Chapter 1: Missing The Past

"Felix, how is Amy doing?"

"Oh, Amy?" Felix replied, beaming, "She's doing great! Although she stays stressed these days, you know, thanks to her studies, she manages to stay sane somehow."

"I heard she's in the final year of her medical degree?" Changbin asked, and Felix nodded, saying, "Yeah! She's gonna be a professional pediatrician soon!"

"That's so cool," Jeongin remarked, "I never thought one of us would actually be dating a doctor. That sounds, like, too intellectual."

"Um, excuse me?" Seungmin was offended, "I might not be dating anyone, but I am intellectual."

"Oh, and the sea walrus is also dating a poet!" Jisung spoke up.

"YAH!" Changbin protested, "Shut up!"

"I was trying to appreciate you and Miyeon, bro," Jisung replied casually.

"Like THIS?"

"Oof."

"Yeah, Changbin," Chan asked, "How's Miyeon?"

"She's penning down her third compilation of poetry. Ever since her last book was released, it feels like the pressure on her to write something better than it just built up. She's barely eating or drinking anything," Changbin sighed, "I keep telling her to take care of herself but she's really stressed."

"That's rough," Minho spoke, "But I think she writes really well. At one point, we were all considering her to co-write lyrics with us, remember?"

"Yeah! She just doesn't appreciate herself enough," Changbin frowned.

"Just make her talk to Jiwon. She cheers up people well," Felix remarked.

"That's what I'll do, then," Changbin nodded in understanding.

"Hey, Chan!" Hyunjin spoke up, "I heard Lily and Ryan were missing me?"

"They miss all of you," Chan spoke, "And so do I..."

Minho uncomfortably sighed, "And it gets lonely at home for me, too. Yiren is on tour lately, and we only get to talk through video calls."

"She's a solo artist, it's harder for her," Seungmin said, "But I think the tour's gonna end soon? I heard it somewhere."

"I told you."

"Oh, yeah."

"Guys, let's not lament over missing each other," Felix tried to brighten up the melancholic atmosphere, "We all practically live in the same neighborhood."

"But it's not the same as living together, you know?" Hyunjin exhaled, "Jeongin, Seungmin, and I get lonely in this big house."

"Sihyeon and I were discussing about moving back into the dorm," Jisung chuckled, "That won't be practical, but at this point, I think all of us miss each other."

"It was all so easy five years ago," Chan nostalgically sighed, "We knew that JYP would handle everything. Now, he's retiring soon, and even though he'll still be the CEO, things wouldn't be the same."

"It was about time he retired," Minho spat, and everyone turned to look at him, "What? Have you seen him? He makes weird music with eccentric lyrics. I'm surprised it took him so much time."

Jisung looked at his phone, and there were a few messages from Sihyeon:

Sihyeon
Hey babe
There's this photoshoot I have to do for idols for my new portfolio
Can you like
Convince the boys to do a photoshoot with me?
Please?

"Hey," Jisung spoke up, "You remember how I told you about Sihyeon making a new portfolio for her photography thingy?"

"...No?" Changbin said.

"Oh, I didn't? Okay, she is. And she wants our help."

"What do we have to do?" Chan asked, sitting straight.

"A photoshoot? She'd be clicking the pictures, obviously. We just gotta pose and-"

"Jisung, we know how a photoshoot works," Jeongin deadpanned, and Jisung nervously laughed, "Okay, so do I tell her that we're in?"

"Of course!"

As Jisung texted her, Chan received a picture from Aisha. It had her recent art piece being ruined by Ryan and Lily; the two troublemakers had their hand prints pasted in the center of the painting, and now, amidst the bright colors that she had painted, there were small, black handprints decorating it. And she had captioned it with a simple sentence: I love our kids, but you shouldn't have taken off the condom that night.

Chan giggled, and as he was replying to her, all of their phones tinged with a message. They all looked at each other, bewildered about who was texting them at the same time, and upon checking, they realized that it was from Jiwon:

Breakup party, people! Meet me at the Midnight club at 7!

(a/n: this was basically a summing-up chapter, wherein you gain some info about what went on in the past five years. of course, this isn't completely everything, but you get some insight.
