- Chapter Twenty-Four -
"I could handle the ridicule."

"We've been waiting for two hours." Primrose informed Allison quietly, tapping her foot on the floor of the police station impatiently. Allison sat next to her, her blue coat buttoned up all the way whereas Primrose's yellow one was unbuttoned and her hair was actually down that day.

"I know, it's ridiculous." She sighed, shaking her head and watching as an officer walked past them, paying no mind.

The two of them hadn't slept after the events of last night, just sat silently through the night with hot drinks in their hands. Allison was so shaken up that Primrose didn't leave her side except from when on of them needed the bathroom. They decided between them that it would be better to go to the station the next day instead of straight away so they wouldn't have to wait around for processing and hopefully just get in and get out after doing what they needed.

It was early morning when the two set out, dressed quickly but presentably and ready to go and do whatever was needed. But their 'get in and get out' plan had been foiled by the fact that they were still sat on the same bench after two hours of waiting.

"Want me to go and ask again? Maybe they forgot." Prim offered and went to stand up but Allison stopped her shaking her head and putting a hand out.

"I'll go." She said and stood from the bench whilst Primrose sat back down, nodding her head whilst Allison set off towards the front desk.

Prim watched as Allison made her way over to the desk and started talking to the officer behind it. He barely even looked at her throughout the whole situation, maybe taking a small couple of glances but it really wasn't enough. Allison cam back to the bench eventually, sighing frustratedly whilst muttering something about 'honour and dignity'.

"What did he say?" Prim asked as she sat down next to her, clasping her hands together tightly on her lap whilst she looked straight ahead.

"I can't talk to him unless I'm a lawyer." She said at first but then her jaw clenched as she continued. "Barely even looked at me. He wasn't interested in what I had to say in the first place and I bet if it was you were Ray's wife he would've let you in."

"Well, I'd be more than happy to try. I'd say my acting skills are quite alright. You know I tricked someone at the station back in 2019 that I was pregnant with Diego's baby." She offered, beginning to stand again  with a reminiscent grin but Allison shook her head and Primrose sat back down with a small smile.

"I already told him I'm his wife and plus, interracial marriages weren't legalized until 1967 so you'd either be arrested or laughed at." She reasoned, speaking quietly to her about the future before glancing at the officer again.

"I could handle the ridicule." Primrose shrugged with a smile but decided to just listen to Allison because as Ray's wife, she had the first say in everything that they were doing at the moment, Primrose was mostly just there for moral support.

Another officer walked past them with a man being held by his collar ranting about it being illegal to hand out flyers, Allison's gaze followed them and she shook her her head before looking straight ahead again. Primrose sighed and crossed one leg over the other on her chair whilst they waited.

"Prim! Prim!" Allison was whisper-yelling as she turned the corner of the police station, approaching her friend.

Eventually, an officer had allowed Allison to go and talk to Ray but Primrose wasn't allowed to join her and instead waited back at the bench where they had been sat for the previous two hours. Whilst the two were talking, Prim really didn't have anything to do and just settled for humming slightly under her breath.

A couple of officers came to her and asked if she needed anything but she sent them off with a polite smile but scowled once their backs were turned. They hadn't come up to her and Allison for two hours and then as soon as Allison left, they were suddenly so eager to help Primrose if need be. She didn't need help obviously and just told them she was waiting for someone. They wished her a good day and tipped their hat.

Dicks.

"What's wrong?" Primrose stood at the sight of Allison walking towards her with an excited smile on her face, she furrowed her eyebrows at the behaviour as Allison cupped their hands together and looked as though she was one second from bouncing off the walls.

"I think Klaus is here."

"What?" Primrose exclaimed, eyes flying wide open as Allison shushed her gently. An officer passed them, narrowing his eyes slightly as Prim's exclamation echoed around the bustling Dallas Station. "How? What? When? Why? What? How? Where? Did I say when? How?"

"I don't know, I don't know!" Allison fretted with a wide smile despite her husband being in a holding cell. "But when I was coming out from talking to Ray, I saw this guy with Klaus' hand tattoos and he said 'All the children of the prophet have them'." She finished with a small wheeze and Primrose smiled.

"Trust Klaus to create a cult when getting lost in the space time continuum." She said and the two of them laughed together quietly over the man before she continued. "Wait, does that mean he's in 1963 Dallas?"

"It must do, right?" Allison asked, raising an eyebrow with her smile still on her face.

"Yeah, yeah then we have to find him." Primrose nodded and Allison's smile faltered a little bit, but she nodded back with equal enthusiasm. "I haven't seen him in so long! I miss him so much!"

"I miss him too." Allison informed with a smile, though her giddiness was nothing compared to Primrose's, who looked like she was going to start jumping up and down at any moment her smile was that big.

Primrose missed Klaus the most from all the things in her life back in 2019. Yes, she missed Diego but she didn't know him for as long as she had known Klaus. The two of them were best friends, complete opposites but they were stuck together like magnets to a fridge the moment they met on that dusty sidewalk. He was often in her dreams, the two of them doing stupid shit together or his natural presence just being there.

Thinking of him just made her realise how much and the idea of him being in Dallas at the exact same time they were after being separated by time and space for two years excited her greatly. A sudden thought occurred to her and she dropped her smile, instead cocking her head to one side in a questioning manner.

"How are we going to find him?" She asked with a small frown and a small narrowing of her eyes. Allison's joy seemed to waver slightly too at the question as she gaped for a second before closing her mouth with a tight smile.

"We will, we'll find him." She reassured and Prim nodded too woth another shaky laugh.

"I just can't believe he's alive. Here and alive." The strawberry-blonde gave a weak smile to her friend and Allison grinned back at her, linking their arms as they began to walk out of the police station.

"Alive and special no doubt."

A/N: This is a very, very short chapter because I have a bit of writers block and I feel so bad because the writing for this season isn't going well at the moment but I promise it'll get better as it goes on.
