Chapter 18
Lyn Storm
Even if I've to wait forever I'll do that for you! I love you Lyn. All these words kept on hovering in my head. I tried to distract myself from those words of Axel by walking but still they pop in my head out of nowhere.
'What does he think he is? Will wait for me forever?" I said to myself as I stopped in a park.
There were kids playing everywhere and their parents watching them running around in joy. I smiled as I looked at these kids but it soon changed with a frown when I saw a little girl sitting still on a grass crying. I walked towards her and sat beside her.
"Hello there! What's your name?" I asked waving my hand in front of her. She looked at me then wiped her tears away.
"Katie May." She said with a smile. "Nice name Katie." I said smiling back at her.
"What are you doing here Katie? Where's your parents?" I asked looking everywhere.
"They are not here." She said with a frown.
"Where are they then?" I asked giving my attention to the small kid.
"I don't know." She replied. "What do you mean then where do you live?" I asked rather confused then worry. She flashed a smile then replied "With my grandparents."
I replied with an oh only.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Lyn Storm. You can call me Ly sis." I replied with a smile. She smiled back. What a cute little girl!
"Can I call you mommy?" She said cutely.
"Sure." I said.
"So would Ms. Katie like to have fun with mommy?" I asked her. And instantly her face lit up with excitement but she was hesitant.
"No I can't." She said with a frown.
"Why Katie?" I asked cupping her cheeks with my hands.
"Granny said not to play with a stranger." She said. I laughed at her.
"So do you think I'm a stranger." I asked and she shook her head with disapproval.
"No you are very nice." She said and I felt my face feeling hot.
"Let's go then." I stood up and took her hand.
"CATCH ME MOMMY!" Katie shouted from a distance and I ran towards her.
"Don't go too far Katie!" I shouted back as she was running too fast. She halted and laughed at me. I took this chance and caught her.
She rolled on the grass playfully and I just looked at her in amusement. She made me remember my childhood.
It was already evening but still no one came to fetch Katie in the park. I waited for her grandparents to come but they never came.
"Where's your grandparents Katie?" I asked the kid sitting beside me eating ice cream peacefully.
"They won't come." She said focusing on eating her desert.
"They might be searching for you now?" I asked. She now looked at me.
"No they aren't." She replied with an emotionless expression.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"They don't love me." She replied instantly. How can't anyone love this cute girl? I asked myself.
"Do you know your way back home?" I asked.
"Yes but I don't wanna go home." She said finishing her last bite and looking at me.
"But why Katie?" I asked again. This time she showed me her puppy eyes.
"Because I like you and I don't wanna let you go and go home." She said with sad puppy eyes which melt me completely.
"OK then...but first lemme call someone." I said and grabbed my phone from my pocket.
"Hello where the hell are you?" An worried yell greeted me from the other line.
"Bro I'm in the neighborhood park." I said pausing for a moment."And I'm in a problem." I finished.
"What OK wait for a moment I'm sending someone to fetch you up because I'm busy and on a date with Jade now." He said with an apologetic voice.
"No problem have fun." I said happily.
"OK..I'm sorry. But don't worry I'm sending someone," he said and disconnected the line.
I sighed and pocketed my phone back inside and looked at Katie who was looking at me with a melancholic face.
"What happened to you Katie?" I asked panicking.
"You are leaving mommy." She said as a tear dropped her eyes.
"No no I'm not I just called my parents so that I..I can spend sometime with you...and another person is joining us too." I said stammering. Her face lit up and her crying stopped.
"Wow! Really it'll be fun." She said and started hopping up and down. I just laughed at her acts.
It was nearly dinner time but still nobody came. I waited for an hour. Then Katie asked me that can we walk because she is hungry now.
"I'm hungry." She said rubbing her tummy.
"So shall we go to your home now." I said.
"NO! Let's go somewhere else and eat." She said walking ahead of me. I nodded and followed her.
As we were walking a shadow blocked our way.
"Lyn there you are." A familiar voice said in front of me. I felt Katie's little hands grabbing my fingers out of fear.
"You!" I exclaimed out as soon as I looked at his face from the moonlight lights.
