december 26

it's around nine in the morning and the only thing yoongi can conclude from this all at the moment is that he's definitely not cut out for this.

letting out a yawn, he almost flinches as he felt the weight of the empty seat beside him shift. turning to his side, his eyes widened a little upon realizing that it's jinyoung who's sitting beside him. at the backseats.

there's no one in the car yet, except for them. the others are still inside the house, still busy packing. as yoongi didn't have much to bring for his stay at the parks' residence, he didn't have much trouble packing for their stay at the resort.

it's an uncomfortable silence. sort of. jinyoung's on his phone, clearly focused on whatever he's typing down. yoongi lets out a small cough, looking out the window, trying not to let his foot start tapping against the car's floor.

they weren't exactly drowned in a comfortable silence. considering the fact that it didn't take too much time for yoongi to figure out that jinyoung didn't like him. he didn't really know if it was something wrong with yoongi's personality, or the fact that yoongi was 'dating' jinyoung's younger brother. jinyoung could just be protective. or, besides all that, perhaps jinyoung somehow found out about yoongi and jimin's faked relationship. whatever the case, yoongi was certain that jinyoung wasn't pleased with him.

which is why he was simply surprised when jinyoung blurted out,

"i know about your fake relationship." jinyoung said, quiet enough for only the two of them to hear.

is he reading my mind, yoongi bites his lip. "sorry." was all he could say.

"it's fine," yoongi could see jinyoung shrug a bit from the corner of his eye. "don't tell mom, i guess. although, i have to ask... why?"

yoongi sighed. "i don't know. mrs. park somehow found out about me being jimin's new boyfriend. i guess jimin just doesn't want to disappoint her, something like that. she's probablyy really happy for him. she found out, the morning after this party, where jimin told me to act as his fake boyfriend. just to make jaebum jealous..."

jinyoung almost flinched at that. "jaebum, you say?"

"yeah." yoongi said.

"well, damn. he might be the reason why mrs. park found out about you."

yoongi stayed quiet. before cursing under his breath, the realization hitting him right in the face. "you're... you're right. shit."

jinyoung chuckled. "don't worry, though. i won't tell mom."

this time, yoongi turned to jinyoung, though the latter was now looking outside the window, closed phone in his hands. yoongi smiled a bit. there was some kind of tone in jinyoung's voice, though he didn't know what.

"thank you." yoongi whispered, looking down at his lap.

jinyoung hummed in response, before the two started to hear footsteps nearby, assuming that the others were finally done packing.

before they were on their way to the resort, jimin ended up sitting with taehyung, both deep in a conversation regarding something yoongi couldn't quite catch. but yoongi didn't mind. as mr. park drove on the road, yoongi couldn't help but be content with the comfortable silence that he shared with none other than park jinyoung.

"i'm quite offended." yoongi spoke behind jimin, as the latter entered their room. "you don't want to be my roommate during our stay here?"

the cold air made yoongi slightly shiver as he placed his stuff on the nearby sofa, taking a look at the room. double bed with comfortable looking white sheets, curtains covering the sunlight that emitted from outside on the balcony, a coffee table near aforementioned sofa and it was safe to assume that the bathroom was nice, as well.

"well," jimin started, placing his stuff near yoongi's, "you won't be any fun, hyung. you'll literally just sleep around all day."

yoongi gasped. "it's like you're psychic or something." he said, before running up to the bed and crashing onto the white sheets, burying his face against the soft comforter.

jimin rolled his eyes at the sight of yoongi groaning comfortably, body still against the soft double bed. "i'll go change into something comfortable." he said, before grabbing some denim shorts and a plain white shirt. "are you just going to sleep all-- come on, it's our first day here." jimin slightly huffed.

"that's the plan!" yoongi screamed, words muffled into the bed, before hearing the bathroom door close. rolling over, he faced the ceiling and sighed. with a room too quiet for his liking, he decided to sit up, ruffling his hair a bit before heading towards the door. he decided to head out for a bit and check out the place, at least the hallway, considering that he's legitimately tired.

he yawned, opening the door and stepping out into the hallway. they were specifically on the second floor. the place was quite nice, elevator and all. carpeted floor, nice lighting and all that. yoongi was about to head back inside due to his legs no longer holding him up, until a door, about five doors away, opened, producing a sound that startled yoongi.

shuffling backwards, he watched from behind the door frame, as somebody stepped out of the aforementioned door and into the hallway, hastily locking their room. yoongi squinted. focused. before his eyes widened in shock, dragging his palm against his face in disbelief. he was unable to hear a nearby door open once more, unfortunately.

"yoongi?" jimin called out from inside their room, eyebrow raised at the sight of yoongi peeking outside their door. "you're letting all the cold air out." he walked over to yoongi, who watched as the male looked around, clearly puzzled, searching for the source of the voice. jimin's voice.

reacting quickly, yoongi turned around, facing jimin who was just about to tap him on the shoulder. "hyung, what are you--" yoongi cut him off by placing his hands on his shoulders. yoongi let his foot slam their door close, before pushing jimin further into the room.

"hyung," jimin whined, looking towards their door. "let's go outside. why are you acting like thi--"

"yeah, uh, no." yoongi said, firmly. "i don't think that's a good idea when im jaebum's walking down these halls."

"don't worry, hyung, this'll be fun!" taehyung exclaimed, trying to cheer jimin up.

they were currently in line for a water slide. taehyung ended up getting paired up with a female stranger around his age, who seemed quite scared of the water slide, actually. yoongi and jimin, as usual, were paired up but it didn't quite help soothe jimin's nerves, knowing that im jaebum was literally behind them. no idea how that ended up happening, but yoongi just told jimin to look forward and never back.

well, too bad. because when taehyung and the stranger were about to slide down, the stranger whimpered and backed away. the man handling the slide sighed, looking over at yoongi. "hey, kid, do you mind replacing her?"

jimin flinched beside yoongi. the latter spoke slowly, "um, i don't--"

"come on, kid." the man sighed.

yoongi glanced over at jimin, who was trying to keep his calm. jimin looked back at yoongi and just gave him a nod. "just go. it's okay. i'll meet you down there." he whispered.

yoongi gave him a short nod and a worried look before reluctantly stepping forward, standing on the space that the stranger was previously on.

taehyung looked back and glared at jaebum, who was now standing next to jimin and smirking at the latter. "jimin. taehyung. yoongi..." jaebum began, "how nice to see you guys here."

jimin stayed quiet.

taehyung frowned. "hyung, i can just switch places with you if you want--" he offered, but the man beside them cut him off by placing his palms on taehyung and yoongi's backs.

"go ahead, get on the boat, people are waiting," the man said, impatiently and as taehyung sat on the floaty boat (is that what it's called lol u guys get the point anyways) and yoongi followed. taehyung gave jimin an apologetic look before they were almost immediately launched, boat traveling through the slide with all kinds of twists and turns. yoongi, with wide eyes, held onto the boat as he watched taehyung in disbelief. taehyung was grinning, screaming a long, "woo!"

and then, taehyung let out the longest 'yeah boi' he could manage.

"jesus, jesus christ!" yoongi yelled, as water splashed against his face when they took another turn.

"this. is. awesome!" taehyung shouted, raising his arms as yoongi prepared himself when the boat was about to hit the huge swimming pool at the bottom. yoongi squinted his eyes, spotting a lot of people swimming around, before spotting the end of the slide and opening his mouth to scream at taehyung,

"taehyung! i can't swi--"

but it was too late as the boat hit the bottom, shockingly toppling over due to the force. yoongi found himself under the water, arms desperately trying to lift himself up. taehyung, who was looking around underwater, spotted his struggle and swam towards him, swatting the boat aside and wrapping his arms around yoongi's waist as he swam upwards. yoongi started coughing upon coming out into the surface as taehyung swam towards the side of the pool with his arms still secure on yoongi's waist.

yoongi immediately lifted himself up, sitting on the edge and coughing out a bit more water. taehyung sat beside him, smiling happily and looking over at yoongi with curiosity.

"say, yoongi... do you like my twin?"

more coughs erupted out of yoongi's mouth, hand flying up to cover his lips as he gave taehyung an incredulous stare.

taehyung just tilted his head to the side, giving yoongi an expectant look. "well?"

"what--" yoongi coughed out, "--are you talking about? of course i do, he's my boyf--"

taehyung shrugged. "i know about the fake relationship."

jesus, do these brothers share minds or something? yoongi thought, frowning at taehyung. "wow, you too?"

taehyung gave him a smile. "it's fine, by the way. how'd mom find out about you, though?"

"someone told her..." yoongi answered. "jinyoung thinks it might be jaebum who mentioned me."

"probably gave her a call." taehyung agreed. "anyway, back to the question. give me a proper answer, would you? do you like--"

"yoongi!"

both heads turned towards the end of the slide, where they saw jimin swimming towards them, although jaebum was nowhere to be seen. jimin rested his arms on the side of the pool, in front of yoongi, making the latter lean towards him. a visible shade of red dusted jimin's cheeks as they were only inches apart.

"did jaebum do anything to you?" yoongi asked in a low voice.

all jimin could do was shake his head 'no' in response, looking towards the water with a shy look on his face. "he just... he just tried agitating me or something... but nothing serious," jimin looked up at yoongi, shaking his head. "don't worry about me!"

yoongi smiled, leaning back and looking over at taehyung, who was beginning to stand up on his feet. "i'll take that rain check, yoongi." taehyung spoke, giving yoongi a small wink, before turning on his heel and walking off.

yoongi sighed, turning towards jimin, who had his head tilted to the side, a curios gaze directed towards yoongi's way.

"what was that about?" jimin asked.

yoongi just stood up, offering jimin a hand to get out of the pool.

"it was..." yoongi dragged on. "it was nothing."

shitty chap merry christmas
