15. I'll Be The Judge Of That

"Mrs Ashkenazi, I'm sure this was all a misunderstanding. I know my daughter. She would never do something like that."
"I'm sorry, Khadijah- Sorry, Mrs Reynolds- but apparently, this isn't the first time that Ashanti has lashed out at a student before."
It was the end of school now, with Ashanti, Kehlani, Cassidy, Trinity and their parents sitting down in the head teacher's office, talking about everything that had happened between them.
Even though Cassidy and Trinity had bullied Ashanti, Cassidy had made it seem as though Ashanti was the bully and not her.
Kehlani had made fun of Ashanti for getting into trouble, with Ashanti beating him up afterwards because the girl was so pissed.
Now Kehlani was using an ice pack for his left eye, with Ashanti seriously having a black eye instead, doing the same thing as him.
All four of them couldn't have stopped shooting dirty looks at each other from across the room, with the parents kind of doing the same thing as well.
No one wanted to be here, they really didn't. And they couldn't have been blamed for it either.
Mrs Ashkenazi was a strict headteacher, so even though the punishment for Trinity and Cassidy would have been severe for bullying Ashanti (and for lying about it too).
It wouldn't have been as severe as Ashanti for beating up Kehlani for no reason.
Fighting someone unnecessarily had a stricter punishment than for that of bullying, for some reason.
But then...
Bullying could have led to fighting unnecessarily either way, which was what Ashanti didn't really understand.
What the office had looked like?
Here:
It was pretty, it really was.
But not now though, due to the situation that everybody was in.
"Kehlani. Be honest. Why did Ashanti push you like that?"
"You're seriously picking him over me?!" Ashanti was furious now, standing up to lash out at Kehlani, with her parents trying to calm her down by forcing her to sit down.
Trinity and Cassidy couldn't really help but to smile at themselves over the racket that their worst enemy ever was making.
Mrs Ashkenazi had told Ashanti to calm down, before asking Kehlani the same question again. Kehlani had then told her that Ashanti had beaten him up for no reason...
However, he hadn't told her that he had deliberately pissed Ashanti off, for some very obvious reasons.
When Ashanti had heard that, she was absolutely furious, telling Mrs Ashkenazi that Kehlani was ticking her off to the point where she had gotten so annoyed that she had no choice really but to push him.
"That's not fair, Kehlani, you know I didn't push you for no reason because that isn't true!"
"Tell that to the judge," Kehlani argued, winking at Ashanti.
Ashanti gave him a dirty look.
And vice versa as well.
"You know what? Now that I think about it, maybe you deserved to be beaten up!"
"Is that so?!" Kehlani hissed back. "Well, if you really feel that way, I guess I can admit to you that I prefer it when we're enemies than friends! At least then we don't have to talk to each other at all!"
Then they had started arguing with each other for a really long time.. that was until Mrs Ashkenazi had gotten annoyed, telling both of them to be quiet.
Then she had turned to Ashanti again.
Ashanti and Kehlani couldn't have stopped glancing at each other as though they wanted to kill each other.
The reason on why Mrs Ashkenazi wanted to talk to Ashanti was because apparently, she had poured water on Cassidy, but that wasn't true.
Cassidy had kept on denying the fact that she had poured water on herself and had blamed it on Ashanti, with Ashanti completely yelling at her for it.
"Oh please, don't lie like that! You know you poured water on yourself and blamed it on me!"
"Don't know what you're talking about," she scowled, rolling her eyes and flicking her hair at the same time.
Ashanti became annoyed again, starting another argument with Trinity and Cassidy afterwards.
Soon though, Kehlani's father had become so annoyed that he had shushed everyone up, with Mrs Ashkenazi thanking him because she wanted to do the same thing but she didn't know how to.
And she didn't know when to either.
But Kehlani's father wasn't finished there.
He wanted to know if there was some sort of evidence to tell who was telling the truth or not.
Nobody had said anything after that... that was until Trinity had suggested that maybe Mrs Ashkenazi could have looked into the CCTV cameras to see who was telling the truth or not.
"Yeah, that's a great idea!" Ashanti hissed. "So that Mrs Ashkenazi can finally realise the liar you and Cassidy are!"
"Enough, Ashanti!" Mrs Ashkenazi had told her, looking into the CCTV camera footage on her computer.
And well.
Ashanti was right- Trinity and Cassidy were lying and Cassidy had poured water on herself before pretty much framing it on Ashanti.
First Ashanti's fiasco with Trinity and Cassidy.
"Popular? You?" Cassidy teased. "Get out of here."
They had seen the book she was reading from far away, and now that they were up close? They could have practically made fun of her for it.
When Ashanti had seen them, she had frowned, before telling them to get lost, both of them.
But inevitably.
They had refused.
And Ashanti was obviously very ticked off about it as well.
"We also heard you and Kehlani fell out," Trinity pointed out, twirling her hair like crazy. "Were both of y'all dating or something? Because if so... I don't blame him for leaving you. He can do soooo much better than you."
Ashanti was absolutely furious now, but Trinity and Cassidy had just made her even more annoyed than before, especially when she had stood up from her seat, telling both of them to shut up again.
Everybody was watching them at this point, including the librarian herself. For some reason though, Cassidy had seen water from Ashanti's water bottle on her table.
Poured it on herself, with Ashanti wondering why.
Then all of a sudden?
Well...
She screamed.
Hard.
The librarian hurried over immediately, wondering what the heck had happened.
"Ashanti poured water on me!"
"No I didn't!"
"Yes, you did!" Trinity hissed, with Ashanti giving her a seriously dirty look and vice versa as well.
At this point in time, the librarian didn't know who the hell to believe, so therefore she had sent Ashanti out of the library, not realising that she was telling the truth.
Then Ashanti and Kehlani.
"You got in trouble, didn't you?" He asked her, chilling near her locker, examining his fingernails deeply. "Good. You got in trouble, just like you deserve."
Funnily enough, when Ashanti had wrongfully gotten accused for pouring water on Cassidy just now, her only punishment was that she was banned from the library until the end of term (two and a half months now) but nothing else.
Unfortunately, that hadn't really lasted for a long time, as before she had known it, Ashanti was furious at Kehlani for mocking her.
Before suddenly...
There was a physical fight between them, with Ashanti causing everything because she was so angry.
"Well, that settles it," Mrs Ashkenazi had said after she had seen the entire CCTV camera footage. "Trinity and Cassidy, you're suspended for a month because you bullied Ashanti and you lied about her pouring water on you."
They were also suspended for that long because Ashanti wasn't the only person that they had picked on.
Ashanti was suspended for three weeks for starting a physical fight with Kehlani, and Kehlani was suspended for two weeks as he hadn't really done anything wrong.
He had just provoked Ashanti on purpose, but even then, Ashanti had started the fight between both of them.
There were no further discussions after all of this, so everyone had left the room, with all the children being in huge trouble by their parents when they had arrived home.
Ashanti and Kehlani had raced to the door, but because they had arrived at the door at the same time, they had kind of argued over it, before Kehlani had told Ashanti that everything was her fault.
Their parents had even argued too, with Kehlani's parents telling Ashanti's parents that before Kehlani had met Ashanti, his life was fine and Ashanti had completely ruined it because she was a bad influence on him.
"Excuse me, but I'll have you know that my daughter Ashanti is well trained."
"Not as well trained as you think she is, because you guys are bad parents," Kehlani's mother had argued.
Kehlani was tired of all of this arguing and he wanted to go to the car already.
His parents had given him the car key before forcing him to go off without them because they had some serious business to do with Ashanti's parents.
Kehlani wouldn't really have believe what he had heard for a while, before rolling his eyes and then walking away.
Ashanti had already gone as well to be honest, but Kehlani's problems were literally just getting started as Trinity and Cassidy wouldn't leave the guy alone.
