7. Cowboy Android

Beep
Beep
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
"Oops"
With a jolt of energy, two grey eyes snapped open and a body jolted up. A hiss escaped her lips, feeling like she had been crushed in a garbage disposer.
"Wheatley" a large but gentle hand pushed her back down.
"You need to stay still, little lady, or you'll break your stitches" with much effort, the dull grey eyes found the source of the voice. A man in a labcoat, with a green undershirt and a cowboy hat? She blinked, hoping she was still dreaming but no luck. The man smiled down at her. "Much better, now, urgent question, how much blood can a human loose before it dies?"
"What?" Tess slurred but quickly noticed the red spot on her shirt.
"Never mind, you didn't loose that much, I think."
"Where am I?" The man stepped away from her, out of her eyesight.
"The abandoned medical wing. We've managed to carry you here and I did my best at fixing you up. You took one hell of a hit"
Ignoring the ache in her side, Tess pushed herself up, sitting on the cot. The first thing she noticed was that the room was quite small, smaller than the room she had woken up in. The second thing she noticed was that everything was covered in dust or plants. Finally she noticed the management rail held a core, one who's light wasn't glowing.
"Who's that?" The man turned to her and chuckled
"A stubborn one aren't you. That" he pointed to the core, stepping back to Tess. "Is me" he handed her a cup of water. Tess took it and frowned.
"How can that be you? I can see you, can't I?"
"Android body." He gestured to his body. "Created to match my programming." Tess's eyes traveled to the core. It looked dead like that.
"Cool" Tess breathed, staring at the man. Now with her head a bit clearer she noticed how human his face looked but yet something felt off about it. Now she knew. Android. She shook herself out of her stare and placed the cup on the table. "Where's Wheatley, and Chell?"
"They're fine. Lift your shirt" Tess did so without comment. The green core, gently placed a white cloth to her side. Tess hissed, feeling the sting increase. "It looks fine, you're a tough one" he moved away and Tess dropped her shirt. "The name's Rick. You do have a name right?" Tess nodded, swinging her legs off the side of the bed.
"Tess"
"Great, so Tess. How about we go find your core"
