- Chapter One -
"Hargreeves?"
7 years later, Primrose was putting several flowers together in a bouquet for a lovely young blonde woman who was waiting at the cash register. The woman had a small little girl with her, presumably her daughter who had complimented her on her red hair, making her smile in glee.
"And that is 5 dollars, 99 cents." Prim smiled sweetly at the woman, putting the flowers in the bag and handing it to her. She received a ten dollar bill with the face of Alexander Hamilton on it. Hastily grabbing the change, she wished the woman and her daughter a nice day as they left the shop.
Primrose had been working at the florists since she was 20-years-old, at first it was just a part-time job until she figured out what she actually wanted to do, but since Pansy had always expressed her love for the shop, Prim stayed to honour her sisters memory. She kept on smiling to honour her parents and she bought a violet coloured car to honour her fiancé.
She had been sad and heartbroken for two full years after the accident, until she met a flamboyant looking man in the streets who convinced her to come party with him at the bar. Although it may have seemed like a bad idea, it was the best decision of her life. Turns out that the man would become her best and closest friend, Klaus Hargreeves, a former member of The Umbrella Academy who she grew up watching on the TV.
In time she revealed to him her powers that she had gained on the day of the explosions and he would constantly throw stuff at her to make her block it. After that he had told her all about his childhood trauma, including his ability to see the dead, he had even introduced her to Ben, even though she couldn't see him.
Klaus was an interesting person, yes he did drugs and was almost always either high or drunk, but he had a way with words and never failed to make her laugh. A couple of months ago, he sadly got caught with his drugs, it was either jail or rehab, so of course he chose rehab. This meant that for the time he had been away, Primrose had kept to herself, still greeting strangers as she passed them and giving money to the homeless, but never reaching out to make more friends.
The store phone rang and she quickly answered, not liking the ringtone one bit. It takes a lot of things to annoy her but that boring beeping is enough to make her want to smash it against a wall.
"Hello, this is 'Flo's Florists', what can I help you with today?" She asked the person on the other end of the line. Her boss was named Florence and was also the owner of the store, but right now she was at home, healing from a broken bone she had received just a couple of days ago.
"Rosie!" The familiar voice made her smile widen as her face lit up and she sunk down into the stool at the counter. "I'm out of rehab! Woohoo!" He cheered, laughing at the end and then sucking in a deep breath.
"That's awesome Klaus! You should come down to the store, I'll give you some flowers for managing in there." She offered, fixing a bent petal on one of the flowers sat in the glass vase. Once it was back to its original state, she smiled in content and brushed some dust off of the side of the vase.
He audibly winced before replying. "I'm actually gonna go get some of the goods so, I'll come to your apartment once you've closed up! See you later! Bye Rosie!" The line went dead before she could protest. There was only half an hour left of her shift, maybe she could catch him in the normal alleyway just a few blocks from her flat.

Somehow she ended up in an ambulance, resting her arms on her bouncing knees as the doctor tried to get Klaus to wake up. Whilst she was driving back from the store, her best friend was laying on the street, high out of his mind, making her call an ambulance for him.
Even though this had happened many times before, she was still incredibly worried, things can change and the unexpected can happen, which is why she normally doesn't let him black out, but she wasn't there today.
The doctor shocked him and he shot up with a large intake of breath. A big sigh of relief left her lips as she relaxed her bouncing legs. Klaus pulled the anaesthesia mask and coughed before laughing, looking up at his friend. They enveloped each other in a tight hug as the man shivered and patted her head fondly, muttering a little 'hi'.
His gaze was teared from her as he glanced at the small tv at the back of the ambulance and furrowed his eyebrows at the picture on the screen, his father.
"Moments ago, the police reported the death of the most eccentric and reclusive billionaire, Reginald Hargreaves."
Prims wide smile dropped as she looked at Klaus with so much sympathy in her eyes, his were wide with shock of what he and just heard. "Oh Klaus, I'm so sorry." She apologised, shaking her head. Of everybody in America, she thinks she holds the record for losing the most loved ones, so she knows how it feels.
Loud cheers and screams came from the mans mouth as he threw his hands up in the air and waved them about, singing a little song of: 'he's dead, he's dead, who's dead? Reggies dead'
She raised her eyebrows at him and he laughed at the look on her face, poking the space in between them. "I can't wait to stomp on his grave." He sighed dreamily, looking off into the distance. A gasp left his lips as he stared at his best friend with sad eyes and pouted. "Will you come with me?"
"You want me to?" She asked in surprise, receiving a lot of nods from him. "I don't know Klaus, this seems like a family thing." He took her hands in his, bringing them up to cup her cheeks.
"You are my family!" He exclaimed, letting go of her hands so it was just her cupping her own cheeks. "Also you get to meet my equally as damaged siblings, I feel like you'd be great friends with them. You'd be so nice to them and they'd just...be so, they'd just be so Hargreeves, to you and then you end up as friends!"
"Hargreeves?"
"Hargreeves." He confirmed, pouting again and smiling triumphantly when she broke out into a wide smile, her soft laughter echoing around the van.
"Fine! I'll come!"
"Yay. Now, let's go back to your humble abode."

Prim placed the key in the whole and turned it, bumping the door with her hip so it opened. Klaus immediately ran in and threw himself down on the sofa, smiling at the feeling of her incredibly soft cushions and blankets.
"You want a drink?" She asked him, walking to her little kitchen and taking out two glasses and the orange juice.
"Vodka." He replied, chuckling at the end of it.
"I don't have vodka, and you've already drank today." She replied sternly, pouring him a cup of orange juice before placing the carton back into the fridge. "You can have some orange juice."
"No I didn't. I was high today...oh thank you." He took the glass from her hands and sipped it, shuffling over so she could sit next to him. "Nothing like a good fruit drink to get the head relaxing am I right?"
"So...when do you want to go back?"
"Tomorrow. Luthers probably already there, he was always daddy's boy. Diego might be already there too, wanting to spite Luther or try to figure out who killed dad or some hero shit like that." He told her. "But us, the best humans in existence, we can wait. Rosie, I'm telling you, we can wait."
"We can wait." She agreed, watching as he pulled out a cigarette. Pointing to the window, she raised her eyebrows as a warning and he rolled his eyes, getting up and cracking open the large window.
"Ben says that he respects you for making me do it out the window." He huffed before hissing at a place on the couch, probably where Ben was sat.
"Thank you Ben." She replied, looking at the empty space next to her. "You need some sleep, Klaus."
"So do you. You look horrible, ghastly even." He shuddered, once again looking at the space next to her with a bored expression. "You like her."
"What?" Prim asked him, grabbing the empty glasses and moving them into the kitchen, quickly washing, drying and then putting them away.
"Nothing." Klaus smirked. "Have I ever told you that I love how pink your apartment is?" He asked, running his finger over the back of the light couch.
"Multiple times actually." She laughed, snatching the cigarette out of his mouth and stubbing it on the bricks outside of her window before throwing it down to the ground. "Sleep."
"Ok, mom."
"Tomorrow, I'll drive us to the academy and you will be up at 11am, ok?" She checked with him, watching as he grabbed the softest blanket he could find and threw himself back down on the sofa.
"Yes yes. Ok whatever. Be prepared for my crazy family." He chuckled. "Although it might be slightly less crazy now that dads gone, or maybe Luther has finally reached his peak and gone mad."
"Maybe the moon drove him to insanity." She joked, locking the alcohol cabinet just in case he tried to get in there.
"Hey! You're supposed to be the nice one." He accused, snuggling down into the pillows.
"Well, not to your siblings if they actually treated you the way they did."
"You're a great friend." He mumbled, almost asleep already. Then his soft snores filled the room and he fidgeted a bit before getting comfortable.
"You too Klaus, you too." She smiled fondly and switched the light off, retreating to her bedroom and climbing under her covers once she was in her pyjamas which consisted of a plain site baggy t-shirt and some pink pyjama pants.
