- Chapter Fourteen -
"I'm coming with you."
Wednesday 8:15am
Three days?" Allison asked, Luther had just told all of the siblings, apart from Five and Vanya,, about the world ending in forever in a burning apocalypse. Primrose was sat on one of the sofas, biting at her nails slightly as the siblings asked their questions.
"That's what Five said." Luther sighed, taking a cup of coffee that Allison had bought from her. He glanced over to Prim who was staring at the floor, zoned out for a second. "Primrose?" He asked uncertainly and she snapped out of her trance, looking up at him.
"Yeah, sorry." She chuckled, smiling warmly as Diego eyed her warily, his arm still in the sling that she had put on him last night. "Continue."
"The old bastard did mention the apocalypse, come to think of it." Klaus sat up against the sofa his friend was on, his own coffee in his hand. Allison made her way over to the strawberry-blonde and handed her one, which she took gratefully with a small toothy grin." He just forgot to mention how soon."
"But can we trust him?" Allison put a hand on the bar now that the adults al had their coffee. "I don't know if you've noticed but Five's a little.." She whistled as she twirled a finger around in the air at the side of her head.
"Our little psycho." Klaus chuckled, looking up at Prim as he remembered when they had to act as his parents for a day. Primrose laughed lightly and nudged him with her foot, the two sharing a smile.
"He was pretty convincing." Luther nodded to himself, avoiding the part about how everybody except for Primrose dies, which he hoped that the woman herself wouldn't bring it up. "If he wasn't trying to stop an apocalypse, those lunatics wouldn't be chasing him."
"That's why they were after him?" Diego asked from the sofa opposite Primrose.
"Yeah."
"What did Five even see?" Allison asked and Luther looked at Prim, who looked away and bit her lip cautiously. She heard the man let out an aggravated sigh as he realized he would have to tell them his self.
"Uh...apparently, we all fought together against whoever was responsible." He finished there and the strawberry-blonde looked back at him, raising her eyebrows with a small, reassuring smile that didn't really reassure him. The rest of the siblings glanced between the two expectantly, not missing the exchange like Luther had hoped that they had.
After another moment of silence, Luther stood up from the bar stool he was sat on and clicked his tongue. "Okay, here's the plan." He began and Prim cleared her throat, putting all of her attention on him, trying to make the others do the same. "We go through dads research-"
"Wait, what?" Allison also stepped away from the bar, Prim took a deep breath and sank back in her seat slightly.
"Hold on, hold on." Diego held up a hand to his brother and then to the woman on the sofa.
"Wait a tick, wait a tick, wait a tick." Klaus held up a finger as they all stopped their brother from continuing on. Luther once again looked at Prim with pleading eyes and she smiled awkwardly. "Wat actually happened the first time around?" Klaus asked his brother, glancing to his friend. "And what aren't you telling me?"
"Yeah, what are you not tellin' us?" Diego pointed his question to Prim, who sucked in a breath whilst looking away from his eyes, not wanting to tell them.
"Luther?" She looked at him as everyone else did too.
"Are you kidding me?" He pleaded and she shrugged innocently, bringing her coffee cup up to her mouth. He took a moment and looked down to is coffee. "We died." He sighed through a mumble, sipping from his cup.
"What was that?" Allison asked, not sure whether she heard him correctly.
The man coughed and looked back up to them all. "I said, uh, we died." There was another moment of silence as everyone processed the news before he spoke again. "But Prim didn't, she didn't die. That's...good." He smiled nervously as everyone looked at her.
One of the umbrellas shot out of the stand and opened, revealing the words ' the umbrella academy' like it was mocking them as Klaus screamed in surprise.

The group was now huddled around the bar as everybody had questions for the two. "No, we need to figure this out." Diego ordered. "Is it just us?" He asked, sipping on his hot drink.
"It's everybody." Luther said, then glanced to Primrose. "Except for her, are you immortal by any chance?" He asked and she furrowed her eyebrows at him.
"No." She replied and Diego rolled his eyes. "She can make shields and forcefields, dipshit." He said to his brother. "Anyway, everybody on this house?" He asked again.
"No, outside the house, everyone died." Luther tried to tell them, once again he looked to the strawberry-blonde. "Except for Primrose."
"Okay," She sighed in annoyance. "I think we've established that I'm going to survive." She rubbed her forehead with a huff, picking up her coffee, but seeing that there wads nothing left. Diego noticed her struggle and pushed his own drink over to her. She took it gratefully with a smile and then they continued to share the hot beverage.
"Hey." A voice said from behind them and they all looked to the entrance hall and saw Vanya, with some random man behind her. She looked happy, and that was all it took to make Primrose smile. "What's going on?" The man behind her looked at Primrose, and is eyes went noticeably wide but he cleared his throat quietly and regained himself, he looked like some sort of crazy fan that would wait outside the lab all day to get a chance to talk to the Armitage scientists.
That's when it hit her. "Leonard?" Primrose squinted her eyes at him. He smiled to himself but then acted surprised as he looked at her.
"Prim? Its been so long." He laughed and they both embraced each other in a hug once Prim came around from the bar. Leonard once bought a bouquet from the shop and they had had quite a long conversation about stuff, he seemed very interested in her life, which she thought was quite sweet.
The two turned back to the rest of the siblings when Allison spoke. "It's a family matter." She said.
"A family matter." Vanya repeated, shocked but not surprised. "So, you couldn't bother to include me, but her? A girl most of you have only known for a week?" She said incredulously pointing to Primrose as Leonard returned to her side. "Now Prim has done nothing wrong, at all, in fact she was the only one nice to me. But you guys? Letting her be in family discussions?"
"No, it's not like that, we were-"
"Don't let me interrupt." She started to walk away and Allison called after her, coffee in hand as she promised to tell her everything later. "Please, please don't bother. And I won't either."
"Vanya, that's not fair." Allison started, warily glancing up at Leonard.
"Fair? There's nothing fair about being your sister. I have been left out of everything for as long as I can remember. And I used to think it was dads fault, but he's dead, so it turns out your the assholes." She said to everyone except for Leonard and cast an apologetic glance at Primrose before she swept out of the room.
"Ouch." Klaus sighed.
"I'm gonna go find Vanya and explain." Allison said, putting her coffee down on the bar since she was finished.
"No, wait, there isn't time." Luther stopped her. "We need to figure out what causes the apocalypse." The door closes, signaling the leave of Vanya and Leonard. "Now, there are loads of possibilities. Nuclear war, asteroids. Primrose-"
"Me?"
"But I'm thinking this is about the moon, right?" Luther continued, disregarding Primrose's queries. "Dad must've sent me up there for a reason, and I was giving him daily updates on the conditions, I sent field samples." Primrose looked to Diego with her eyebrows raised but he just rolled his eyes. "The first thing we need to do is find his research."
"Hold on. Hold the phone." Klaus slammed his hand down on the bar. "We all died fighting this thing the first time around. Remember?" He said to Luther.
"Klaus, shockingly, has a point." Diego said, playing with one of his knives as Primrose frowned at him about his comment on Klaus. "What gives us a win this time?"
"Five, last time we didn't have him, and now we know that Primrose survived, we can get her to protect us all with those weird purple thingies, y'know?" Luther said, pointing to her.
"What makes you think I didn't try the first time?" She replied, offended that her other self would've just let them all die with trying to do anything. The man shrugged and looked away as she made a face at him.
"This time, we'll have the full force of the umbrella academy and Primrose. That's all we need." He said and glanced around at his siblings, furrowing his eyebrows at Diego, who was staring at Primrose, who was staring at Klaus as he gagged and groaned, making his way over to one of the sofas. When her gaze returned back to Luther, the man with knives looked away, a very rare flush on his cheeks as though he had just been hit with a sudden realization.
"Well, where's Five now?" Allison asked, stepping forwards.
"He had a plan to change the timeline, he'll be back soon." Luther told them all after looking away from his brother, who didn't seem to be listening anymore. He was just staring into space with a small, shocked, smirk on his face. He quickly snapped out of it and looked at Primrose once more before shaking his head.
"I'm going after Hazel and Cha-Cha." He announced, walking away from the bar. The strawberry-blonde woman rose from her seat too.
"I'm coming with you."
He stopped in his tracks and turned to face her, shaking a finger. "No, you're not." He decided and she tilted her head at him in annoyance, crossing her arms.
"Seriously? Do I need to remind you of your arm?" She gestured to his sling, to which he looked down at before looking back up at her, hesitating for a moment before giving in to those perfect brown eyes that he had found himself staring at more often than needed.
"Fine, let's go." He tore his eyes away. Klaus looked at his brother and saw a small flush on his cheeks and he smiled to himself, it was only a matter of time and he had been watching the sexual tension ever since they met. It certainly did take them a while to start blushing around each other, though, he thought that they would've gotten together by now, but obviously not.
"What, right now?" Luther asked as the two began to exit the living room.
"Hell yeah." Diego smirked, looking back at Prim to check that she was ready. "Three days, we're losing light by the minute."
"Wait, guys, look. I know you wanna avenge your friend, but we got bigger problems going on here." He tried to stop them and Diego whirled around in his brothers face, glaring up at him with distaste.
"She wasn't just a friend, Luther." He seethed and Primrose felt her stomach jolt, the last time she had felt this was when she found out that Violet had a boyfriend when the two women first met. That boy was long forgotten about a week later, Violet having her sexuality realized and all. She cleared her throat quietly and shook it off, it was a rare feeling. "If I'm gonna die, I need to know that I've killed those bastards first."
Klaus hunching over in his chair, probably taking to Ben as his mouth moved, made Primrose's attention swap from the arguing men to her friend as she watched in concern. Diego storming out snapped her from her trance and she followed, knowing that they both wanted the same thing, to get revenge on Hazel and Cha-Cha.
The two retreated to Diego's childhood room where he was getting equipped to go after Hazel and Cha-Cha. They sat in silence as Primrose huffed to herself, would this actually make her feel any better? Of course it would, they tortured Klaus and killed Eudora, why wouldn't it make her feel better? Then again, she's be taking somebody's life away from them.
Her thoughts were put on hold when a feeble 'hey' came from the doorway and there stood Klaus, Diego's foot was on a chair as he tried to tie his shoelace. Prim internally cursed herself for not seeing his struggle and helping the man. "Hey. You, uh...you mind?" Diego asked, gesturing to his untied shoe.
"You could've just asked me." Primrose told him, walking closer.
"I didn't want to interrupt your brooding." He smiled at her, once again, he caught himself staring at those brown eyes and she caught herself staring right back. Diego pulled the eye contact away when Klaus replied to his question.
"Oh yeah, sure, sure. I'll tie...I'll tie that up. " He sighed. "If you tie me up after." A rope that was around his arms, was thrown to Diego, who caught it and looked up to his brother questionably.
"Come again?" Diego raised an eyebrow.
"You know, last time I was sober was that roaring good time when those freaks had me tied up in the motel room." He was practically shaking now and Prim looked at him sorrowfully.
"Wow. You are one twisted bonehead." Diego said and Primrose smacked him on his non-injured arm lightly.
"Why? You two are the ones who're always like 'Klaus, it's time to get sober bro,'" He chuckled sickly.
"There's better ways to get clean, bro." Diego told him.
"Since when do I call you bro?" Primrose asked, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion as she glanced between the two.
"Never, really and there's no better way for me, no." Klaus said and Prim could feel her eyes stinging as she watched him like that. Sweat dripping down his face whilst his whole body trembled.
"I need someone to take away my options." He continued and lowered his still shaking arms. Prim couldn't take it anymore and launched forward, enveloping him in a hug, crying silently into his shoulder. He slowly wrapped an arm around her whilst Diego watched with sad eyes. "Oh, this is nice." Klaus sighed, putting his head on Primrose's as she held him tightly. The man with the knives now saw what love meant and knew that no matter how much he had said that she loved Eudora, it didn't seem to be the same compared to the love that his brother and Primrose had for each other.
He wanted to love someone like that, and deep down, he knew he was on his way as he watched the strawberry-blonde embrace Klaus.
