. "You are drunk." He told him, Klaus shaking his head in denial.

"No...just a little, just a few..." He pointed behind him slightly to Prim and Allison before seeing the two sisters hugging. "Oh, that's so sweet."

As Klaus left Diego's side and went to join the hug, Diego and Primrose were left to face each other. Diego twirled a knife in his hand as he looked down at her and Primrose fiddled with her fingers slightly before letting her lips tip up into a lopsided smile.

"Hey." She greeted quietly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and looking down at her floral dress that she had gotten into when Five had demanded for them to get ready.

"Hey sugar." He replied just as quietly and Prim looked up at the nickname, one she hadn't heard in two years. He met her eyes with no hesitation and to her astonishment, there were actually...tears in his eyes? Not that noticeable but to her, it was. Seeing him on the verge of tears made her start to tear up too.

It wasn't long until she had unwillingly let out a small sob and launched herself towards him with her arms open wide for a hug. He responded almost immediately when her arms circled his neck, his circling her waist as they both held onto each other for dear life and swayed slightly side to side to keep their balance. Every tight grip, every small shaky breath in each others ears, every squeeze to reassure themselves that it was real, it all meant something to them both.

"I've missed you so much." Prim whispered into his ear as she continued to hug him tightly and their sways slowed to a stop. "I may have doubted the chance of us ever meeting again a couple of times but there was still a bit of underlying hope."

She felt him tense up slightly, freeze in the embrace and she pulled back with her eyebrows scrunched together with concern. His gaze avoided her eyes and there was some sot of apologetic glint in them but once he had gained some sort of composure, he looked back up at her again with a soft smile and reached out to tuck the hair that had fallen out from behind her ear, back behind it.

The feeling of his fingers on her skin and in her hair made her stomach flutter again and she grew a bright red as he drew his hand back. They were still stood in very close proximity and when Diego glanced away for a second, Primrose did too and found they were all staring at him. Five looked more like he was glaring and Diego gulped nervously but Primrose turned around so they could all face each other instead of her and Diego being separate from the group.

"Klaus." Five broke his harsh stare with Diego and turned to the man who was still in an embrace with Allison and Vanya. "Is Ben here?"

"Oh, uh...no." Klaus sighed, shaking his head. "No, unfortunately, ghosts can't time travel."

"But-" Prim piped up, remembering exactly how they managed to get Ray out of the holding cell in time for the riot at Stadtlers which went disastrously wrong. Klaus however, held up a hand to her and shushed her for a moment, Prim looking back at Diego with wide eyes and an affronted demeanour.

"All right, then." Five prevented any further conversation and started up the stairs again towards the balcony where Primrose had first seen Diego. "Let's get down to business."

The group knew that the time for greetings was over and they all began to go up the stairs, Klaus going after Vanya and asking what was new as Diego began to follow Primrose towards the stairs.

"Hey, Diego." Allison said but he only glanced back at her with a small nod. "Can't say hi to no one except Prim?"

"Hi, Allison." He murmured and Prim laughed as they all made their way up the stairs behind the rest of the group.

"What was that?" Allison called from the other staircase.

"Hi, Allison!" He said louder and she thanked him, smiling in satisfaction as she continued to walk on. He heard Prim laugh again from in front of him and smirked slightly. "What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing." She shrugged her shoulders innocently as they reached the top of the balcony and walked towards the seats in the middle of the room, she looked over her shoulder at him with a teasing smile as she spoke next. "Just that you're a softie now."

"Wha-" He cut himself off, jogging forwards slightly to walk by her side instead of walking behind her. "I am not a softie."

"Course not." She rolled her eyes with a smile as they approached the others. "Softie." She added and he went to retort with a witty and slightly flirtatious quip but Five cut them off before he could.

"All right," He said, straightening his blazer and turning to face them all. Klaus grabbed Primrose's arm and yanked her away from Diego and down into the seat next to him. "First off, I wanna say I'm sorry. I know I really screwed the pooch on this whole going-back-in-time-and-getting-stuck thing."

Primrose nodded and pursed her lips, glancing to Diego who was sat on the arm of the chair and had also glanced towards her after Five's words.

"But the real kick in the pants here," He continued and the not-actually-a-couple-due-to-complications-but-maybe-a-couple turned their attention back to him. "is that we brought the end of the world here with us."

"Oh, my God, again?" Klaus said from across the room, Prim looked back at him in shock as she hadn't even noticed he had left her side. He held a bottle of alcohol in his hand once more and a glass in the other. She looked back to see the rest of them nodding their heads and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Hang on, all of you knew?" She asked and they nodded again, Allison shrugging apologetically.

"Why are we always the last ones to find out about the end of the world-" Klaus butted in again before cutting himself off with a sudden realisation. "Oh, my God. My cult is gonna be so pissed. Five! I told them we had until 2019." He whined.

"We have until Monday." Five told him, not amused in the slightest. "We have six days."

"Is it Vanya?" Klaus asked, taking a sip of his drink.

"Klaus." Allison said warningly.

"What? It's usually Vanya." He defended, holding his arms up in defence slightly but still careful not to spill his drink. Primrose looked over to Vanya who turned away from Klaus and towards Five again.

"Do you have any leads, Five?" She asked softly and Diego held up a file, handing it over to Five.

"Yeah, we have one." He said and passed it to Allison who opened it and Primrose stood from her chair, walking around to stand behind Allison and look down at the picture. It looked like the picture of the man in Reginald Hargreeves office from when she had been in there once so she presumed it was the siblings dad and he standing on the grassy knoll.

"Holy shit, is that your dad?"

"Yeah."

"That's him?" Vanya took a closer look at the blurry photo, her mouth falling agape slightly.

"Standing on the grassy knoll." Diego confirmed with a nod of his head and Primrose turned to him with her mouth agape, he only pursed his lips and nodded once more before she turned back to Five when he opened his mouth again.

"Diego and I have been trying to talk to Dad about exactly what this means." He told the group. "So far, we've got nothing."

"Not nothing." Diego said and they all looked over to him once again. "He's planning to kill Kennedy." He said.

"Maybe." Five dismissed it slightly.

"I thought that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy." Primrose said, looking up at Diego. "If it was your dad then wouldn't we have learned about it in History?"

"Not unless he was smart enough to frame Oswald." Diego pointed out and Prim smiled wryly, unsure of whether what Diego was saying could be true or not.

"But-" Five spoke once more, cutting all conversation short. "But we don't know who or what set doomsday in motion. Could be Kennedy, could be something entirely independent. But if we know something changes the timeline, we have to make it right."

"Yeah, but how, if we don't know what's broken?" Allison asked him, furrowing her eyebrows and letting out a small scoff of a laugh.

"Come on, do the math." Diego spoke up, looking over at his sister and glancing momentarily towards Primrose. "We know dad's having shady-ass meetings with some shady-ass people. We know he's on the grassy knoll in three days to kill the president. So I think we all know what we have to do."

"Kill dad."

"Find dad."

Oh boy.
