- Chapter Thirteen -
"Maybe if you would've listened to me, it wouldn't hurt."
Klaus and Primrose did not stay in the car. The two of them left it shortly after Diego did, following behind him up two staircases. He was ready to launch around the corner with one of his knives when they approached from behind, disrupting his power pose.
"So, what exactly is the plan here, big guy?" Klaus asked him sluggishly, looking at him lazily.
"I told you to wait in the car." Diego replied, glancing back at Primrose who stood to the side of her friend. "Both of you." He added, the strawberry-blonde giving a slight roll of her eyes.
"Yeah, but you also told me that licking a nine-volt battery would give me pubes." The man with the alcohol bottle said and Prim softly hit Diego's arm as he began to smirk slightly at the memory before he turned his face to his brother and his friend.
"We were eight." He stated and Klaus shrugged, beginning to walk forward onto the corridor, but the other two adults pulled him back. As much as Primrose wanted to get these guys for torturing Klaus, the man himself being seen by them, whilst drunk, was not a good idea.
"For once in your life," His brother started after making lots of protests, grabbing Primrose very softly by the arm as well as he began to lead them back down the stairs. "I need you to listen to me, okay? Now, go back to the car. If I don't come out in two minutes, that means, I'm probably dead."
"You do realize that I can literally protect you, right?" Prim asked, staring at him disbelievingly.
"That happens, go get help." He continued, ignoring the woman, but sparing her a glance. "Okay?"
Klaus sighed and reluctantly agreed as his brother patted him on the shoulder and winked before going back up the stairs. He didn't get very far until his arm was grabbed by Primrose, he turned to her with raised eyebrows, glancing down at their contact before looking back up at her face.
"If you won't let me come, then, just be careful, okay? I'm not losing anyone else." She was deadly serious and he could tell, so he retreated down a couple of steps and held her shoulders tightly.
"I'll make it back." He promised her. "I promise you, I'll make it back." Their eye contact was held for a moment until Prim nodded hesitantly, giving him the go ahead. He remained still for a second, just staring at her until he continued up the stairs slowly.
Primrose and Klaus remained at the bottom of the stairs, ignoring Diego's orders to go back to the car. It was only a minute until they heard gunfire and rushed back up the stairs. Klaus grabbed his brother and threw him back into Primrose who scanned him for injuries, turns out he had gotten shot in the arm.
"Diego." She reprimanded as he groaned in pain, as she put her hands over his wound to try and heal it, but it wouldn't work with the gunshots being fired behind her and the bullet still lodged in the wound.
"They're getting away." He said and went back down the stairs, ignoring the strawberry-blondes protests as she followed him. They ran into the parking lot and saw that the tires had been deflated, no doubt by Hazel and Cha-Cha.
"Was this all part of your master plan?" Klaus asked, leaning against an ice cream truck that was parked in front of Diego's car.
"Shut up." He remarked and looked back at him before helplessly looking at Prim, who glared and turned away. "Don't be like that."
"I told you to let me come with you and you refused, now there's a bullet in your arm, Diego!" She argued, gesturing to his injured arm, with an exasperated look.
"It's nothing, it doesn't hurt." He looked at her harsh, purple eyes and recoiled slightly. "Okay, maybe it hurts a little bit."
Primrose groaned. "Maybe if you would have listened to me, it wouldn't hurt." She pulled a face at him.
"Maybe if you-"
"Guys!" Klaus stopped their arguing, and gestured to the ice cream truck behind him. The two adults looked to each other and walked around to the doors, opening them to only see two chairs in the front.
Klaus giggled and patted his brother and his friend on their shoulders, climbing round to the drivers seat. Diego climbed onto the passenger seat and patted his lap, Prim looked at him, unimpressed. "I hate you." She mumbled and sat on his lap, getting as comfortable as she could be in the awkward circumstances. "Klaus, drive."
The man slowly put the keys in the ignition and started the engine, just to spite them as they say awkwardly close to each other. "Klaus, drive!" Diego shouted and Prim held a hand to her ear, wincing as Klaus drove away, quickly.

As they were driving after the people in the suits, Klaus played the music from the van, under Prim's request and laughed as they drove. Luther and Five also seemed to be there as Klaus waved at them excitedly, taking his eyes away from the road. Primrose waved slightly too, though she wasn't sure if the boys could see her.
"Go faster." She urged her friend as Klaus returned two hands to the wheel, looking in front of him.
"Please don't say that when you're sat on my lap." Diego requested, sounding quite awkward as he shifted in his seat.
"Ew." Prim muttered, trying to stay as still as possible now.
Hazel and Cha-Cha took their guns out and started to shoot at the truck. Primrose made a purple glow out of her hands and it surrounded the whole truck with a little extra effort added into it, making her grunt as her hair started to turn a light shade of purple.
The truck drove straight into the car in front, belonging to the two people in the suits, the purple shield broke and disappeared due to the force of the crash. The three adults in the truck jerked forwards and grunted, the impact slightly worse for Diego due to the bullet lodged into his arm. Primrose's hair returned to her normal colour as she leaned back into Diego, who squeezed her waist, where his arms were held in order to keep her steady, as if to say either 'well done' or 'thank you.'
"Good god!" Klaus raised his voice as he recovered from the crash. Five had now disappeared as Luther looked around for him. "Oh! Ow!"
"Five!" Luther yelled. Hazel panted as he pushed himself off of the floor, the big man held up the briefcase that he was holding for some reason and shouted out to them. "Come get it!"
Primrose leaped off of Diego's lap, and helped him out of the truck as he grunted in pain. Klaus ushered them out of the vehicle as Luther chucked the case out onto the field, Cha-Cha running after it.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" Luther asked as he helped get Diego to the car he and Five came in. They all clambered in and closed the doors with a click behind them.
"Luther go, go!" Klaus yelled and looked out of the back window, to Hazel and Cha-Cha. Number One started to drive away and the man stuck his middle finger up at them as Primrose sighed at their getaway.

Once the siblings, plus Primrose, has arrived back at the academy, the strawberry-blonde practically dragged Diego upstairs by his ear, the man complaining all the way up there.
She dragged him to his childhood room and placed him down on his bed. He asked lots of questions but she didnt respond as she cautiously sat down next to him.
"Okay," she sighed. "Well, this is going to hurt."
"What do you-"
Primrose reached to the bullet wound with her face scrunched in disgust as she searched for the brass jacket. Diego yelled in pain and clenched his fists as she found the bullet and carefully took it out, placing it on the bed stand.
"Ow!" He shouted, throwing his head back in pain as he moved his hand to apply pressure to the wound, his eyes screwed shut.
"Hey, hey, hey." Prim slapped his hand away. "Forgetting that I can literally heal that in just a second? Now, you'll still probably going to have to wear a sling because it will still ache, but I'll fix it as much as possible." She soothes and slowly placed a hand on the bloody cut.
Diego winced, but watched with his eyes partially open as she closed her eyes and her hands created a purple shine from underneath them. He immediately felt his skin being pulled back together, and yes, it did hurt, it hurt very much, but the sight of her next to him calmed him a little bit. He was beginning to feel a little bit different towards Primrose in the times they'd spent together after Eudora, he thinks he knows what is it, but he doesn't want to do Patch wrong, even though she isn't with them anymore.
"There." Prim took her hand away and muttered a 'be right back', before leaving his room.
Diego watched as she left and removed his leather harness, pulling up his sleeve to see the scarred bit of his arm. He moved his arm slightly and groaned at the pain shooting up his arm, she did not lie. Her powers were unlike anything she had ever seen, they were amazing. She could save a lot of people with her shields.
"Sleeve back down, please." Primrose requested as she came back into the bedroom with a sling. Diego compiled and looked at her curiously as she still stood there. "Are you keeping your harness on or off?"
"On." He answered almost immediately and slipped it on quickly, buckling it up.
"Okay," she pursed her lips and approached him, putting the sling on his arm carefully. "There you go." Her lips stretched into a smile as she patted his arm in the sling. He grunted and she realised her mistake.
"Sorry, sorry!" She apologised, chuckling at the end of her apology. He sent her a look and the woman apologised once more, putting her hands out for him to take, he did so and pulled himself up.

After the chaotic last few days with the Hargreeves family, Primrose was ready to go home, this time she had Klaus back and the two of them were walking to her apartment. The woman kept glancing at the crestfallen look on her friends face and sighing.
She linked her arm around his and interlocked their hands as they turned a corner, one street closer to the pink apartment. "Just so you know, I won't ask you about what happened if you don't want me to. I'm just glad that you're okay."
"I'm glad I'm okay too, I've missed the pink, fluffiness of your house." Klaus sighed. "Can I sleep in the bed tonight?" He seemed a bit nervous asking this, as though he was worried she was going to say no.
"Of course you can."
In no time at all, the pair reached the apartment building and Primrose was slipping her key into the hole, bumping the door with her hip. It opened to reveal the bright apartment that she hadn't seen in days. A wave of nostalgia came over her and she instantly felt filled up by happiness whilst she glanced around at the many pictures frames of her family.
"Hey, I'm going to bed." Klaus said, walking off into her bedroom, with a wave. She heard him fall down onto the covers and smiled to herself when his snores echoed around the house not even 10 minutes later.
After a little bit of time spent sat on her sofa, just thinking, a tear escaping maybe once or twice as she remembered how she felt when Klaus went missing, she escaped to her bedroom herself, brushing her teeth and changing into her pink, stripy pyjamas first. Klaus was snuggled under the covers comfortably as his heavy breaths went into her left pillow.
She lifted the covers up and slipped under them without another thought, reaching over to switch the lamp off before she turned back around and fell to sleep, finally knowing that Klaus was back and safe.
