Leon Storm

"Damn Lyn! What are you doing there? Its raining for heaven's sake what where you thinking?" I yelled as I took the car key and dashed out of the house. As I settled myself in the car I drove to Lyn. Dreadful thoughts took over me. Is Lyn okay? Did something happen to her? Is she Lying in the middle of the street covered in blood? All these horrible thoughts hovered on my mind.

Speeding up the car I pushed all the thoughts away and focused on driving. I tried to call her number but she wasn't picking up.
The rain was getting heavier and the car's headlights was of no use in this dark weather. Between the dim lights and drizzling rain I saw a person walking in the middle of the road. Stepping hard on the break in order to put a halt there came a shriek and THUD. For a moment there was silence, only the thumping of my heart and the sound of the raindrops dropping on the car was heard. I unlocked my seatbelt and jumped out of the car. The heavy rain falling mercilessly making it hard to see but I didn't care. I was worried for the person, worried that it might be Lyn. I prayed it was not her as I stepped closer, dread was enveloping me. The girl laying on the ground had blood all around her and kind of looked familiar. Fear took over me and I debated whether I should turn her around or not.

I was horrified. Was it because she might have died or maybe she is Lyn? I wasn't sure. Gathering up my courage I turned her around. My breath stopped as I saw her face. My hands were shaking and also paralysed. There in front of me was lying Lyn covered in blood. My mind was a chaos and my brain was not functioning. I tried to call the ambulance but couldn't. I stayed still holding on to Lyn as she was coughing blood. Suddenly my phone rang. I picked it up with shaky hands.

"Hello Leon!" The caller said. "Do you know how long I've been waiting at your house? Where are you? Hello? Leon can you hear me?" Axel said but I couldn't answer. The tears made me unable to talk. "Hello Leon are you listening to me?"

"Y-yes I can hear you..." I finally said and disconnected the call. I should not waste anymore time. I wiped the tears off my face and picked up Lyn. Knowing that crying won't solve anything. I put her at the back seat carefully and then drove to the hospital as fast as I could.

Upon arriving at the emergency sector of the hospital. I picked Lyn up and rushed inside. Two nurses came with a stretcher and laid her on it. They took him to the ICU and told me wait. After a few minutes another nurse came. "Excuse me sir you need to fill this." She said and handed me a form. I took it with a nod.
"Here!" I said handing it to her after finishing all the required information on the form. She took it and left. The hallway was silent as if I was the only one there. Putting my head down I tried to stay calm and hope that Lyn will be fine but years continued to fall. Whenever I heard footsteps I thought it was Lyn running to me through that door...but no. My phone started to ring, which made me come back to my senses.

"Leo, hon where are you? Do you know why Lyn is not picking up her phone?" She asked. Tears started falling again, "Lyn is in the hospital right now...I'm with her." I said in between my sobs. There was a long silence on the other end. "Mom..mom can you hear me?" I asked worried if anything happened to her.

"Which hospital?" She replied finally with a question. I told her the address and could hear quite sobs on the other end.
After like half an hour later I saw mom running towards me with a tear stained face. And behind her was Axel.
