yoongi wakes up alone.

the familiar feeling of pain in his head hits him, making him groan as he sat up on the edge of the bed. grabbing the glass of water on the bedside table, he slowly drank it, putting the glass away afterwards and standing up to head to the bathroom.

before he could reach the bathroom door, hard knocks on the door sounded in his room, making him turn around and head towards said door.

upon opening it, he was greeted by the sight of an angry... jimin.

wait, no. an angry taehyung. yoongi squinted.

"taehyung, what are you--"

unexpectedly, taehyung didn't let him finish. the younger placed his hands firmly on yoongi's shoulders, pushing the older back. way back into the room, until yoongi winced in pain when his back hit the wall.

"yah! taehyung, you--"

"how about that damned rain check." taehyung growled, teeth gritted, eyes blazing with pure anger.

yoongi's eyes widened in realization, "where's jimin?" he said, tone in voice all too frantic.

taehyung laughed. it scared yoongi because it went on for almost ten seconds, until taehyung abruptly stopped, glaring daggers at yoongi. "why would you care?" taehyung scoffed. "he spent all night in our room, crying. i wonder why."

yoongi sighed, forcing taehyung to let his grip on yoongi's shoulders lessen by grabbing onto taehyung's wrist and pushing his arms away. "no. listen--"

"yoongi, you--"

"no, seriously," yoongi interrupted, "listen."

taehyung pressed his lips into a thin line, a glint in his eye urging for yoongi to continue.

"i don't remember exactly what happened last night." yoongi stated, "but what i do know for sure, is that whatever i told jimin after our kiss-- i didn't mean it. i was drunk, he was too, and i..." yoongi hesitated. "i think i might like him, too? so, just... just tell him i'm sorry. i wasn't able to finish my sentence last night."

"why would i believe you?" taehyung raised a brow, placing his hand on his hip. "and why would i apologize? i'm not the one at fault."

yoongi bit on his bottom lip anxiously. "believe me. i would never hurt jimin."

"you just did."

yoongi frowned. "i didn't mean to." he said.

taehyung, eyeing the boy, sighed. "look," he began, "i personally think you're good for my brother. even though you were in some kind of fake relationship, you guys were too blind to realize that you're sorta fallin' for each other." he chuckled.

yoongi stayed silent.

"so, please," he looked at yoongi, straight in the eye, "get your shit together."

much to yoongi's slight surprise, taehyung ended up helping him search for jimin. upon their arrival at taehyung and jinyoung's shared room, they were confused as to why jimin and jinyoung were no longer there.

now, they were at the poolside, searching for jimin.

"maybe he went with jinyoung somewhere." taehyung suggested as they stood near the edge of the pool, right near the deep waters. "bathroom, maybe?"

yoongi shrugged. "i just wanna apologize." he bit his lip.

taehyung rolled his eyes. "this wouldn't have happened in the first place if you were clearer on the subject, hyung. knowing jimin, he'll constantly reject you at this point. avoid you at all costs, stuff like that. his most used reason is, 'you don't have to pity me.'" taehyung mocked the last few parts, changing the tone in his voice, making it higher to somewhat fit jimin's.

yoongi laughed. "sorry." he said, "after the kiss, i was sort of confused and starstruck. like, wow. jimin likes me back."

taehyung raised an eyebrow. "what, you never noticed?"

yoongi frowned, opening his mouth to reply until he stopped at the sight of taehyung's widened eyes and at the sound of a voice yelling,

"no! wait-- he can't swim!"

and before yoongi knows it, he'd fallen over and into the water, body struggling as he moved his arms and legs desperately, although he still couldn't move as he slowly sunk down the twelve feet of water.

the last thing he'd heard was the faint sound of taehyung's voice, and a loud splash of water, right above him.

when yoongi wakes up, his throat felt sore, immediately breaking a cough out. his nose felt like it was burning, and on his right was a blurred figure. upon squinting his eyes, he breathed out with a small cough,

"jimin?"

the figure gasped. as he felt for his surroundings, yoongi quickly noticed how he was on something soft. a bed. turning his head forward, there was-- jimin?

sitting up, yoongi rubbed his eyes, looking to his side, at 'jimin' once more. "oh. wait. oh. taehyung. hi." he turned his head forward, where jimin actually was, a slightly hurt look on the younger's face. "jimin."

taehyung, who had gasped earlier, looked offended. "you asshole! how can you mistaken me for jimin? and right when you said--"

before taehyung could continue, yoongi directed a light punch against taehyung's knee, making the orange haired boy groan and get up, stomping behind jimin.

yoongi looked over at jimin, whose orange hair was... wet. although his clothes were dry, it sort of looked like he...

"jimin. your hair."

"yeah, i know, right?" taehyung piped in, glancing between the two. "he saved you, by the way. also, jinyoung's waiting in your room. wants to talk or something." he inhaled through his gritted teeth, "wouldn't blame him, i mean, after he pushed you, he--"

"he did what?" yoongi interrupted, a series of coughs attacking him after. "jinyoung- jinyoung pushed me into the pool?"

taehyung shrugged. "who else would it be? now, go. he might do something worse."

yoongi glances at jimin, "but--"

a frown makes its way to jimin's face. "go."

gulping, yoongi stood up and rushed towards the door, stepping out and quickly shutting it behind him. he leaned his back against the door and after a few seconds, started to hear whispers coming from inside the room he was previously in. he couldn't be bothered to try and listen in on the quiet conversation between jimin and taehyung.

instead, he shuffled over to the door next door, lightly knocking on it.

with no response, he knocked once more, a little harder. still no response.

yoongi decided to slightly open the door, slip into the room and quietly push the door closed. turning around and leaning against the door, he spotted jinyoung sitting on one of the comfy armchairs surrounding the coffee table, legs and arms crossed, face with an unreadable expression as he stared at yoongi.

gulping, yoongi inched closer, dragging his feet across the carpet and standing a few feet away from jinyoung.

"you wanted to talk to me?"

no response. jinyoung just glared daggers at yoongi, lips twitching for a millisecond.

yoongi frowned. "what did you want to--"

yoongi stopped as jinyoung uncrossed his legs, leaning forward with his arms still crossed. "heard you hurt my brother."

yoongi flinched. "i--"

"you have ten seconds to explain why, or i'll literally punch you in the dick."

yoongi's eyes widened. "i'm not the asshole who pushed someone into the pool. i can't swim--"

a small smile tugged at the corner of jinyoung's lips. "i already knew you couldn't swim."

yoongi, staring at him, opened his mouth to fight jinyoung, but the latter beat him to it,

"ten seconds." he said, voice firm, slashing through the air, making yoongi slightly panic.

"ten."

"wait, i just," yoongi quickly said, thinking of what to say, mind in ruins. "i broke his--"

jinyoung boomed, "nine."

"wait, i can explain--" yoongi frowned.

jinyoung shrugged, "eight."

"i didn't--" yoongi paused.

with an impatient sigh, the younger continued, "seven."

"i didn't mean it, i..." yoongi trailed off, trying to shape his thoughts into words.

"six."

"i was a little tipsy."

jinyoung clearly frowned at that. "five."

"i wasn't... thinking." yoongi said, a frown across his features.

seems like jinyoung's dissatisfaction grew. "four."

"it was a mistake." yoongi blurted out.

jinyoung stood from his seat, really not looking satisfied. voice firmer this time, he growled out, "three."

yoongi shook his head. "no, no, i just--"

"two."

"i..."

"one--"

"i like jimin, okay?" yoongi yelled.

jinyoung merely stares at yoongi in disbelief, cocking an eyebrow. "you have a very odd way of showing it."

"i'm just confused." yoongi said.

"the only person here who should be confused is me, because i really don't know what the hell you're doing."

"sorry," yoongi muttered. "taehyung told me it'll be hard to explain to jimin what i actually fucking meant." he ran his fingers through his hair, "goddamn, i'm stupid."

jinyoung watched yoongi for a moment, before letting out a sigh.

"do you care about him?"

yoongi looked up. "well, yeah."

"do you hate seeing him cry?"

"i like seeing him smile more." yoongi slightly smiled at the thought of jimin smiling, too.

jinyoung hummed. "would you do anything to keep him happy?"

it took yoongi a second, but, "yeah."

"do you like him?"

"i just said--"

jinyoung interrupted, "do you like him?"

yoongi rolled his eyes. "yeah. yeah, i do."

"do you love him?"

yoongi hesitated, but ended up slightly nodding without a word.

"well." jinyoung said, "there's your answer."
