*Chapter 5 • Connected sparks*

Since the two other chapters are so short, here's a longer, more drama filled, fluffy chapter for you guys. :D

----

"Lord Megatron, I have some news I think you may like."

Starscream, the second in command, walks into his masters chambers with the soft clicks of his stilettos. The blood red eyes of Megatron flicker with annoyance but curiosity all at the same time. His long, claw-like finger tap in a rhythm against his throne chair.

"What is it?" Megatron spits out, obviously already tired of Starscream's presence.

"Soundwave was digging around and he found out that yet another human has been added to the Autobot collection. Seems it's a grown woman this time. Not a child. Good thing is, she isn't under any protection as we speak."

With a sinister curl of his lips and wild look in his eyes, Megatron stands from his throne. Starscream gulps and cowers down under the evil eyes of the Decepticon leader.

"Then go and retrieve her. Do not fail me, Starscream."

•••

It was early in the morning, around seven when you heard the front door open then close. You guessed it was Mark going to look for a new job since he got fired from his last one. When you knew everything was clear, you slip out from the room and down the hallway to the bathroom. Looking into the mirror, all you saw was someone who needed help.

Your eyes were bloodshot from the crying, tear stains littered your cheeks, blood ran down one side of your lip when you bit the soft skin too hard. Your fingertips brush over the dark circles that was under your eyes, frowning deeply at how awful you looked. After splashing some water from the sink over your face to clean up your pale skin, a knock on the door makes you jump. Quickly drying off your face with a clean towel, you run down the hallway and to the door in a hurry. When swinging it open, you see Raf standing there with a cheeky smile.

"Hello, (Y/n)!" He greets, pushing up his red glasses that wanted to fall down his nose.

A motherly feeling spreads through your chest and you get down on your knees to match his height. Behind Raf was Bee who waited in your drive way like a normal car, yet you were all too sure that he was watching everything. The scout had to keep an optic on his human at all times, including you. Since that night when Bee dropped you off, all he was able to think about was how you cried the whole way home. Of course, Bee went directly back to the base and told everything to the Autobot leader himself.
Optimus couldn't say he was happy to hear that you were in tears the whole way home, and even worse, probably about how you had yelled at him. His spark sank when he found out you were broken because of him.

"Look, I have a proposal," Raf starts, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. "The others told me not to try and convince you but you need to know what's going on." His adorable eyes shine at you, his lips still tipped into the smallest smile.

You lift a brow at him, knowing exactly where he was about to go. His small hands grab onto yours and his fingers intertwine against yours. In that moment, he felt the son or daughter you never got to meet. Raf is the most intelligent kid you've ever met, and it would be a lie if you said that you didn't care for him, along with Miko and Jack.

"Optimus is a wreck." He puts in bluntly, looking down at his hands that was connected to yours. "Most of the time, he's off in his berthroom thinking about you. I may or may not have given him an ear full yesterday. The only time he snaps out of his trance is when Ratchet says something about the Decepticons."

Optimus? Worrying for me?

"You have to come back!" Raf exclaims, pulling his hands from yours and backing away towards Bee like he was motioning you over with him. "If you don't come out here, then Bee and I will just wait here until you do."

You heave out a sigh, pulling yourself to your feet and closing the door. Before the door closes all the way, your lips curve up into a smile and Raf furrows his eyebrows at you.

This was your chance to apologize to Optimus and the others. This time, you didn't plan to screw up. In the blink of an eye, you're throwing on new clothes and putting on shoes, not going barefooted like you have for the past couple days. When you open the door back up, Raf and Bee are still waiting outside. When Bee sees you in different clothes and determined, he opens the drivers door and basically tells you to get in.

You climb into the front seat and lean back, knowing good and well that Bee can drive himself. Raf watches you from the corner of his eyes, thinking you were absolutely gorgeous without teary eyes and an alarmed expression. You were warming up to the family and it made him feel at home.

Bee backs out of your drive way and the first chance he gets, he speeds down the road and back to base on the desert looking road. You cling to the comfortable leather seats while Raf just leans his head on the window like he wasn't scared at all. Everyone stays quiet, relishing the moment of easy silence. At some point, you felt your eyes drift closed. You weren't sleeping, just resting your eyes and drinking in the feeling of peacefulness. Raf does the same, folding his child-like hands in his lap, knowing that he better take his time and relax because when you all get back to the base, things will become sorrowful. You knew it in the back of your mind, too.

You and Raf jerk forward when Bee suddenly skids to a stop. Your eyes snap open and peer into the windshield, seeing another robot that looked very unfamiliar. Unlike all of the Autobots that had some kind of bright and friendly color painted to their armor, this Cybertronian was completely silver, a dark grey at the most. His crimson colored eyes burned with desire. Not lust, but the desire of death. It made you get unpleasant goosebumps up and down your arms.

"Starscream," Raf says through clenched teeth. He turns to you and you can see the never ending fear swimming in his eyes. "He's one of the bad guys; a Decepticon."

Many chirps, whirs, and stress sounding beeps come spilling from the radio. Raf places a hand on Bee's dashboard to calm his friend. The voice of Ratchet comes through the radio, static clinging to his voice like glue. Bee revs at Starscream like he was taunting him in some way. The Decepticon's eyes narrow menacingly and he starts to stagger towards you all.

"Sending a groundbridge now," Ratchet's gruff voice murmurs, and if on cue, bright colors flash behind the humble scout.

Bee's tires make the gut churning noise of being skidded across searing hot pavement and he starts to speed backwards towards the portal of swirling green, blue, and teal lights that could hypnotize anyone if they stare long enough. Right as panic and regret flashes across Starscream's face, you all swerve into the portal and it closes before the second in command could follow. You press a hand over your mouth, trying to keep down the vomit that raised up your throat. Raf reaches over and rubs your back soothingly, trying to help calm your nausea. A few seconds of Bee transforming, metal rubbing against mental and clicks of parts being put in place, you find yourself in Bee's hand along with Raf.

"It's okay, (Y/n). I did this my first time as well. You eventually get used to it." Raf cooes, still running his hand up and down your back.

"What happened? Are you guys hurt?" Arcee comes stalking up, worry seeping from her optics.

"No, Arcee. Starscream just surprised us. They must know that we have (Y/n) now. They're not going to stop for anything to find and kidnap her for torture." Raf turns towards Bumblee, nuzzling his face against Bee's helm in thanks. "Thanks, Bee." The scout chirps in return.

After swallowing the nerves, and the vomit, you lift your eyes to see you're back in the base, almost as if you had never left in the first place. Bee sets you and Raf down on the platform gently, trying not to injure the both of you. Ratchet doesn't say anything, only giving stone cold glances.

"(Y/n)'s back?" You hear Miko ask, her head popping up from behind the couch. When her line of sight stops on you, all you hear is the shrill scream of her lungs. "You're back!" She comes running over, tackling you in a tight hug. This time, you hug her back without hesitation.

Jack was no where to be found which you found odd. He usually sat around the couch with Miko but it seemed she was by herself today. Everyone was smiling, completely overjoyed their new friend came back. All except Bulkhead and Optimus who was no where to be found. Arcee catches a glimpse of you searching the place for Optimus.

"He's out on a mission with Bulkhead and Jack. In the next few minutes, both of them should be back." Arcee states.

Miko, the whole time, still hadn't let go of you. Her face was pressed into your chest and her arms curled around you like she never wanted to let go.

"You can't leave like that ever again," she pulls her face up to meet yours. "Ever. You had everyone worried. Especially Optimus!" She cries in anger at you, releasing her friendly hug and cocking attitude.

"Miko, give her a break. What would you do if you were in the same situation?" Raf presses a hand to his friends shoulder, trying to make her back off.

"I would explain! I would explain all the bad things then move on. You can't keep locking yourself away, (Y/n)!" She shrugs off his hand, still staring at your face with determination.

You flinch at her words. She was right. You can't keep locking yourself away from the world, but how does one just open up so easily? All the time you've been alive, the people who gave you life kept you away from others. How were you supposed to learn? To make mistakes and move on? Opening up isn't as easy as she thinks. It isn't as easy as you though it would be.

"Stop!" Raf yells at Miko. "Can't you see you're upsetting her? You know she can't handle too much pressure."

Miko unclenches her white-knuckled fists, gasping in shock at how she made you tear up. Thing is, you didn't even know you had teared up. So lost in thought, all you could think about how you were going to explain to Optimus that you were sorry for everything, that you were going to give your whole background wholeheartedly. Trust comes with the package of friendship.

"I didn't mean to make you cry." She whispers, like she was in so much shock in hurt to speak.

You lift a hand and find your fingertips running over the tears that had fallen from your eyes. Bad thing is, you had no reason to cry yet. It just happened. You're quick to wipe away the tears with the back of your hand, thinking nothing of it. Arcee steps in to break up the spat.

"Quit it. There was no need for that Miko." Arcee corrects.

"No. It needed to be said. I didn't mean to make her cry." Miko stands her ground, puffing out her chest against the femme. "I'm not going back on what I said." Then she leaves the scene and heads back for the couch.

You look towards the others, noticing the saddened expressions painted across their faces. Your lips curl into a frown.

"I'm sorry..." You speak softly, face pale. It felt so unnatural to talk. You despised the feeling.

Miko's head turns around so fast you thought she had gotten whiplash. Raf sucks in a breath, eyes wide.

"Did you just-?" She gets cut off when the rest of the crew comes rolling in with loud roars of their engines.

Optimus comes in behind Bulkhead, and you immediately stiffen at seeing the beautiful, unscratched semi truck change into the bot that had stolen your mind, and maybe even your heart. Before Bulkhead transforms, Jack hops out and heads for Arcee, in which she sends a motherly smile. You choke up when your eyes connect with Optimus' crystal colored optics that seemed to shine like a thousand blue suns put together.

"You were right, Optimus. She did come back." Ratchet turns to his leader, scowling so hard you thought his face would get stuck like that. Why did he dislike you so much?

The air around you, even time and space, seemed to slow down to a stop. All you could focus on was Optimus and the way his face contorted into denial. You didn't intend on bringing in the waterworks, but your emotional hormones, added with the way he looked at you, made your heart split directly down the middle.

Little did you know, the same exact thing was happening to him. The way your eyes glimmered when tears filled them made his spark clench up. But even filled with tears, he found them incredibly beautiful, like your eyes were made of many stars from the dark night sky. Your chest heaved up and down as you were trying to control the tears and the cries that wanted to escape. Stress borrowed deep down into your features like every time you saw him, even now.

He had a war to win, a planet to save, yet every passing second, he wanted to deepen his relationship with you, build trust and break down walls one day at a time. It was horrific and hopeful all at the same time. He kept reminding himself that he had only met you a few days ago but every single second you fill his head to the brim. To the way your hair lays, the way your eyes light up when you laugh, the face you make when you cry, how soft and silky your voice sounded despite being strained.

You both didn't know how to handle it. All you both wanted to do was run in the opposite direction, but at the same time, you two wanted to hold onto each other and never let go. Never. It's like the two of you feel connected in ways that no one else could comprehend. Your connected sparks.

"The only hope for me is you." You both say in unison, and at the moment, you both realize that the only way is together.

----

Before you ask, no. They're not together or in love yet. But they're both getting a little bit of feelings. JUST HANG ON. I'M TRYING NOT TO RUSH. SORTA.

Prime was so OOC in this chapter. I don't even give a fu-
