end ↭ twenty-two.

there will still be a bonus chapter though :)

the first thing jimin notices is that yoongi's parents often dress up professionally.

when yoongi and he were finally at the mins' front door, mr. and mrs. min answered the doorbell by a heartbeat, greeting their son with the words, "you're a minute late." but jimin couldn't help but notice how they were dressed up as if they were going to get an emergency call from work any second now.

they also looked young. compared to jimin's parents, they looked younger. jimin wondered what their ages were as he also zoned in and out of yoongi and his parents' conversation, noticing how sharp they were with their words.

they seemed strict. but yoongi didn't seem to be as tense as jimin. yoongi was too nonchalant with his words, making jimin think, isn't he scared of getting scolded?

"it's one minute." yoongi whined.

mrs. min rolled her eyes, gaze flickering towards jimin. "is this your boyfriend?" she asked, voice neither on a tone of disappointment or satisfaction. "i am min jihyun, i'd rather you call me jihyun."

mr. min turned towards jimin as well, "oh." he, just like his wife, looked neither disappointed or satisfied. "i'm min hyunsik. address me however you want."

"mmm," yoongi hummed, casually draping his arm on jimin's shoulders. "this is my boyfriend, park--"

mrs. min shushed him, shaking her head lightly. "all introductions and questions will be at the dining table." she said, turning on her red high heels and walking towards the kitchen. mr. min said nothing as he merely opened the door wider for the two, before walking towards the kitchen as well.

one word that could describe yoongi's home... well, fancy.

fancier than jimin's, at least. jimin could see yoongi as a rich kid-- though he never really thought of him that way, or imagined him living in a luxurious house such as this one.

jimin, staying silent, followed yoongi through the living room and into the dining room.

(OKAY GUYS I CAN'T DESCRIBE IT BUT HERE'S A PICTURE OF HOW I SORTA IMAGINE IT??)

the two settled on the comfy chairs, sitting next to each other while mr. and mrs. min sit in front of them. for a while, dinner becomes silent and one fourth awkward as jimin quietly chewed on his food and tried not to think about it.

jimin started to feel regret seep into his system until mrs. min cleared her throat. "so," she began, "tell us about yourself." she said, directing the statement towards jimin.

"oh, um," jimin opened his mouth to say something but mrs. min interrupted him,

"full name?" she inquired.

"oh-- park jimin..." jimin answered.

"passion?" mr. min asked, sipping on his drink.

"dancing, but i'm taking a course that's--"

"parents' name?" mrs. min raised a brow.

"park jiyeon and park daewon..." jimin answered.

"parents' jobs?" at this point, jimin wondered why these questions were necessary.

"my mom's a doctor and my dad's an engineer. but he's more focused on the cafe our family owns." jimin tried smiling but was caught off guard by another set of questions.

"where did you meet my son?" mrs. min questioned.

"we're--" yoongi tried to pipe into the conversation, but mrs. min glanced at him for a brief second with a frown plastered on her face, completely shutting him up, before turning back to jimin with a light smile.

"go on." mrs. min told him.

jimin gulped. "we just knew each other through some mutual friends and i was going through a breakup when he approached me." he felt a pain in his chest as he spoke some more, "at first, he was sort of a rebound but i promise-- i really like him now." he looked down shyly at his plate.

"that's cute," mr. min remarked, "as long as you like him, i suppose."

"as long as you treat him right." mrs. min added.

jimin felt guilty as he heard yoongi say the words, "he treats me right." even with a smile on his face.

"so," mrs. min leaned forward, towards jimin, to which the latter did as well, giving the woman a curious look. "did you guys fuck yet?" mrs. min whispered, leaning back and afterwards giggling at the state of the blush on jimin's cheeks, the male shaking his head continuously in response.

mr. min sighed, exasperated. "don't scare the kid, jihyun."

"what?" mrs. min said in an innocent tone, nudging her husband on the side of his arm. "this is one of the reasons why we got married, remember? to make fun of our children when they obtain a decent relationship."

yoongi let out a nervous chuckle. "okay, guys," he said, "let's not go there."

jimin glanced at him with slight disbelief, how is he acting so normal?

mrs. min cleared her throat, "okay, in all seriousness, we were previously aware of your bisexuality, yoongi. but perhaps this will take a little time for us to get used to."

"i'm already used to it, though?" mr. min piped in.

mrs. min hushed him before she continued, "but as long as jimin makes you happy, we're happy for you." she smiled at both of them, warmly.

"he makes me happy." yoongi said, smiling over at jimin. "i wouldn't let him go even if my life depended on it." yoongi said in all seriousness, it sent a shiver down jimin's spine and sort of cracked a piece of his heart.

mrs. min cooed. "how cute." she commented. "but we're at the dinner table, yoongi. don't be sappy, hyunsik here might choke--"

"shut up," mr. min rolled his eyes.

instead of listening to mr. and mrs. min's bickering, jimin stared at yoongi, who was staring back at him, almost looking as if he were waiting for jimin to say something. anything. jimin felt his mouth dry as he let out a shaky breath, blinking and giving yoongi a look that read, what are you doing? as he stiffly stood from his chair.

"if you'll just... excuse me for a moment." he coughed, "i'll just go get some fresh air, if you guys don't mind?" he asked mr. and mrs. min, who looked at him questioningly but nonetheless, they both nodded for him to go.

as the three watched jimin walk out the dining room, yoongi couldn't help but let out a frustrated groan.

mrs. min turned to him, taking a bite of her food and chewing whilst shaking her head disappointingly at him. "christ, yoongi." she said, "i didn't raise you like this. you're such a failure."

mr. min sighed. "it's your first relationship, son." to which mrs. min followed up with, "it's his second, you ding dong."

yoongi stared at them oddly. "what are you guys talking about?"

mrs. min nearly choked on her food, "go after him, you idiot."

"don't lose him." mr. min shrugged.

yoongi stared at them for a while, before slowly getting up and giving them a thankful glance before walking out the dining room.

mrs. min rolled her eyes, "young love, am i right?"

mr. min chuckled. "it's tiring to watch."

meanwhile, yoongi scanned the living room. jimin wasn't anywhere to be seen. gaze traveling over to the front door, he noticed how it was ajar, meaning jimin somehow got out without letting the door make a sound.

sighing, yoongi walked over and exit the house, stepping into the porch. he saw jimin in the distance, walking further with his arms hugging his own sides. yoongi groaned, running down the porch steps. "jimin, wait!" he yelled, catching the orange haired boy's attention.

jimin turned around. "hyung." he breathed. "sorry. i was just getting some air--"

"what are you doing?"

jimin looked at him, confused.

"no, i mean, what are you doing?"

jimin looked away. "honestly, i don't know." he answered, truthfully.

as jimin stood there, silent, yoongi took his chance and took a few steps forward. "is it the fake boyfriend thing? i'm sorry if it's making you uncomfortable, i can just--"

"there's nothing to be sorry for." jimin interrupted.

"well, there is." yoongi stated.

jimin flinched. "yoongi, don't..."

"the night we kissed. morning, or whatever the fuck time it was," yoongi began, ignoring the pained look on jimin's face. "i wasn't sorry because i regret kissing you."

"then why were you?" jimin asked, weakly.

"i was sorry. not because i didn't want to kiss you or because i didn't like you. i was sorry because i thought you didn't like me and i messed it all up."

at first, all jimin did was blink and stare at yoongi.

and then he went hysterical.

"you? min yoongi? literally who wouldn't be in love with you? i know i've been in love with you for god knows how long. i mean, really, when i was a freshman, i didn't know anything about you compared to this year, but all my friends would talk about you and i don't know, but i think i fell in love with you long before i even met you." he spoke, tone between infuriated and hysteria-- rather, right around the middle. "you're cute, you're handsome, you're passionate about what you do... around second year, people would tell me to avoid you because," he took a deep breath, "he's an asshole, he's a grump, he's really mean and looks like he'll punch you any second now. but i've seen another side of you and everything i've heard about you, before i asked you to be my goddamn fake boyfriend or before we became friends, is now irrelevant to my thoughts. don't ever assume i didn't like you back at our kiss, because i am absolutely... shamelessly, madly in love with you. so don't give me that shit." he finished, mouth dry and slightly panting at his words.

yoongi, mouth slightly open and feelings genuinely filled with confusion, stared at jimin, trying to register everything.

it clicked.

yoongi gave him a stupid grin. "you're in love with me?"

"no shit," jimin said, a light shade dusting his cheeks. "how about you? you've been belting 'i love you' at me for the past few weeks and that's what you say?" he looks down at the ground, suddenly shy at his little speech. "besides... yugyeom's actually the guy i played jenga with at hoseok's party..." he trailed off.

"well." yoongi said, actually unsure of what to say. "fuck, i guess."

jimin says nothing.

"so..." yoongi sighed. "what do you say, park jimin?"

jimin looked up, giving him a short hum.

"will you be my boyfriend? for forever? not a month. not a fucking day. forever."

a small smile tugged at the ends of jimin's lips. "for coffee and donuts?"

yoongi shakes his head. "no. fuck no. none of that."

"well." jimin shoots yoongi a smile that nearly melts yoongi's heart, because it's genuine and he actually feels happy after all the things he'd been through. that's all he could conclude this time-- they were happy.

"you've got yourself a deal."
