Dawn and I stand in the street in front of Zoom. His dark suit blends in with the sullen night. He lifts his head and speaks in his slow diabolical rasp. "Hello Dawn, Flash."

I see rage spark in Dawn's eyes while lighting sparks in mine. I run towards him and so does Dawn. Instead of fighting, Zoom turns and runs away. We follow him; Dawn is faster than me so she pulls ahead. She is almost to him when a portal open up around them and the disappear. I pick up my pace and make it into the portal right before it closes. Once I'm through I see a heart shattering sight. Zoom stands above three cowering people. The smallest one looks just like Dawn. Then I look to my left and see Dawn standing there with tears falling down her face. I come to a sudden realization of where we are and whats about to happen. Holy-

"You have a chance to save them Dawn," he says. "Right now."  Dawn shakes her head. The younger Dawn and her parents are turned away so they can't see us. Then Zoom gets in younger Dawn's face and my Dawn cringes. "You'll be just like me someday. You'll kill just like me." I know what happens next and I grab my Dawn and turn her away so she doesn't have to see it. I turn her just in time to but the sound of snapping necks could still be heard from a mile away. Young Dawn screams and my Dawn winces. There's a thud and young Dawn is knocked out on the ground. Dawn's face gets so cold it doesn't even look like her. 

"I am going to kill you!" she screams. She runs at him and I follow. This time Zoom stays and fights. We all land solid hits. Then Zoom kicks Dawn's knee caps and she falls to the ground. He grabs my neck and holds me up. 

"You watched your real parents die, now you can watch him die," Zoom says to Dawn. He raises his speeding hand. Dawn screams but instead of sitting and just watching me die she swings her broken leg out from under her and kicks Zoom's ankles. He crashes to the floor letting me go. While I'm gasping for breath Zoom tries to get away and run back to 2016. We follow him. Dawn is limping on her broken leg but still maintains the same speed as me. 

We enter back into present day where I punch Zoom so hard, his nose caves in. There I stand in the street with the man who killed my best friends parents right in front of her. Twice. Oh my God, Dawn. I turn around expecting her to have a major freak out. But instead I see her smiling in gratitude, but still holding her leg. Then she looks up at me, "You did it."

Tears form in her eyes. We just caught Zoom. Dawn runs at me and jumps into my arms. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," she says. We take Zoom back to the pipeline and make sure all of the locks are secure. Dawn's gratitude suddenly turns to disarray and guilt. She looks up at me with sad eyes. 

"Barry, I- I didn't save them," she says. 

"Dawn, last year I had a chance to go back in time and save my mom. And I didn't. You aren't a bad person for not saving them." She nods. I get a text from Cisco. 

We are at you house. 

"Great," I say monotonously.

"What?" Dawn asks, laughing at my tone.

"Guess there's a party at our house," I say. "C'mon. Race you." 

"With my cracked patella and fractured tibia? Yeah I don't think so. You're carrying me," she say with a laugh. She then jumps into my arms, surprising me. "What are you waiting for? Let's go."

"Heyyy!" Cisco says as we walk in. Everyone is hear: Caitlin, Jesse, Joe, Iris, Harry Cisco, and Wally. Everyone is nestled in their own spot. Jesse and Wally are sitting in the love seat, Harry and Joe were sitting at the table in the dining room, and Cisco and Caitlin are sitting on the chairs opposite of the couch. Dawn joins the latter in talk of science and inventions. I sit next to Iris on the couch.

"Hey, congrats. I heard you defeated Zoom," she says. 

"Yeah, well Dawn helped. A lot," I laugh. Then Iris starts laughing. 

"She's just like you. Dawn Allen- fastest girl alive," she jokes. Huh, Dawn Allen, that's cute. "Well, anyways, catching Zoom is a relief, huh? No more stress." 

"Yeah, I guess," I respond. This is a strange conversation and I wonder what she is getting at. She scoots closer to me. And her head is leaning in. Oh my, is she going to kiss me? My heart does a little flip. I have been waiting for this since second grade! She closes her eyes slowly and I do the same. I can feel her breath get closer to me and- 

"Hey guys!" Dawn chirps sitting in between us. Oh. My. Ugh. Did she seriously just- I let out an aggravated groan and roll my eyes. Does she not understand what she just interrupted? Then I see the smirk on her face. Oh she totally knows what she did. She lets out a small giggle. 

"I am going to kill you," I whisper slowly to Dawn. 

"Screw the future," she whispers. "I ship Snowbarry." With that she laughs and runs off. I put my hand over my face and groan, but I can't help the smile that spreads across my face. This is going to be an adventure.
