DONOVAN WAS WATCHING THE WHOLE TIME OVER HIM. Even if he could hear his steady heartbeat, just like his soft breaths, he was afraid to close his eyes. What if he will wake up and his angel would have stopped to breath? Stopped to live? His heart cramped only by the thought. He wouldn't be able to survive it. Protective, he kissed his forehead, holding his hand, gently squeezing it.
Somehow, Donovan wondered himself, if Bleiz has heard him. He could slap himself for this. Even if it was true. The feelings for Bleiz were deep, deeper than everything else, he has felt before. Far more than the feelings he used to have for the Countess even. But oh, how his heart has been broken the moment, she has pushed him away. The moment, he realized, he was nothing more than one of her pretty, little toys she had.
A soft sob escaped him, causing him to blink a little. What if Bleiz also simply played with him? His blue eyes wandered above the sleeping face of the smaller man. No, he wasn't. Bleiz was so innocent, so pure. Nobody, Donovan has met, was so pure and innocent like him. And he wanted to protect him, with all what it would cost.
Slowly, Bleiz started to move, causing the immortal to smile. Especially, when his eyes started to flicker and blinked several times. His brown eyes went open, a light smile on his face, as he looked up to Donovan.
"I love you too", the wolf-boy answered, laying his free hand on his cold cheek, caressing gently his pale, cold skin. "You can't imagine, how much I love you", he added with a slight smile, lifting his upper body a bit up. Carefully, he pulled Donovan a bit closer, looking deeply in his blue eyes.
It felt for the vampire, like his breath was taken away, just like his words. Bleiz' words hit a spot in his body, from which he thought, it has died a long time ago. His loving, sweet touch made him close his eyes, leaning into his warm hand, pressing a light kiss on his palm. It felt too good to be true. "I'm scared, that I will wake up and everything is just a dream", he breathed, feeling like a lovesick teenager, even if he has never been one.
"If this is a dream, I don't want to wake up either", Bleiz admitted with a smile, letting his hand sink. Gently, he grabbed the collar on his shirt, pulling him down to his lips. There was no rush, while they were kissing. Only the hunger of the touch made each other to deepen the kiss. Wild and loud, Bleiz' heart beat against his chest, his tongue licking gently above the lower lip of Donovan. Still, he held his hand, squeezing it lightly, while his other hand rested in his neck.
A soft moan escaped Donovan, his mouth formed to a smile. His tongue stroked softly above Bleiz' lip as well, enjoying the sweetness of his lips. A bit, he tugged with his teeth on his soft flesh, sucking lightly on it. He had no idea, if Bleiz liked this, so he didn't want to go fast on him. Just gentle, loving playing. His free hand was laying on his hip, massaging with his thumb the sensitive skin of him. French-kissing wasn't new for Donovan. But somehow it felt new with Bleiz. More real and loving.
Bleiz blushed slightly, as he heard this sweet sound of Donovan. Surprised, he gasped, feeling Donovan's mouth on his lower lip, but let him continue it. Still, it felt a bit weird, on the other hand, it felt amazing. Like he wasn't down on earth, but in his own kind of paradise. With only Donovan and himself. They weren't laying on a bed. They were laying on the cool ground of a snow-covered forest. He pulled Donovan closer, licking above lower lip, carefully tasting his cold, yet so sweet lips.
Slight chuckles escaped Bleiz, while Donovan continued to kiss him like that. His breath tickled him sometimes, causing him to giggle in the kiss, what made the immortal smirk a bit. "Bleiz", the vampire moaned softly against his lips, gently parting his soft, warm lips. He loved, how good they felt. He shoved gently his tongue inside, his body started to shake a little, out of excitement. Oh, how Donovan wished, he would be warm for him and not giving Bleiz the feeling, he was making out with a dead man.
But he had to admit, that he felt alive. Even more than before. Even better than the times, he was simply high of his drugs. His heroine, his demons. Bleiz was better than drugs. "I love you", he whispered in the kiss, brushing with his breath above the sweet mouth. The corners of his mouth were twitching, as he heard Bleiz whispering back: "I love you too."
Again, Donovan kissed him. With more eager and a bit more lust. He wanted him badly. There was something, this young man had, which made him want to protect him, but also slamming him hard in the mattress. The immortal didn't know where these needs came from. Somehow, he felt like these were old instincts, which have just been awoken.
"Donovan, no ... please", he suddenly heard the tiny whisper of Bleiz, so he quickly pulled away from the kiss. "What have I done?", he wanted to know immediately, feeling how his heart sank. If he has hurt him, Donovan would never forgive himself. Did he maybe squeezed his skin too much, so he had now a blue spot? Or did he even bit his lip, until blood was coming out? With panic widened eyes, the immortal studied the handsome, young man underneath him. Good, he wasn't bleeding.
"My leg. I just ... I think it wouldn't be very comfortable, if we continue and I can't really move my injured leg", Bleiz explained with a blush, stroking through his hair. His brown eyes were wandering above the most beautiful creature he has ever encountered. Somehow, he asked himself, if Donovan have gone further. Would he have really taken him, if he hasn't said anything? But maybe because the immortal couldn't feel this kind of pain, or could he? He tilted his head, a slight blush on his face.
At some point, Donovan was relieved. Well, it seemed like he hasn't done anything wrong yet. But seeing this suspicious look on Bleiz' face ... He raised an eyebrow, coming his pretty face closer. "What's the matter, pup?", the immortal asked quietly, brushing with his lips over his forehead. The heartbeat of the smaller one was louder than usual, his dark eyes trying to look anywhere, but him.
"Would you have gone further, if I haven't said anything? I mean, I wouldn't blame you, since you wouldn't have known how I feel, but I was just wondering", Bleiz whispered, still trying to avoid the gaze of him. Maybe it wasn't so clever to say anything at all. He was scared, that he has pushed him away. But a slight squeeze on his hand, made him look up in surprise, meeting the sparkling blue eyes of Donovan.
"No. Even if you haven't had say anything, I would have noticed that you don't feel comfortable by the way your body would've reacted. I can feel the smallest cramp, the speed of your heartbeat, even when someone sweats, I can tell." Gently, he caressed his hand, still smiling a bit. "You're the first one, I feel so vulnerable with. Who drowns me in emotions, which used to be dead", Donovan admitted, cupping his cheek with the other hand. "I would never forgive myself, if I hurt you, pup." He kissed lightly his forehead, smiling a bit. His words had a true, deep meaning. For his mate, he would do everything. Even murder or just hiding the body. Nothing was too much in his eyes. Everything, which would promise and guarantee safety and protection for Bleiz.
"This is very kind and gentle of you, Donovan. You're a good boyfriend", Bleiz answered with a slight smile, wiggling his hand free of his grip. He wrapped both arms around him, pulling him closer in a tight hug. Again, his face was covered with a red shimmer, so he hid it in the crook of his neck, smiling a bit. Boyfriend? Were they a couple now? Well, they've already confessed, they love each other, and they were already far more than just a regular couple. Soulmates. There wasn't a deeper bound on this earth. Maybe not even in this universe. Maybe, he would tell Donovan about everything, when the time came by. But right now, Bleiz simply wanted to enjoy this hug, pressing him closer.
"Hush, pup. That's why I'm your boyfriend and not a strange lover, or a fuck buddie", whispered and kissed his forehead again. "Because I love and respect you. Your body is your holy shell and I wouldn't break it, until you want me to." Normally, Donovan hated to make promises. Nobody could ever say, if they could be hold by the end of the day. With Bleiz, it was different. Well, almost everything seemed to be different with him.
"Thanks, Babe. But what about you? Have your former lovers treated you with the same respect, or why are you so carefully?", he wanted to know, focusing his face, after he has pulled a bit away from him. Bleiz only had to make one single look, to find his answer. Maybe that's why he was so careful and protective with him. Because Donovan got never this kind of affection, he was showing him, how he would've wanted to be threaten like. With ... kindness.
The corners of his mouth were twitching sadly, so he decided to cuddle against him. His face was buried against his chest, wrapping both arms tightly around him. "I am sorry, Donny", he muffled, looking a bit up to him. Bleiz' brown eyes were sparkling a bit, reflecting his deep, pure feelings for him.
Donovan blinked a little, stroking through his fluffy, brown hair. "It's alright, pup", he whispered and patted his back with the other hand. "I was never really used to affection, but I also haven't ever given it really to my former partners." He has pressed a light kiss on his forehead, before he let go of him and studied his gorgeous being. But his eyes stopped at the soft face of his loved one, admiring the slight blush and pink lips, which were curled up to a little smile. His gaze wandered down his body, to his leg, frowning a little. "You haven't told me, what has happened", he muttered, raising an eyebrow. Carefully, Donovan brushed above his thigh, watching out to not touch his wound.
"An animal has attacked me", Bleiz answered. Well, it wasn't really a lie. But it wasn't really the truth either. Something in his heart broke a little, so he didn't dare to look Donovan in the eyes, but at the mattress. He has always hated it, to lie. And he still did. Especially to someone, who deserved the world, someone who he didn't want to hurt at all.
"Must've been a huge animal", Donovan muttered, raising an eyebrow. There was something wrong and alone this little knowledge that Bleiz was lying to him, hurt. "Maybe as huge as your lie", he added quietly. It took him his full strength, to keep himself together. After what the Countess, and so many others have done to him, he hated lies more than almost everything else.
Bleiz bit on his lower lip. He has known, it wouldn't be easy to lie to his soulmate. And that he would be terrible with that. Well, it seemed like Donovan had some senses for this. "It's the truth, Donovan. But ... Look. I'm dealing with some stuff, I can't control at the moment and don't really understand what's happening", he whispered, looking slowly up in his eyes again. As he looked right into these broken, sad, blue eyes, his gut of guilt tightened a little, making his throat dry.
"Are you taking drugs?" Maybe it was an insane thought. Someone like Bleiz wouldn't take drugs. But what if he went through a rough time and tried to escape the reality? And the animal was only an illusion when in fact somebody else – he would kill them – has hurt him? He leaned a bit forward, looking deeply into his eyes, which were now wide in shock. "I won't judge you. I've taken everything I found, until an overdose of Heroine has killed me in this damn hotel", Donovan whispered, caressing his cheek with his thumb.
Quickly, Bleiz shook his head. "No. I've never done anything which had to do with drugs. But I'm sorry to hear that about you". Gently, he caressed his right side, stroking above the silk of his shirt. "I will tell you sooner or later, okay?", he whispered, kissing his cheek. "I just don't want to lose you". His brown eyes sparked a bit, as Donovan kissed gently his forehead, wrapping an arm around him.
"You won't lose me, pup. I promise. But now I must leave you for a while, because I'm hungry as well", Donovan muttered, ruffling through his hair once again. Of course, he hasn't had blood for a while, the smell of Bleiz' open wound didn't make it better either. To be honest, there was something else. He needed to clear his minds, thinking for a while. It hurt him, that Bleiz didn't trust him, on the other hand, he could understand him. Donovan could feel somehow the worries, the younger one was carrying, even if he had no idea, why he had the insane idea, that he would ever reject him. Alone the time, his loved one has been gone for not even three hours has felt almost painful. It felt like a part of his heart has left as soon, as Bleiz has been walking out of the room. So, he would also need to hurry.
The wolf-boy nodded, pulling Donovan down to a loving kiss. "Please be careful. I will cry, if you get hurt", he said with a slight smirk, but meant every word serious. He would crash down, if anything happened to Donovan. Even if he was one of the most dangerous creatures in this world. Deeply, he snuggled with his nose against his shoulder, inhaling his wonderful, sweet scent, before he would go. It calmed him down. His fragrance made him feel safe, happy and light. That everything was fine, as long as he had it around him.
"Don't worry. I will soon come back, I promise, pup." Donovan smiled a bit, about how worried Bleiz was. Indeed, a cute thing. Gently, he stroked above his back, enjoying his closeness. It felt so good, to hold him in his arms. The only place, from where he was able to protect him with everything he had. To safe him from this cruel world, far too cruel for Bleiz.
"Okay. Now better go, before you'll change your mind", he whispered with a smile and caressed his back for some seconds. Then, he slowly let go off him, tilting his head to the side. "I bet, Liz will take care of me", he whispered, winking a bit.
"Of course, I will. I will take care for this boy like he is my own son." Suddenly, Liz walked in the room, smiling brightly. She held a tablet with several kinds of food, including toasts, eggs and even sweet, chocolate croissants.
A soft chuckle escaped Donovan. "Thank you, Liz. It means a lot to me." He smiled, pressing a light kiss on Bleiz' forehead and slowly stood up. Slowly, he walked towards her. "Don't let him out of his eyes, until I'm back. Please", the immortal whispered in her ear, looking straight into her eyes. "Especially when Elizabeth is walking around in the halls. And if you have to handcuff him on the bed, don't let him alone." Donovan gave Bleiz a last look, smiling a little. Well, he didn't know, that his sweet loved one has heard every single word of him. Wolf-ears were practical. But Bleiz just smiled back, waited until his loved one left the room.
Liz wished, she could have said Donovan something. Like Bleiz could protect himself very well, because he was in fact a giant wolf. She couldn't say anything. All she did, was to nod. Sooner or later, the wolf-boy would tell him the truth. At least, Liz hoped it. Donovan deserved it and Bleiz needed this to get it of his chest. "So, you're some kind of werewolf?", she asked him, putting the tablet on his lap.
For some seconds, Bleiz was quiet, just taking one of the toasts in his hand and took a bite of it. "No. I'm a shape-shifter. A werewolf can only transform during full-moon. He's walking on two legs, broad shoulders, taller and stronger than everything you know. I guess, even stronger than Elizabeth, or better said – the Countess", he answered, meeting her eyes with his'.
Surprised, Liz raised an eyebrow. "So, werewolves do exist??" Not that she was surprised. She was literally surrounded by vampires, demons and ghosts. So why shouldn't there be werewolves as well? Or even other creatures of the night, like ghouls and dark fairies?
"You've seen my scars above my heart. They were from a werewolf. I barely survived", he answered calmly, eating his breakfast, like it was just a regular subject to talk about. "But yeah, there are also some other creatures, you don't really want to meet. Saying this hotel is evil, isn't totally right. There are darker things outside. Monsters, who eat dead bodies, wicked women, who try to trick a man's heart, creatures, who aren't even from our planet. Mutants, which were created to kill and eat the living." His face darkened, and a shadow laid underneath his eyes, his cheekbones defined and sharp.
"But as far as I've experienced, are the innocent-looking the worst monsters. Those, who are looking like a regular human are those, who will cut your heart out, if you pay one second no attention. Be careful, Liz. Especially with this Countess."
His voice was calm, but for Liz, it felt like the temperature of this room has just dropped. A cold shiver running down her spine. Somehow, the woman had the feeling that the worst things haven't even started yet.
