Chapter 15: He Loved Her

While Chan and Changbin were off to find the to-be married couple, Sihyeon sat in another secluded corner of the beach, watching how the sun dipped into the blue waves across the sea. The sky was gorgeous saffron; the yellowness of the previous scene somewhat dissolved into the horizon. However, the picturesqueness of the natural beauty did not attract her, because her knees hugged her chest, and her head was buried in her knees as she cried endlessly.

She had messed up badly. Would Jisung leave her, now? Would he even marry her?

Only her sobs could be heard amidst the waves crashing onto the shore, and she wept as silently as she could. However, a voice made her flinch, "Sihyeon."

She wiped her tears off with the back of her hands and looked up. The backdrop of the setting sun glorified his frame as the gentle breeze ruffled his hair slightly, and she whimpered his name, "Jisung..."

Jisung wordlessly gave her a hand to stand up, and she gladly took it, grasping onto it as if her life depended on it. She stood up, and he did not dare to leave her hand.

"I'm so sorry, Jisung-"

"No. I am sorry," he solemnly spoke, "I am sorry for being selfish enough to not even hear your part of the story. I should have listened to you and why you took that decision."

"It's not..." Sihyeon sniffled, tears still spilling out. Upon looking at his face, she knew that he had cried a lot, too. Trails of dried tears were still visible on his cheeks.

"When I had almost lost you for the first time -- back when Felix and I had messed up," Jisung began, "I had known that I made you cry. And back then, I had promised myself that I would never, ever make you cry. And..." his voice cracked, and he looked down at the sand, "I made you cry. I'm so sorry that I made you cry, Sihyeon."

"It's not your fault, Jisung. I should have asked you about it. We should have made a decision together," Sihyeon cried along with him, her hold on his hand tightening.

Jisung looked at her again, and, with his free hand, he wiped off her tears, muttering, "Now, now, we don't need to think about that ever again. What's done is done. We cannot change it no matter how much we cry or fight over it."

"I just..." she sobbed freely, "I thought you would leave me..."

Jisung chuckled through his tears, a stray tear still slipping past, "You're so stupid, babe. Why would I ever leave you?" his free hand cupped her face, "You're my everything, Sihyeon. I can never afford to lose you."

"I'm sorry for not trusting our relationship as much," she inhaled and exhaled deeply, "I love you, Jisung. Please..." she looked down at their locked hand, "Please don't leave my hand ever again."

Jisung grasped her other hand as well, and their hold tightened, "Never."

A small smile broke out through the tears on Sihyeon's face, and Jisung placed a chaste kiss on her lips, "Now smile for me?"

Sihyeon stretched her lips, and he placed another kiss, "A truer one?"

"I'm smiling," she said, stretching her lips more, and he chuckled, placing another kiss, "A bigger one."

And when she giggled, revealing an actual, big grin, Jisung finally felt relief; finally, he felt that it was all going to be okay, that nothing had gone wrong, and that they were back to their normal, loving, forgiving selves. He had dreaded the past few hours so, so much, because he had instantly regretted bursting out at her and not having given her a chance to speak.

And then he had realized: he needed her more than her ownership of her mistake. He loved her

So, he had come back running to the spot where he had left her, and his heart had sunk; he had really hurt her. Ever since then, he had been running around, trying to find her before someone else did.

Now that her hands were in his, he felt comfortable and at peace; like a warm cup of tea by the bonfire after a cold day at work. It was how she made him feel, and how he made her feel. And it was simply perfect.

"JISUNG! SIHYEON!" Chan yelled from a distance, and Changbin panted behind him, having run miles and miles to find them.

"Oh, shit," Jisung and Sihyeon said in unison, and then looked at each other and laughed lowly. Changbin and Chan approached them tiredly, and Sihyeon spoke, "Okayyy, we're sorry!"

"What were you guys doing for the past six hours?! We tried to find you everywhere!" Changbin asked, heavily breathing but exclaiming nonetheless.

"Well..." Jisung spoke, and looked at her lovingly, and then continued, "Nothing, really."

"Nothing?!"

"Yeah," the couple giggled.

Chan sighed, "At least you are safe."

(a/n: okay but the song made me feel some type of way, so i apologize for the cheesiness (if you think it was cheesy lmao)

ALSO, I have gone on a diet which includes like absolutely no fried food, no rice, no wheat, and NO sugar. Basically 80 percent of my diet has been included in the list lmaoooo

Like I'm literally putting coffee in milk without any sugar and drinking it, and my sis goes like "Since you aren't consuming any sugar, this book should rather be called Bitter Sweet instead of Sugar Sweet" and I'm like :"))
